Maria P. Hickey of Elk Grove Village
Prayers for Maria P. Hickey (nee Gould), 65, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd. (three blocks south of Biesterfield Rd.), Elk Grove Village. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary Church.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada, she died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at home.
Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Worth.
Mrs. Hickey was employed as the office manager for the Elk Grove Township Fire Department.
Survivors include her husband, Jack; sons, Dennis E. Lirette and Maurice L. (Judith) Lirette; sister, Cecile (Lionel) Richard; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Please omit flowers.
Memorials may be made to the Y-Me Foundation, Maryville Academy or the Haymarket House.

John D. Hoffmaster of Naperville
Services for John D. Hoffmaster, 65, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, at Friedrich- Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
Born March 3, 1934, in Michigan City, Ind., his died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City.
Mr. Hoffmaster was born and raised in Michigan City and graduated from Elston Senior High School in 1952. He served with the Army in Germany during the Korean War. Mr. Hoffmaster married his wife, Florence on Sept. 22, 1956. Over the years, they lived in Michigan City, Oelwein, Iowa and Schererville, Ind. before coming to Naperville in 1979. Mr.
Hoffmaster was employed in the railroad industry for most of his workingyears, most recently in sales by Zef Tek, Inc. in Montgomery, Ill. Mr. Hoffmaster was a longtime member of Alleluia Lutheran Church in Naperville and the Union League Club in Chicago. He enjoyed fishing, golf and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Florence M. (nee Brinckman) Hoffmaster of Naperville; children, John D. (Pamela) Hoffmaster of Schererville and Debbie Cotton of Michigan City; four grandchildren; brother, Larry (Betty) Hoffmaster of Michigan City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Grace(nee DeWitt) Hoffmaster.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

Lillian Iusi of West Chicago
Services for Lillian Iusi (nee Pastore) will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/ Roselle Rd.), Roselle, and continue with a chapel service at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
She was the beloved wife of Joseph; devoted mother of Sam (Grace), Linda Moneghon and Joseph Jr. (Ann Teresa); dear sister of Vivian (Harold) Olson and Louise Kuharich; fond grandmother of Laura, Elizabeth, Dina, Margaret and Gregory; great-grandmother of Kristina, James, Jordan, Harley, Jade and Taylor; and dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.

Bess R. Kirstien of Lisle
Prayers for Bess R. Kirstien, 80, will be said at 9 a.m. Saturday, at FriedrichJones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 26 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
Born Dec. 4, 1918, in New York, N. Y., she died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at ManorCare Health Services in Naperville.
Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton.
Mrs. Kirstien was an active participant in the Ecumenical Adult Center in Naperville since 1996. A Lisle resident since 1995, sheresided in Piscataway, N. J. from 1966 until 1994. She retired in 1984 from Baxter International in Edison, N. J. after years in customer service. She served as a U. S. O. hostess during World War II in New York City.
Survivors include her children, John N. (Liz) Booth of Lisle and Karen (Gary) Steinberg of Lisle; grandson, Trevor Booth of Lisle; sister, Theresa Melo of Lansdale, Pa. ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Marvin George Kuhlman of Des Plaines
A memorial service for Marvin George Kuhlman will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, at Olsen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6467 N. Northwest Hwy. (one blocknorth of Devon), Chicago.
A longtime resident of Des Plaines, he died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Lutheran General Medical Center in Park Ridge.
Marvin was also known as a beloved husband, cherished father, attentive grandfather, reliable uncle, talented artist and trusted friend by all those fortunate enough to have known him for his 68 years inour midst. Marvin, the brother of the late Ronald Kuhlman of Park Ridge, is survived by his wife of 45 years, his daughters, Kass and husband Cary Oliver of Fox River Grove, Laura and husband Gary Melavic of Lake Zurich, Lee and husband Kevin Block of Lake Zurich and Lynn Kuhlman of Milwaukee, Wis. ; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous other family members.
Marv was born in Chicago's Lutheran Memorial Hospital on Sept. 29, 1930, to Bernardand Emily Kuhlman. He was raised and educated in Chicago and the near north suburbs, but found the North Woods of Wisconsin to be his true `home away from home. ' His penchant for fresh water fishing was testament to his deeply seated appreciation for the pastoral serenity of the deep woods. His intrinsically unpretentious yet enthusiastic manner was well suited to the lifestyle of the north. Marv was able to instill that same love of nature in his family and friends as he generously shared that emotion with all those who spent time with him.
Marv found his life's partnerin 1954, when Lois Schultz became Lois Kuhlman, and together they would create a family history built on common interests, mutual respect, and personal growth. Marvin faithfully served his country as a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the Armed Forces, and was a member of the local Elks Club.
Marvin had a notable career as a commercial artist, and served as the creative art director of the National Creative Merchandising Company of Arlington Heights.
Marv enjoyed a distinguished professional life as a recipient of numerous creative honors within the advertising industry.
His talent for creative packaging and character development led to a variety of high profile campaigns for Ford Motors, Kelloggs and Nestle. Most recently, Marv served as creative consultant and commercial artist on special projects for the Disney Studios and Warner Brothers.
Marvin Kuhlman will be remembered for his creative contributions, his dependability, his love for the simple pleasures of life, and for his ability to impart those qualities to those around him.

Douglas C. Kurtz of Barrington
Services for Douglas C. Kurtz, 71, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 401 E. Main St., Barrington. Rev. Duane Contois will officiate.
Mr. Kurtz died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Interment will be private.
He was a retired airline captain for United Airlines of Chicago and a member of the Airline Pilots Association, Retired United Pilots Association and the Retired Captain Airline Pilots Association.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth (nee Young) of Barrington; children, Douglas (Linda) Kurtz of Glen Ellyn, Gail (Mike) McKinley of Medina, Ohio and Pam (Bob) Martin of Crystal Lake; brothers, Robert (Barbara) Kurtz of Pottstown, Pa. and John (Mary) Kurtz of Boyertown, Pa. ; and grandchildren, Lance and Amy McKinley of Medina, and Kimmy and Bobby Martin of Crystal Lake.

Donald J. Kuxhause of Des Plaines
Services for Donald J. Kuxhause, 63, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at G. L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines.
Born Feb. 13, 1936, in Winnipeg, Canada, he died Saturday, May 29, 1999, in Hines, Ill. Burial will be private.
Employed as a service mechanic for A. B. Dick Duplicators, he was a member of the Classic Thunderbird Club of Chicagoland, the Chicagoland Thunderbirds, V. T. C. I., C. T. C. C., Iowa, Illinois and Indiana Thunderbird Club, the Vintage Thunderbirds and the Moose Lodge in Des Plaines.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice (nee Bergman); daughters, Debora (Brian) Biskup and Donna Kuxhause; brother, Gary (Barbara) Kuxhause; and granddaughter, Genevieve.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday, at the funeral home.

Walter J. Lehman of Lake in the Hills
Services for Walter J. Lehman, 88, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Service, 51 Center St., Elgin, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville. The Rev. Fabio Garzon will officiate.
Born March 19, 1911, in Chicago, to John and Mary (nee Tessman) Lehman, he died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Mr. Lehman had served in the Air Corps during World War II. For 24 years he had been employed at Carson Pirie Scott, later worked at Fink Safe and Lock, and retired in 1976 from McGraw Edison, where he had worked in the parts department. He was a member of St.
Monica CatholicChurch, a 50-year member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, and a member of the American Legion in Lake in the Hills.
Surviving are his daughter, Pat (Robert) Neuzil of Lake in the Hills; sister, Annie Storch of Muskegon, Mich. ; granddaughter, Tammy (Mike) Mensing of Lake in the Hills; and great-granddaughter, Brittany Reusch of Lake in the Hills.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catherine A. Campbell Lehman, whom he married Oct. 26, 1940, andwho preceded him Sept. 18, 1993; son, Robert J. Lehman; brother, John Lehman; and sister, Helen Free.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Roger E. Lowrey of Glendale Heights
Services for Roger E. Lowrey, 69, will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, at Cypress Funeral Home, 1698 N. Bloomingdale Rd. (between Army Trail Rd. and North Ave.), Glendale Heights.
Mr. Lowrey passed away Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Glen Oaks Hospital. Private inurnment will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Lowrey was a Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a retired foreman for the Chicago Magnet Wire Company.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice `Pat' (nee Niacaris); children, Linda, Jeffrey, Roberta, Paula (Rich) Carlson, Michael and Kelly; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Jute) Handrick; and many nieces and nephews.

A homemaker, she was the beloved wife of the late Louis Magurno; loving mother of Dale Strowd of Bensenville, Anthony (Madeline) Magurno of Spring Grove and Jack (Nancy) Magurno of Lombard; cherished grandmother of seven; and great-grandmother of two.
