Robert Franco of Schaumburg
Prayers for Robert Franco, 65, will be said at 9 a.m. Monday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Rd., Schaumburg. Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Hubert Church, Hoffman Estates.
Born April 6, 1934, in Chicago, he died Friday, July 9, 1999, in Elgin. Entombment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
He was a long standing member of the IBEW Local 134 and active in Schaumburg community affairs.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria (nee LaBarbera); children, Denice (David) Unger of Kennesaw, Ga., Diane (James) Hartel of Elgin and Robert X. Franco Jr. of Schaumburg; granddaughter, Alexa Hartel; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Masses appreciated or memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1440 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607.

Christine B. Frey formerly of St. Charles
A funeral Mass for Christine B. Frey, 84, of Laguna Hills, Calif., will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. John Neumann Church in St. Charles.
Born Oct. 19, 1914, in Aurora, to Lewis and Vera Banks, she died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at Saddleback Memorial Hospital, Laguna Hills. Entombment will be in North Cemetery, St. Charles.
Mrs. Frey was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in St. Charles and the Silver Foxes.
Surviving are her daughter, Delores (Alan) Spriet of Mission Viejo, Calif.; grandchildren, Deborah (Frank) Burruel of San Clemente, Calif., Scott Spriet of Mission Viejo and Stephen Spriet of New Port Coast, Calif.; and niece, Beatrice (Richard) Porch of Huntington Beach, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Frey, in 1990; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles, where a liturgical wake service will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Michael W. `Mike' Frisch of Mount Prospect
A funeral Mass for Michael W. `Mike' Frisch, 53, of Mount Prospect, formerly of Peoria, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Raymond Church, Elmhurst Road (Route 83) and Lincoln Street, Mount Prospect.
Born Sept. 29, 1945, in Peoria, he died Wednesday, July 7, 1999. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mr. Frisch was a graduate of Southern Illinois University. For several years he both taught and served as assistant principal at St. Raymond School. Mr. Frisch had also been a trader at the Mid America Commodity Exchange and most recently was the owner of the Stars and Stripes Flag Company.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Frisch (nee Hefner); sons, Mark and Brian Frisch; mother, Betty Frisch; brothers, John and Frank Frisch; sisters, Janet and Jeannie; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Frisch, and his son, Alex.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mount Prospect, and from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, at the church.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Larry `Swede' Froid of Hanover Park
Funeral services for Larry `Swede' Froid, 68, will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg.
Born Feb. 3, 1931, in Chicago, he passed away Thursday, July 8, 1999, while fishing in Wisconsin. A private family interment will be held in Glen Oak Cemetery, Hillside.
He was the loving father of Lisa (John) Spears of McHenry, Jeff Spears of Hanover Park and Lorna (Dennis) Battaglia of Lake in the Hills; proud grandfather of John, Scott and Carrie Spears, and Jennifer and Corey Battaglia; and dear son of Elizabeth A. Froid of McHenry and the late Sven H. Froid. He is also fondly remembered by Nancy Froid.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Erwin H. Goettsche formerly of the Des Plaines area
Services for Erwin H. Goettsche, 84, of Park Falls, Wis., will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
Born Nov. 7, 1914, in Chicago, he died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Park Manor Nursing Home in Wisconsin. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
A carpenter and resort owner, he is survived by his sister, Myrtle (Robert) Miller of Wisconsin; nieces, Mary Ann (James) Yates of California, and Rita Kottler and Linda Miller, both of Wisconsin; nephew, Ronald (Judy) Goettsche of Des Plaines; cousin, Helen Warzynski of Chicago; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 820 Davis St., Suite 420, Evanston, IL 60201.

Ronnie A. Graf
Memorial services for Ronnie A. Graf, 38, of Montello, Wis., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.
Born Aug. 1, 1960, in Elgin, he died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at his home. Burial of cremains will follow the services in Randhill Park Cemetery, Palatine.
Mr. Graf is survived by his son, Eric Graf of Oconomowoc, Wis.; daughter, Rianna Graf of Oconomowoc; grandmother, Margaret Oberg of Deland, Fla.; brother, Walter A. (Ellen Sue) Graf Jr. of Portland, Maine; sister, Lou Ann (Michael Doody) Graf of Elgin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Sharon Graf.

Donald J. Grauel of Elk Grove Village
Services for Donald J. Grauel, 66, will begin with chapel prayers at 10:45 a.m. Monday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road (three blocks south of Biesterfield Road), Elk Grove Village, and continue with Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Julian Eymard Church.
Born in Chicago, he died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at home. Interment will be private.
Mr. Grauel was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. Grauel (nee Mantsch); loving father of Linda (Michael) Gebhardt, Louise Grauel and Diane (Brian) Tedeschi; cherished grandfather of Ellen, Erin and Evan Gebhardt, and Joseph, Nicholas and Amy Tedeschi; dear brother of the late Joseph (the late Irene) Grauel; and fond uncle and great-uncle of many.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.

Vanetta E. Hachtel of Elgin
Services for Vanetta E. Hachtel, 79, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin.
Dale Moorhouse will officiate.
Born June 28, 1920, in Elgin, to Fred and Stella (nee Deckert) Fohrman, she died Friday, July 9, 1999, at ManorCare Health Services in Elgin. Burialwill be in Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin.
A lifelong resident of Elgin, Mrs. Hachtel was a member of Park Manor Bible Chapel of Elgin.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary (Heinz) Buechsel of Wettenberg, Germany; grandchildren, Markof St. Louis, Mo., Tim of Newberg, Ore., and Ruth of Germany; sisters, Louise Olesen of Riverside, Calif., Ida (William) Stephens of Elgin and Alice (Dan) Peters of Florida; and brother, Harold (Virginia) Fohrman of Godfrey, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward P. Hachtel, in 1992; and four brothers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Park Manor Bible Chapel, Elgin.

Victor Henrietta of Round Lake
Services and interment for Victor Henrietta, 82, of Round Lake, will be private.
Born July 5, 1917, in El Paso, Texas, he passed away Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at his home.
Victor was an avid bingo player at St. Gilbert Catholic Church in Grayslake. A veteran, he had served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Makaryk; grandchildren, Steven Henrietta, Phillip Henrietta, Michelle Cruz, Sherrie Cruz and Dean Flores; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Paige; brother, Bill Henrietta; niece,Barbara Foltz; and nephew, Gary Henrietta.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Henrietta; son, Victor Steven Henrietta; and brother Oliver Henrietta.
Contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
Arrangements were made by Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake.

Hurles `Les' Jones of Elgin
Services for Hurles `Les' Jones will be held at noon Monday, at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Chapel, Elgin. Rev. Philip Ballmairer of Calvary Chapel in Elk Grove Village will officiate.
Born April 13, 1928, in Barbourville, Ky., he died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Hospice of the North Shore in Skokie. Burial will be in Dundee Township Cemetery, East Dundee.
Les had been a resident of Elgin for the last 36 years. He worked as an auto and bus mechanic for the City of Elgin for 18 years. His skills as a mechanic were extraordinary, which led him to open and operate Les's Mobil Service, which he owned independently. Les and his wife, Eloise,operated the business together.
They became well known for their honest and caring manner of service to the community. Eby Brown used Les's Mobil Service exclusively for their maintenance and repair of all their delivery trucks in Elgin. Les's Mobil Service was located at 152 N. Spring St. in Elgin, where the police department now stands. He retired due to illness. He was a loving husband to Eloise for 49 years. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Les was a very caring and loving man who believed in God. He always went out of his way to lend a helping hand to others. Les's beautiful blue eyes and warm smile will be greatly missed, not only by his family, but also by the Elgin community.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Arnett Jones, whom he married on March 3, 1950; daughters, Deborah (Robert) Russell of San Diego, Calif. and Sheila (Jerry) Zabin of Skokie; grandchildren, Sara and Miles Zabin of Skokie; and sister, Thelma (Jack) Little of Upland, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 9701 Knox Ave., 3rd Floor, Skokie, IL 60076.
