Wilda Mae Shamrock of West Chicago
Services for Wilda Mae Shamrock, 84, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Norris-Walen Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. Rev. Welton Warkentin will officiate.
Born Feb. 10, 1915, she passed away peacefully on Friday, July 9, 1999, at home. Burial will be in Glen Oak Cemetery, West Chicago.
A lifelong resident of West Chicago, she was also a life member of First Congregational of West Chicago. A retired bookkeeper for Cassidy Tire Company in Chicago after 30 years of service, Mrs. Shamrock loved her cat and supported animals all of her life.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lillian Sloves of Geneva, and was preceded in death by her husband, John Shamrock, in 1965; parents, Cora and Curtis Williams; sister, Mareta Williams Lindhorn; and brother, Harold C. Williams.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Contributions in Mrs. Shamrock's memory may be made to the First Congregational Church of West Chicago, 525 N. Neltnor Blvd., West Chicago, IL 60185.

Joanna P. Sheehan of Glen Ellyn
Prayers for Joanna P. Sheehan, 61, formerly of Addison, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd. (one blocks east of Naperville Rd. ),Wheaton. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Church, Glen Ellyn.
Born Feb. 9, 1938, in Rome, N. Y., she died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Joanna was raised in Rome, N. Y. and was a cashier at Dominick's Food Store for 24 years, retiring in October 1998.
She was the beloved wife of Dennis; dear mother of Wendy (Daniel) Jordan, Patrick (Birute) and Dennis; loving grandmother of Michelle, Alexis, Nicole and Brandon; devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria Petrelli; fond sister of Virginia (Joseph) Consiglio, Anthony (Marie) Petrelli and Joseph (Anita) Petrelli; and dear daughter-in-law of Charlotte and the late Patrick Sheehan.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, 2160 S. First Ave., Maywood, IL 60153, are appreciated.

Jean `Skokie' Skokowski of Gurnee
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jean `Skokie' Skokowski (nee Cankar), 83, of Gurnee and formerly of Waukegan, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee.
Born June 18, 1916, in Waukegan, she died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at Provena St. Therese Medical Center. Burial will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Skokowski had assisted her husband, Al, in managing Skokie's Lounge in North Chicago. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee and was a former member of Mother of God Church.
She was also a past president of the North Chicago VFW Women's Auxiliary and a member of St. Mary's Lodge K. S. K. J.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Jean Slovnik of Gurnee and Patricia Skokie of Gurnee; grandchildren, Kristan (Kevin) Tuohy, and Frank, Joel and Amy Slovnik; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Stanley (Flo) Cankar of Waukegan and Joseph Cankar of Gurnee; sisters, Fritzi (Tom) Lisk of Antioch, Mimi (Bill) Witek of Gurnee and Millie (Jerry) Tait of Gurnee; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander `Skokie' Skokowski, in 1984, and her brother, John.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.

Angela M. Smith of Bartlett
A memorial visitation for Angela M. Smith (nee Spehar), 78, will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today, at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road), Bartlett.
Born Aug. 20, 1920, in Virginia, Minn., she died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at Heritage Manor in Elgin. Cremation will be private.
Mrs. Smith had been a resident of Bartlett for 44 years.
She was the beloved wife for 48years of Floyd Smith; loving mother of Thomas (Donna) Smith of Huntley, Judith Smith of Bartlett and Alan Smith ofSouth Elgin; cherished grandmother of Kristen, Stephanie and Kimberly Smith; loving daughter of the late Peter andFrances Spehar; dear sister of Ann Larson of Britt, Minn.; and special friend of Ardell Simons.
Memorials may be made to the Senior Services Association, Inc., 101 S. Grove Ave., Elgin, IL 60120.

Albert Leo Streich formerly of Mount Prospect
A funeral Mass for Albert Leo Streich will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Isaac Jogues Church, Fourth and Clay Streets, Hinsdale. Interment will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.
Albert was a graduate of Columbia Business College. He was a member of the Chicago Real Estate Boardfor 35 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Northwest Builders Association and the Suburban Northwest Real Estate Association. He retired as president of the Manhatten Realty Company and was a member of the Northwest Builders Real Estate Association. He will be remembered as one of the first Oak Street Beach lifeguards.
He was the beloved husband for 68 years of Helen; loving father, of Joyce (Robert) Anderson and Gail (Robert) Mahaney; brother of the late Marie (Herbert) Gatz, Lester (Evelyn) Streich and Vivian (Harold) Jensen; dear grandfather of 10; and great-grandfather of 17.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Elliston Funeral Home, First and Grant Street, Hinsdale.

Mildred Struckman of Elgin
Services for Mildred Struckman, 83, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, and continue with a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Michael Morrissey will be officiating.
Born July 25, 1915, in Barrington, to Henry and Carrie (Freund) Toppel, she died Friday, July 2, 1999, at the Apostolic Christian Resthaven. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin.
Mildred was a resident of Elgin for most of her life. She retired from the Elgin National Watch factory and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elgin.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Struckman, in 1984; one sister; and one brother in infancy.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the services, Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made tothe Apostolic Christian Resthaven.

Lois I. Thomas of Batavia
Private memorial services for Lois I. Thomas, 69, will be held Tuesday, at Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, Batavia. Rev. Philip D. Lund will officiate.
Born Dec. 18, 1929, the daughter of Gustav and Marie (nee Johnson) Carlson, she passed away Friday, July 9, 1999, at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles. Interment will be in West Batavia Cemetery.
Lois was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia. She enjoyed working with arts and crafts and was noted for her works in oil, water colors and charcoal. She also enjoyed the great outdoors, gardening and garage sales. She devoted her life to her beloved family and will be dearlymissed.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Thomas of Batavia; sons, Dennis (Charlene) Thomas of Batavia and David (Martha) Thomas of Elburn; grandchildren, Hayley, Heather, Chad and Damon Thomas; and stepgrandchildren, Shawn, Timothy and Cody Carey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Thomas, with whom she was united in marriage on Oct. 16, 1948, in Batavia; and her twin sister in infancy.

Lavara Walker of Bensenville
Memorial services for Lavara Walker (nee Ricks), 91, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at St. John United Church of Christ, Roselle and Algonquin Roads, Palatine. Dr. John Bell will officiate and Rev. Ronald Pribyl will assist.
Born in Henry County, Ind., she died Monday, July 5, 1999, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery, Richmond, Ind.
Mrs. Walker was a retired legal secretary. She had previously lived with her daughter, Marilyn Buban, in Mount Prospect since 1994, and prior to that, had been a 50-year resident of Richmond, Ind.
She was the wife of the late Waldo Walker, Walter H. Eggert and Donald L. Miller; mother of Marilyn J. Miller (the late Joseph E.) Buban; grandmother of Kathleen (John) Diem of Elgin, Jeffrey M. (Rhonda) Buban of Elgin and Anthony J. (Victoria) Buban of Geneva; great-grandmother of Michael, Stephen and Meghan Diem, Jeffrey and Amy Buban, and James, Allyssa and Anna Buban; daughter of the late Walter and Helen Ross Ricks; sister of Mary R. Platts of New Castle, Ind. and the late William L. Ricks and Janet Martin; and aunt and cousin of many.
Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ.
Arrangements were made by Matz Funeral Home, Mount Prospect.

Richard M. `Dick' Willets of Buffalo Grove
Services and interment for Richard M. `Dick' Willets, 87, will be private.
Born May 3, 1912, he died Friday, July 9, 1999, at home.
Mr. Willets had been employed from 1935 to 1959 as director of sales for Swift & Company, in New York and Chicago, 1959 to 1969 as vice president of International Sales & Marketing for Federal Tool Division Proven Products in Lincolnwood, 1969 to 1986 as president/owner ofthe NewMar Corporation in Niles, and 1986 to 1992 as special markets manager for Neil Enterprises, Inc. in Vernon Hills. Dick was an avid `scratch' golfer all of his adult life and a member of Brookwood Country Club in Addison from 1972 until 1979.
Survivors include his wife, Edith (nee Davis); son, Rick (Mary); daughters, Patricia Willets and Laurie (Dan) Willets Heagstedt; grandchildren, Brad, Rick, Chris, Shawn and Eric; and great-grandchildren, Bradley, Ryan, Rachel and Bethany.
Arrangements were made by Grove Memorial Chapel, Buffalo Grove.

Helen M. Wyczawski of Wheaton
Services for Helen M. Wyczawski, 81, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, and continue with a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Michael CatholicChurch, West and Illinois St., Wheaton.
Born Aug. 17, 1917, in Chicago, she died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at a family home in West Chicago. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery.
A Wheaton resident since 1953, she had worked inthe mail department of Fiat Allis in Carol Stream and the Carol Stream Kmart store. She enjoyed regular meetings with a group of other women at the Yorktown Mall on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Survivors include her children, Stanley P. (Marge) Wyczawski of Phoenix, Ariz., Geraldine (Hank) Calay of West Chicago and Dorothy (Gary) Pleitgen of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Andy and Natasha Wyczawski, Shawn and Bridget Calay, Tina Culbert and Kimberly Flammer; and great-grandchildren, Marlee, Logan and Anastasia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wyczawski.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
