Robert M. Nicholson of Wauconda
Services for Robert M. Nicholson, 74, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at KisselburgWauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at Transfiguration Church, 310 Mill St., Wauconda.
Born Sept. 17, 1924, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in North Chicago. Burial will be in Wauconda Cemetery.
Mr. Nicholson had been a resident of Wauconda for 28 years. An Army veteran of World War II, he was the past commander and current adjutant of DAV Stars & Stripes Post #83 and a member of American Legion Post #911 in Wauconda.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret Nicholson (nee Ryan); loving father of John Nicholson, James (Cynthia) Nicholson and Mary Therese (Kurt) Dembski; proud `Papa' of Ryan and Kevin Nicholson; dear brother of Donald (Margaret)Nicholson and the late Richard (Mary) Nicholson; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to DAV Chapter #83, c/o the American Legion, PO Box 146, Wauconda, IL 60084.

Guy Proctor formerly of Elgin
Memorial services for Guy Proctor, 50, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. The Rev. Paul Meyers will officiate.
Born April 27, 1948, to Frank and Betty Proctor, he died Saturday, April 10, 1999, at his home in Sacramento, Calif.
Mr. Proctor wasa graduate of Larkin High School and a veteran of the Vietname War. Guy's life can be characterized by his love of family and his devotion to helping others.
He was the beloved husband of Gayle Quiggle Proctor; cherished son of Betty Ortega of Sacramento; loving father of Kirsen Proctor Bailey and Rye Proctor Pallotti; proud grandfather of five; and dear brother of Kip Proctor of Sacramento, Loveda Proctor Boyer of Elgin and Bennizette Proctor Johnson of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Proctor.

Ron Richter formerly of St. Charles
A memorial service for Ron Richter, 60, of British Columbia, Canada, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 9, at the Richter ranch airstrip on Cimarron Trail north of Grand Rapids, for all family and friends.
A reception will follow immediately.
Born Sept. 22, 1938, in St. Charles, he passed away Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at his ranch.
He moved to the Grand Rapids area from St. Charles in June 1966. He owned and operated Richter and Sons Construction Company in Grand Rapids for more than 30 years until his recent retirement.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors as well as flying his airplane.
Survivors include his wife, Lynette, whom he married on July 27, 1975; sons, Mary (Marie) Richter, Scott (Debbie) Richter and Dan (Karen) Richter; father, Charles Richter; and grandchildren, Joshua Wayne Richter, Katelyn Jane Richter and Jack Thomas Richter.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Richter.

The Rev. Michael J. Fritzen, SVD
A funeral Mass for the Rev. Michael J. Fritzen, SVD, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at St. James Church, 841 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, where he will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Techny.
He was the dear son of the late Michael Fritzen and the late Hedwig Fritzen Kammermier and stepson of the late Ludwig Kammermier; dear brother of Barbara (Alfred) Mayer and Loretta (Bill) Renner; fond uncle of Rosemarie Mayer, Michael (Shelly)Maeyr, Elizabeth Holst, Thomas (Mary Beth) Mayer, Suzanne Renner, William (Nora) Renner, Marie (Joe) Viereckl and Annette (Steve) Terzic; fond great-uncle of Katelyn, Erin, and Matthew Mayer, Amber, Adam and Ian Holst, Megan Mayer, Peter, Daniel and Erica Brask, Madeline, Ellen and Marcus Viereckl, and Emily, Maggie and Annie Terzic; and cousin to many here and in Germany.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Divine Word Seminary, PO Box 65, Techny, IL 60082; or to the Catholic Kolping Society, 5826 N. Elston Ave., Chicago, IL 60646, would be appreciated.

Mercedas L. `Cede' Seyller of Gilberts
A funeral Mass for Mercedas L. `Cede' Seyller, 81, formerly ofLake Marian, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee.
Born April 19, 1918, in Canada, to William and Mae (nee Doherty) Homuth, she died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at Heritage Manor,Elgin. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Seyller was a former 25-year employee of Revcor Manufacturing in Carpentersville and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee.
Surviving are her son, Richard (Deborah) Seyller of Gilberts; granddaughter, Laura; grandsons, Andrew and David; sister, Alberta (Red) Vaughan of Elgin; and sisters-in-law, Lillian `Pete' Homuth of Hampshire and Josephine Homuth of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Seyller, in 1970; son, William, in 1951; and brothers, Ernest, William and Eugene Homuth.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Miller Funeral Home, 504W. Main St., West Dundee, and from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the church.

Ellen G. `Gay' Shields of Glen Ellyn
Services for Ellen G. `Gay' Shields, 80, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd. (one block east of Naperville Rd.) ,Wheaton.
Born Jan. 7, 1919, in New Canton, Ill., she left peacefully Wednesday, June, 30, 1999, at home with the support ofher family after a short illness. She will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery, Geneva and Riford Road, Glen Ellyn, across from the soccer field where her grandchildren played.
A graduate of Western Illinois University, she taught in a one room school in Adams County before marrying and moving to Chicago. She worked at Alden's Inc. in the advertising department. Gay was very interested in her grandchildren and made sure she took time to listen to them.
She was loving wife for 58 years of William J. `Daddy Bill'; dearest mother of John W. (Nancy) Shields and Lenne Ellen Orona, all of Glen Ellyn; cherished grandmother and nicknamed Gay by Carla Van Zuuk, Rick Orona, Max, Nell, Angus and Rory Shields; great-grandmother of Jody, Jason and Jessica VanZuuk; fond aunt of Jim, Kay, Paula, Bill, Susan, John and Wallace; and sister-in-law and friend of Helen Manker (nee Warmker).
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Adele J. Slowik of Wheeling
Services for Adele J. Slowik (nee Kesiner), 84, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. today, at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (two blocks south of Dundee Road), Wheeling, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph the Worker Church.
Born Jan. 14, 1915, in Chicago, she died Thursday, July 1, 1999, at Oakton Pavillion in Des Plaines. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Surviving are her husband, Casimer Slowik; sons, Charles (Bonnie) Slowik of Wheeling and Michael (Pat) Slowik of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Janice (Richard) Kriedler of Atlanta, Ga.; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until the time of prayers at 9:30 a.m. today, at the funeral home.

Paul N. Stevens formerly of St. Charles
A memorial service for Paul N. Stevens, 93, of North Aurora, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, at Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles. Fr. Joseph B. Linster will officiate.
Born March 3, 1906, in Elgin, the son of Perry and Marion Stevens, he died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora.
Mr. Stevens was a farmer in the area, and also worked for Moline Malleable Iron Company in St. Charles, retiring in 1968.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mary; children, Charles (Virginia) Stevens of Wickenburg, Ariz., Charlotte (Richard) Carlson of Delavan, Wis., Phyllis (Charles) Meier of Springfield, Ill., Ronald Stevens of North Aurora and Marion (James) Scott of Big Rock, Ill.; grandchildren, Craig, Kevin, Barry, Luanne, Steve, Shirley, Eric, Karen, Bob, Rick, Karl, Bradley and Paula; 22 great-grandchildren; and brother, John Stevens of Sun City, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pauline; and brothers, Harold, Waldo, Perry, Richard and Floyd Stevens.

Helen Linnea Stumpf of Elgin
Memorial services for Helen Linnea Stumpf, 93, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Elgin. The Rev. Thomas O'Connor and Dr. Robert Kasper will officiate.
Born Dec. 30, 1905, in Batavia, the oldest child of Edward and Victoria (nee Josefson) Swanson, she died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at Rosewood Care Center, Elgin. Private graveside services will be held Friday in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Prior to moving to Elgin, Mrs. Stumpf and her husband had resided in Rockford for 30 years. She wasa member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Elgin and the church's Women's Organization, the Ladies Auxiliary and the Challengers Group. She was a former member of Bethel United Church of Christ in Rockford. Mrs. Stumpf also belonged to the Ladies of the Elks Lodge 737 of Elgin and was an avid flower gardener.
Surviving are her daughters, Marlene (Richard) Mueller of Taylor Ridge, Ill. and Kathleen (Eugene) Jongsma of San Antonio, Texas; son, the Rev. Donald Stumpf of New York City, N. Y.; grandsons, Brad and Brett Mueller; great-granddaughters, Pamela and Paige Mueller; sisters, Esther Biever, Violet Swanson and Audrey Miller, all of Batavia; brother, Richard Swanson of Flower Mound, Texas; and sister-in-law, Marian Swanson of Batavia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer E. Stumpf, May 13, 1973; sisters, Elsie, in infancy, and Eleanor Hunt; brothers, Arthur, Harry and Lt. Kenneth Swanson; and grandsons, Charles and Jay Mueller.
Visitation will be at the time of the memorial services at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Stumpf Fund for Clergy Pension Relief in Honduras and Mexico, or to a charity of donor's choice.
Arrangements were made by Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.

Evelyn M. Tritz of Mundelein
A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn M. Tritz (nee Turnball), 81, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today, at Santa Maria del Popolo Chapel, 116 N. Lake St. (Route 45), Mundelein.
Born Jan. 18, 1918, in Wauconda, she died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at home.
Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
Mrs. Tritz was a member of the VFW Auxiliary #867 in Mundelein and a member of Santa Maria del Popolo Churchin Mundelein.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Tritz; children, Donald (Jaye) Tritz of Genoa City, Wis., Marilyn (Jack) Mapes of Normal, Ill. and Thomas (Laurie) Tritz of Wildwood; and grandchildren, Adam and Matthew Tritz, Matthew and Courtney Mapes, and Kelly, Heather and Daniel Tritz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
Arrangements were made by Kristan Funeral Home, P. C., Mundelein.

Mary A. Wettstein of Ingleside
Services and interment for Mary A. Wettstein, 85, will be private.
Born Dec. 28, 1913, in Chicago, she passed away Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at the Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Zion.
She leaves her daughters, Lorraine Garwood and Rosemary (Fred) Krueger; sons, Norman (Marlene) Wettstein, Robert (Ann) Wettstein, Richard (Judy) Wettstein and Gerald Wettstein; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Wettstein.
Arrangements were made by Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake.
