George A. Smith of Elk Grove Village
Prayers for George A. Smith, formerly of Wakefield, England, will be said at 9:30 a. m. Friday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd. (three blocks south of Biesterfield Rd. ), Elk Grove Village. Mass will follow at 10 a. m. at St. Julian Eymard Church.
Born in Wakefield, England, he died Monday, June 7, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family at the time of his death. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mr. Smith served in the British Royal Navy during World War II. A resident of Elk Grove Village for 30 years, he had coached soccer for the Elk Grove Park District.
Survivors include his wife, Philomena Smith (nee Ryan); daughter, Elizabeth (fiance, Paul Leddy) Smith; brothers, Joseph H. (Betty) of Ohio and Horace (Hilary) of Yorkshire, England; grandchildren, Ryan and Liam; nephews, William and Michael; and niece, Katherine.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p. m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Violet V. Stanek formerly of East Dundee
Services for Violet V. Stanek, 88, of Denton, Texas, will beheld at 2 p. m. Friday, at First United Methodist Church, West Dundee. Rev. Gary Waters will officiate.
Born Dec. 30, 1910, in Elgin, the daughter of Earl and Anna (nee Dahl) Hansen, she died Saturday, June 5, 1999, at Denton Community Hospital in Denton.
Burial will be in Dundee Township Cemetery East, East Dundee.
Violet was a resident of the East Dundee area for many years before moving to Denton. She was also a former longtime member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Joan (Bob) Kress Pfarr of Sanger, Texas; sons, Thomas E. (Beth) Stanek of Denton and Donald G. (Darlene) Stanek of Algonquin; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one greatstepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, George on July 15, 1989, they were married on June 26, 1929.
Visitation will be from 1 p. m. until the time of the services Friday, at the church.
Arrangements were made by Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.

Fred E. `Bud' Stiegmann of Park Ridge
Memorial services for Fred E. `Bud' Stiegmann, 81, will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday, at Park Ridge Community Church, 100 S. Courtland, Park Ridge.
Born Sept. 2, 1917, in Chicago, he died Sunday, June 6, 1999.
A resident of Park Ridge for 46 years, Mr. Stiegmann was a retired courtesy distributor for Old Style. A veteran, he had served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, from 1943 to 1945, and was a member of Park Ridge VFW 3579, where he was the junior and senior commander from 1968 to 1969 and currently was the junior vice commander elect. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Park Ridge Veterans Club, a member of Moose Lodge #604 and a member of Elks Lodge #1526.
He was the beloved husband for 38 years of the late Gladys Stiegmann (nee Schmidt), who died in October 1985, and for eight years of the late Betty Stiegmann (nee Bergman), who died in August 1995; loving father of Richard (Phyllis Anderson) Bloecker of Palatine, Wayne (Donna) Bloecker of Lenexa, Kan., and Holly Dolan of Crystal Lake; proud grandfather of eight; stepgrandfather of 10; great-grandfather of three; and great stepgrandfather of four. He was also the dear brother of the late Vera (Frank) Wenderski; and fond uncle of Frank Wenderski of Florida and Patrick (Marleen) Wenderski of Hoffman Estates.
A memorial visitation will be held after the services, from 3 to 7 p. m. Thursday, at Park Ridge VFW Post 3579, 10 W. Higgins, Park Ridge, with an honor service at 4 p. m. and a buffet following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VFW Post 3579.

Jack M. Teitelbaum of Buffalo Grove
Graveside services for Jack M. Teitelbaum, 86, will be held at 2 p. m. today, at Westlawn Cemetery, Petunia Section, 7801 W. Montrose, Norridge.
He was the dearly beloved husband for 65 years of Frances; loving father of Sheila (Sanford) Bronstein and Michael (Carole); adored grandfather of David (Viola) Bronson, Marci (Chuck) Quinones, Loren (Steven) Edelheit, and Jeffrey and Richard Teitelbaum; proud great-grandfather of Connor Bronson, Eric, Brian and Jessica Quinones, and Zachary and Justin Edelheit; and dear brother of Esther Linn, and the late Rose Goldberg and Dorothy Kornfeld.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St., Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60604.

Irvin S. Tuhy of Des Plaines
Services for Irvin S. Tuhy, 72, will be held at 11 a. m. Thursday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
Born Sept. 24, 1926, in Chicago, he died Monday, June 7, 1999, at Lutheran General Hospital. Burial will be in Bohemian National Cemetery.
Mr. Tuhy worked for West Lawn Cemetery for more than 25 years. He was a life member of the VFW Post 6636 in Northlake, District 13 deputy I. O. O. F., Algonquin District deputy B. S. A., president of the North Shore Lost Cord Club from 1983 until 1999, and member of A. T.
Sherman Lodge #892 I. O. O. F., Grand Lodge I. O. O. F., Northwest Lodge I. O. O. F., Order of the Arrow Lakota Lodge, and Local 106 and Local 1 Service Employee Union.
He was the husband of the late Pauline; father of Steve (Janet) Tuhy of Park City and Nancy Tuhy of Des Plaines; and grandfather of Jason and Joshua.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p. m. today, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes. Association.

Lina Marie Ghilarducci
Lina Marie Ghilarducci (nee Citti) entered eternity June 9, 1999, after 83 years on earth.
Lina was the beloved wife of the late Louis Ghilarducci. She was the youngest sibling of the late John Citti, the late Agnes Grassi and her recently departed sister, Rita Citti.
Her surviving sister is our beloved aunt, Ida (late Paul) Lytis. Lina had four devoted children, the late Robert, Roberta (Duane) Lennon, Richard (Denise Nelson) and Raymond (Theodora Iannello).
She was blessed with six grandchildren who mourn her loss. They include Sean, Danielle and Jennifer Lennon, Adrianna and Vanessa Ghilarducci, and William Ghilarducci. She was the beloved aunt and great-aunt of many.
Lina was a proud 47-year member of St. Edward Parish, an active member of the Pro-Life Organization and past member of the Ladies of the Moose. She retired in 1983 from the commercial world after working withher sister Rita at Cinema Processors, Inc. for more than 15 years.
Her presence will be missed but her spirit willlive on in the memories of her family and friends.
The funeral will be Monday, June 14, at 9:15 a. m. from Baran Funeral Home, 2644-46 N. Central Ave. to St. Edward Church for a Mass at 10 a. m. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p. m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Rev. Salvatore J. `Sam' Ognibene of Chicago
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rev. Salvatore J. `Sam' Ognibene will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, at St. John Bosco Church, 2250 N. McVicker Ave., Chicago.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.
He was the loving son of the late Joseph and Agnes (nee Petrine); devoted brother of Rev. Joseph Ognibene, Agnes (Don) Love, Eugene (Lana) Ognibene and the late Matilda (late Charles) Eugling; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He will lie in state from 3 to 9 p. m. Sunday, at the church, witha wake service at 7 p. m.

Ethel T. Barney of Naperville
A memorial service for Ethel T. Barney (nee Takkunen), 95, a 20-year resident of Naperville and formerly of Oak Park, will be held at 11 a. m. Friday, June 18, at Charles Court Apartments, 300 N. Charles Court, Naperville, with the Rev. Thomas Babler officiating.
Born Feb. 27, 1904, in Ely, Minn., she died Friday, June 11, 1999, at her home.
Interment will be private.
Mrs. Barney was born and raised in Ely. She came to Chicago in her late teens and received her nursing degree from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago. For some years she was employed as a registered nurse at Presbyterian Hospital. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Barney married her husband, Robert, in 1933 and the couple moved to Oak Park. In the late 1970s she moved to Naperville where she was involved in the Naperville Senior Center and the Christian Science Church.
Surviving are her sons,Roger (Evelyn) Barney of Naperville, Ross Barney of Island Lake and Robert (Barrie) Barney of Daleville, Ind. ;grandchildren, Erik Barney, Stephan (Donielle) Barney, Paul Barney, Robert Barney and Barbara (Mark) Paschal; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Barney, who was an attorney for Isham, Lincoln & Beale Law Firm in Chicago; three brothers; and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community United Methodist Church, 20 N. Center St., Naperville, IL 60540.

Alexander Borisov of Elgin
A funeral Mass for Alexander Borisov, 76, will be held at 10 a. m. Monday, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Elgin. The Rev. Stanislaw Kos will officiate.
Born Aug. 30, 1923, to Gregory and Marsa Borisov, he died Friday, June 11, 1999, at his residence. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Borisov wasretired from Prudential Life Insurance Company.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Borisov (nee Liptak), whom he married Jan. 14, 1950, in Belgium; sons, Alexander (Michelle) Borisov Jr. of Springfield, Ill., George (Jene) Borisovof Genoa City, Wis., and Daniel (Nancy) Borisov of Grapevine, Texas; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p. m. Sunday, at O'Connor & Homeier FuneralHome, 364 Division St., Elgin, with prayers at 5 p. m. ;and from 9 a. m. until the time of services at 10 a. m. Monday, at the church.

Sally Ann Butler of Libertyville A funeral Mass for Sally Ann Butler (nee Van Hagren), 68, will be celebrated at 9:45 a. m. today, at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple, Libertyville.
Born June 15, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., she died Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge.
Burial will be private, in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
Mrs. Butler had been a resident of Libertyville for 20 years and was a member of the St. Joseph Parish. She was also an avid golf and bridge player.
Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Butler; son, Robert P. (Diane) Butler of Bolingbrook; daughters, Mary Jo (Brian) Reynolds of Arlington Heights and Ann Marie `Whitey' (Marcus) Strack of Chicago; grandchildren, Jason, Patrick, Joshua, Hillary and Gabriel Reynolds and William Butler; and sister, Margaret (Gerald) Horgan of California.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary of the Lake Seminary Education Fund, c/o St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple, Libertyville, IL 60048.
