Phyllis S. Castle of Naperville
Services for Phyllis S. Castle (nee Sloves), 84, will be held at 11:30 a. m. Tuesday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
Born July 31, 1914, in Chicago, he died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Independence Village, Naperville. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Castle was raised in Chicago and graduated from Marshall High School.
She also studied for two years at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana until the Great Depression forced her to come home. She was a 25-year resident of Bellwood and had lived in Naperville for 20 years, most recently at Independence Village. Prior to her retirement, she had been an accountant employed by the Federal Bryant Machinery Company in Chicago and Elmhurst. She was also a volunteerat the Naperville Senior Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis A. (Maris T.) Kalnins of Naperville; grandchildren, Kristine and Erika Kalnins; niece, Gwen (Raymond) Kallhauge of Geneva; great-niece, Susan Benner of West Chicago; great-nephew, Glen (Kathryn) Kallhauge of Geneva; great-great-nephews, Raymond Benner and Kyle Kallhauge; and sister-in-law, Lillian (Raymond) Sloves of Geneva.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Castle Jr., whom she married on Aug. 28, 1937, and who preceded her in 1977; parents, Michael and Anna (nee Lesser) Sloves;and brothers, Lester `Sonny' Sloves and Raymond Sloves.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p. m. Monday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the College of DuPage Foundation, 22nd Street and Lambert Road,Glen Ellyn, IL 60137-6599.

Donald M. Cook formerly of St. Charles and Geneva
Services for Donald M. Cook, 91, of Knoxville, Tenn., will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, at Grace Lutheran Church of Lily Lake, 5 N 600 Hanson Road. The Rev. Winfield Johanson will officiate.
Born June 5, 1908, in Lost Nation, Iowa, to Melvin and Freda Cook, he passed away Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville.
Burial will be in Lily Lake Cemetery.
Mr. Cook was employed for 40 years by Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as a CLU insurance agent. He had attended the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. Don was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Elsie Cook; daughters, Carol (Nicholas) Muller of Madison, Wis., Suzanne (Arthur) Cothran of Beaver Dam, Wis., and Shari (David) Grace of Knoxville; brother, Glidden Cook of Hemet, Calif.; sister, GladysNeise of Savanna, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents andhis brother, Orville Cook.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p. m. today, at Yurs-Wittenberg Funeral Home, 1771W. State St. (Route 38), Geneva, and from 10 a. m. until the time of services at 11 a. m. Monday, at the church.
Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.

Ann J. Devecchio Lake Zurich
Services for Ann J. Devecchio, 75, will be held at 7 p. m. Tuesday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.
Born March 9, 1924, in Youngstown, Ohio, she died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. Interment will be private.
Survivors include her children, Pat (Phil) Zohn, Henry Smith and Gloria (Rick) James; grandchildren, Michael (Brandi) and Paul (Kristi); great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley and Ricky; one brother; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, David Smith.
Visitation will be from from 1 p. m. until the time of the services Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Alan A. Ferguson formerly of Elgin
Services for Alan A. Ferguson, 50, of Schaumburg, will be held at 11:30 a. m. Monday, at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington.
Born Dec. 29, 1948, in Evanston, he died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Burial will be in Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee.
Mr. Ferguson was employed as an accountant with Mayster and Hambourger in Lincolnwood. He was a member of Willow Creek Community Church.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Ferguson; daughter, Cara Ferguson of Elgin; son, Brett (Jodi) Ferguson of Maryland; parents, Gilbert and Arline Ferguson of Elgin; and brothers, Orrion Ferguson of Elgin and Brian (Deborah) Ferguson of LaHabra, Calif.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p. m. today, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin.

Mary Rose Ferraro of Crystal Lake
A funeral Mass for Mary Rose Ferraro, 83, will be celebrated at 10 a. m. Thursday, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Crystal Lake. The Rev. David Huber will officiate.
Born March 14, 1916, in Chicago, to Michael and Rose Maria (nee Greco) DelPrete, she died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, following the Mass.
Survivors includeher children, Dolores Ferraro of Crystal Lake and Michael Ferraro of Chicago; and grandchildren, Natalie (Ross) LaMota, Nicholas Berendt and Eileen Berendt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Natty P. Ferraro, whom she married Oct. 1, 1934, in Chicago, and who preceded her in 1989; daughter, Rosalie Berendt; grandson, David Berendt; and brother, Cosimo DelPrete.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p. m. Wednesday, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

Mary Rose Finan
A funeral Mass for Mary Rose Finan (nee May), 83, of Chicago, will be held at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, at St. Peters Church, 1891 Kaneville Rd., Geneva. Rev. Anthony Pantyra will officiate.
Born July 29, 1915, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Mary (nee Mulcare) May, she died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at Countryside Nursing Home in Aurora. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Survivors include her sister, Ruth Fick of St. Charles; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, in 1989; her parents; and brothers, John and Joseph.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p. m. Monday, at Yurs-Wittenberg Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St. (Route 38), Geneva, with a liturgical wake service at 7:30 p. m.

Minnie D. Gardner of Libertyville
Services for Minnie D. Gardner, 91, will be held at 1 p. m. Wednesday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville. Pastor Martin E. Schoell will officiate.
Born June 15, 1908, in Wauconda, she passed away Thursday, June 24, 1999, at ManorCare Health Services inLibertyville. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
A lifelong Libertyville resident, she was a member and sangin the choir at St. John's Lutheran Church in Libertyville and before her retirement, had been a bookkeeper at Titus Electric and later Century Electric Company in Libertyville.
Surviving is her son, Paul (Rose) Gardner of Spring Grove; daughter, Ardeth (Donald) Schreck of Port St. Joe, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; and sister, Ruth Dasher of Rhinelander, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents,Charles and Henrietta Seiler; husband, Mark, March 23, 1977; daughter, Joyce Goheen; and brothers, Bud, Carl and John.
Friends of the family may call from 5 to 8 p. m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be madeto St. John's Lutheran Church, in her memory.

Joseph Gliniewicz formerly of Round Lake Beach
A Mass of the Resurrection for Joseph Gliniewicz, 84, of Largo, Fla., will be held at 9:30 a. m. Monday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Round Lake.
Born Dec. 20, 1914, in Michigan City, Ind., he passed away Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Largo Medical Center in Largo. Interment will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.
A 31-year Round Lake Beach resident, Mr. Gliniewicz retired to Largo in 1978.
He had been employed by International Harvester for more than 29 1/2 years, as a welding engineer. He was a member of the Teddy Bear Club, Oak Crest Resident Club and St. Jerome Catholic Church in Largo, and former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Round Lake.
He leaves his loving wife, Rosalie (nee Lentek), whom he wed on Feb. 6, 1937, in Chicago; daughter, Rosalie (Dave) Clingerman of Round Lake Beach; daughters-in-law, Lynne Gliniewicz of Paducah, Ky. and Debbie Gliniewicz of Bristol, Wis.; sisters, Josephine Bober of Wheeling, Sylvia Surek of Round Lake Beach and Geanie Gliniewicz; brothers, Robert (Donna) Gliniewicz of Wauconda and William (Marilyn) Gliniewicz of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Donald Gliniewicz on May 15, 1998; brothers, Steve and Henry; and sister, Dorothy McLean.
Friends of the family may visit from 4 to 9 p. m. today, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, in his memory.

Alfred J. Hain of Des Plaines
Funeral services for Alfred J. Hain, 77, formerly of Chicago, will be held at 9:30 a. m. Monday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
Born Dec. 8, 1921, in Germany, he died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Northwestern Hospital. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Fox River Grove.
Mr. Hain was a retired Chicago fireman, Truck #25. He was a former member of the Northwest Turners.
He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Hain; loving father of Ronald (Toni) Hain of Hoffman Estates, Roger Hain of Chicago and Janeen (Lloyd) Kusch of Des Plaines; proud grandfather of Jason, Adam, Brandy, Jamie, Mark and Greg; and dear brother of Ann Willow.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p. m. today, at the funeral home.

Rita J. Heathershaw of Wheaton
A funeral Mass for Rita J. Heathershaw of Wheaton, formerly of Bellwood and Chicago, will begin at 10:30 a. m. Monday, from Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, continuing with Mass at 11 a. m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, 300 E. Cole St., Wheaton.
She died Saturday, June 19, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, following the Mass.
Mrs. Heathershaw enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the former Midwesterners Square Dance Club. She also was a member of the Happy Hoofers walking group and a former member of the Cappa Club.
Surviving are her husband, Richard T. Heathershaw; children, Tom (Lyn) Heathershaw of Colorado, Kathy (Fred) Cannataro of Colorado and Janice Razniewski of North Aurora; grandchildren, Conor Heathershaw, Gina and Lauren Cannataro, and Zack and Sylvia Razniewski; sister, Eileen Kenney of Lombard; and brother, John (Joan) Hickey of Florida.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p. m. today, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Morton Arboretum, 4100 Illinois Route 53, Lisle, IL 60532-1293.
