Walter J. Lehman of Lake in the Hills
Services for Walter J. Lehman, 88, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Service, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin, and continue withMass at 10 a.m., at St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville. The Rev. Fabio Garzon will officiate.
Born March 19, 1911, in Chicago, to John and Mary (nee Tessman) Lehman, he died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Mr. Lehman had served in the Air Corps during World War II. For 24 years he had been employed at Carson Pirie Scott, later worked at Fink Safe and Lock, and retired in 1976 from McGraw Edison, where he had worked in the parts department. He was a member of St.
Monica Catholic Church, a 50-year member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, and a member of the American Legion in Lake in the Hills.
Surviving are his daughter, Pat (Robert) Neuzil of Lake in the Hills; sister, Annie Storch of Muskegon, Mich.; granddaughter, Tammy (Mike) Mensing of Lake in the Hills; and great-granddaughter, Brittany Reusch of Lake in the Hills.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catherine A. Campbell Lehman, whom he married Oct. 26, 1940, and who preceded him Sept. 18, 1993; son, Robert J. Lehman; brother, John Lehman; and sister, Helen Free.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Lorraine S. Loftus
Services for Lorraine S. Loftus, 74, of Chicago, will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Rd. at Cumberland, Park Ridge.
Born April 9, 1925, in Chicago, she died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Interment will be private.
She was a retired data entry operator in auto leasing.
She was the wife of the late John; mother of Ciree, Glynis (David) Burdeen, James (Deborah) and Jeffery (Deborah) of Schaumburg; sister of Kay Olson; grandmother of 12; and great-grandmother of one.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Chicago Botanical Gardens.

Kevin J. McMurtry of Vernon Hills
Services for Kevin J. McMurtry, 19, will be held at 8:30 p.m. Monday, at Kristan Funeral Home, P. C., 219 W. Maple Ave. (Route 176), Mundelein. Rev. Richard Kay Jr. will officiate.
Born Nov. 18, 1979, in Chicago, he died Friday, June 4, 1999, at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
He is survived by his mother, Maria White of Vernon Hills; brother, Bradley McMurtry of Vernon Hills; sister, Svea McMurtry of Chicago; grandmother, Anna Kay of Kentucky; aunts, Angelita (David) Tolly of Connecticut, Heidirose Bocot of Indiana, Ingrid Kay of Indiana and Sylvia Kay of Harvey; godmother, Katherina (Ray) Donald of Bloomington, Ill. ; uncles, Michael Kay of Connecticut and Albert Kay of Chicago Heights; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the services Monday, at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Misar of Lake County
Services and interment for Elizabeth Misar, 81, formerly of Chicago, will be private.
Born July 22, 1917, in Chicago, she passed away Saturday, June 5, 1999, at Manor Care Health Care Facility in Libertyville.
A Lake County resident for the past 25 years, she leaves her sister, Ann Rezmer of RoundLake; nephews, John (Carol) Rezmer of Grayslake and Martin (Nancy) Rezmer of California; and niece, Georginne (Frank) Hall of California.
Arrangements were made by Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake.

Frank H. Morrow Jr. formerly of Elgin
Memorial services for Frank H. Morrow Jr., 86, of Chicago, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, at First United Methodist Church in Elgin. The Rev. Thomas Walker will officiate.
Born Feb. 21, 1913, in New Castle, Pa., to Frank H. and Myrtle (nee Braun) Morrow Sr., he died Tuesday, June1, 1999, at Garden View Nursing Home in Chicago.
Burial will be private.
Mr. Morrow had served in the Army duringWorld War II and was later employed as a salesman in retail meat sales.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elgin and Eagles Aerie #1047, and was an avid golfer and bowler.
The Morrows had formerly lived on Elgin's west side on Worth Avenue.
Surviving are his son, Richard (Karen) Morrow of Naperville; daughter, Patricia (the Rev. Robert) Craig of Metmora, Ill. ; sister, Velma McCoy in Pennsylvania; and grandchildren, Jennifer, Rob and Stephen Craig in Metmora, and Brett and Scott Morrow in Naperville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Morrow (nee James), whom he married Aug. 7, 1942, and who preceded him April 22, 1992; two brothers; and one sister.
Memorials may be made to Northwestern University Alzheimer's Center, Searle #11, 303 E. Chicago St., Chicago, IL 60611.
Arrangements were made by Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Services, Elgin.

Donald K. Mulvihill of Hanover Park
Prayers for Donald K. Mulvihill, 59, will be said at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.), Bartlett. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Isidore Church.
Born Oct. 12, 1938, in Chicago, he died Friday, June 4, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Interment will be in the family lot in Elgin.
Employed as an automotive mechanic, Mr. Mulvihill was an active member of the National Bicycle League.
Survivors include his wife, Ida (nee Vernetti); children, Deborah (David) Lawson of Hanover Park, Brenda (Steven) Cross of Elgin, Donny (Lisa) Mulvihill of HanoverPark and Denise Mulvihill of Hanover Park; brother, James (Doris) of Barrington; sister, Mary (Bob) Toth of Oak Lawn; and grandchildren, Joey, Lisa, Jeffrey, Sarah, Nicholas and Samantha.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Virginia K. Murphy of Naperville
Services for Virginia K. Murphy, 83, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren, Naperville, going to a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Church, Naper Boulevard and Green Trails Drive, Naperville.
Born Nov. 5, 1915, in Chicago, she died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at ManorCare in Naperville. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Murphy had been a resident of Naperville for 15 years and had previously lived in the Beverly area. A graduate of the Cook County School of Nursing, she had worked as a registered nurse for about 50 years, retiring in 1981 from Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park. Mrs. Murphy was a member and past president of the South Shore Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #2255, a former member of St. Barnabas Church, and most recently a member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Naperville, where she was a very active parishioner. She especially loved baking for her family and friends.
Surviving are her sons, Michael (Barbara) Murphy of Wood Dale and Jim (Karron) Murphy of Jacksonville, Ill. ; daughters, Mary Kay Murphy of Janesville, Calif., Trish (Dennis) Mazur of Naperville and Francie (Rick) Mitchell of Los Angeles, Calif. ; sister, Patricia Haller of Tenino, Wash. ; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Thomas and Kathryn (nee Carrick) Dean; husband, Francis M. Murphy; brother, Clyde (the late Ruth) Dean; sister, Marcella (the late Frank) Shannon; and brother-in-law, Frank Haller.
Visitation will be from 4 to8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Erna K. Pahnke of Elgin
Services for Erna K. Pahnke, 90, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Rev. Martin Balzer and Rev. David Schlie will officiate.
Born Feb. 2, 1909, in Elgin, the daughter of Henry and Augusta Schlie, she passed away Thursday, June 3, 1999, at the Rosewood Care Center in Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
A lifelong Elgin resident, she was a graduate of Sherman Hospital School of Nursing in 1932. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a occupational nurse for McGraw Edison in Algonquin.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Elgin and Sherman Hospital School of Nursing Alumni.
Survivors include her sister, Wilma A. Lueck of Elgin; brothers, Orlyn Schlie and Roland Schlie, both of Oviedo, Fla. and Rev. David Schlie of Fort Wayne, Ind. ; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; firsthusband, William McMahon, in 1945; second husband, William Pahnke, in 1967; brothers, Rev. Walter, Rev. George andAlbert Schlie; and sisters, Minnie Brown and Dorothy Schmidt.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services Monday, at the church.
Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran School.

LeRoy J. Roath Sr., 98, of Lombard, died Friday, June 4, 1999. Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, Lombard, (630) 629-0094.

Charles J. Rothers of Arlington Heights
A memorial Mass for Charles J. Rothers, 78, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights.
Born Feb. 18, 1921, in Chicago, Mr. Rothers died Friday, June 4, 1999, at home. Interment will be private.
He retired in 1986, where hehad been the director of strategic planning at the Tribune Company. He was formerly employed as vice president anddirector of engineering at WGN Continental Broadcasting and former president of WGN Electronic Systems Company.
A World War II Navy veteran, Mr. Rothers joined the Civil Air Patrol in 1985, where he flew 30 missions as a search and rescue pilot. He served as a member of the Arlington Heights Central City Development.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janice E. (nee Kapple), whom he married on June 19, 1945; children, Barbara (Ralph) Rader of Grand Rapids, Mich., Tom (Diane) Rothers of Green Bay, Wis., Jan (Charlie) Cimorelli of Schaumburg and John Rothers of Schaumburg; grandchildren, Michael and Megan Rader, and Chris and Kate Cimorelli; and sister, Gertrude Osmond of Tampa, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Louise.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410 S. Hager Ave., Barrington, IL 60010 or your favorite charity.

Anthony Scheri formerly of St. Charles
A funeral Mass for Anthony Scheri, 73, of Cape Coral, Fla., will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Patrick Catholic Mission Church, St. Charles.
Born Oct. 29, 1925, in Catanzaro, Italy, to Nicholas and Michelena (nee Cortese) Scheri, he died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Cape Coral Hospital. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva Township.
A veteran, Mr. Scheri had served in the Air Force during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post #342 and St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Charles.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marie Scheri; daughters, Barbara (Pat) Cain and Donna (Dennis) Karolewicz, both of St. Charles; sister, Mary Cavanaugh of Elmwood Park; brothers, Peter Scheri of Hoffman Estates and Ralph Scheri of New York; and grandchildren, Cory, James and Brian.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Kathleen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles.

Helen M. Schmidt (nee Peterson), 98, of Lombard, died Friday, June 4, 1999. Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, Lombard, (630) 629-0094.
