Friedrich A. Tantius of Round Lake Beach
Funeral services for Friedrich A. `Fred' Tantius, 83, will be held at 5 p. m. Sunday at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake. Pastor Richard Rubietta will officiate.
Born Jan. 4, 1916, in Germany, he passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at his home. Inurnment will be privately held.
Mr. Tantius had been employed by the maintenance department of Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago before retiring in 1981. He had lived in Round Lake Beach for more than 20 years and had formerly lived in Chicago.
He leaves his loving children, Anneliese Reed Skokie and Dieter (Charlotte) Tantius of Northbrook; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Liesel Mastwyk of Holland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Anna Tantius.
Friends of the family may visit at the funeral chapel from 2 p. m. until the time of services Sunday.

Emma Dale Wilder of Rolling Meadows
Funeral services for Emma Dale Wilder (nee Taylor), 77, will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.
Born June 20, 1921, she died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999. Private interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A homemaker, she was the wife of the late Clausen A. Wilder Sr.; mother of Clausen A. (Judy M.) Wilder Jr., Alexis Towler, Adele (Brian) Forbes and Jeanette (Michael) Thompson; grandmother of Alise, Jennifer, Kevin, Matthew, Megan and Conner; and greatgrandmother of Bradley.
Visitation will be from 10 a. m. until the time of services, Saturday, at the funeral home.

Patricia Wynne (nee Fitzgerald), 94, of Oak Brook, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Arrangements were made by Humes Funeral Home, Addison, (630) 628-8808.

Bertha `Bea' Marzano formerly of Elmwood Park and Northbrook
A funeral Mass for Bertha `Bea' Marzano, of Naples, Fla., will be held at 10:30 a. m. Monday, at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 7600 W. North Ave., River Forest.
Born July 14, 1907, in Sharpsburg, Pa., she died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at North Collier Hospital in Naples. Entombment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
`Bea' Marzano along with her husband, Roy, founded the Golden Bear Family Restaurants in 1960. She was instrumental in helping to build the chain of family restaurantsto 54, prior to her retirement in 1979. She was a founding officer of the St. Vincent Ferrer Woman's Club and an active member of the St. Williams Woman's Club in Naples. Her unconditional love, support and encouragement for all her family until her last days with us, will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was the wife of 71 years of Roy P.; loving mother of Roy V. (Pat) Marzano, Marisue (Louis) Spillone, Roberta (Noel) Williams and thelate Charles P. (Marlene Gunther) Marzano; grandmother of 13; great-grandmother of 16; mother-in-law of the late Joseph Cortino; and sister of the late Anthony, Frank, Charles and Joseph Saladino.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p. m. Sunday, at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Rd., Rolling Meadows.

Maria M. Alonso of Elgin
Funeral services for Maria M. Alonso, 57, will be held at 10 a. m. today, at O'Connor and Homeier Funeral Home, 364 Division St., Elgin. The Rev. Francisco Nunez will officiate.
Born May 4, 1941, in Puerto Rico, the daughter of Bartolo and Rogelia (nee Badillo) Martinez, she died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Sherman Hospital. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Juan, whom she married April 25, 1959, in Puerto Rico; sons, Juan (Irma) Alonso of Elgin and Orlando (Brenda) Alonso of Elgin; daughter, Marisol Alonso of Elgin; three grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers; and her mother, in Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her father.

Robert S. Altom of Hoffman Estates
Prayer services for Robert S. Altom, 62, will be held at 8 p. m. Sunday, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg.
Born June 15, 1936, in Chicago, he died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999. Private interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
He was a retired electrical inspector for the Chicago Park District.
He was the husband of Mary Lou (nee Giles); father of Todd and Kelley Altom; grandfather of Ali; son-in-law of Lucille and the late Raymond Giles; and brother-in-law of Donna (Michael) Bochenek.
Visitation will be from 5 p. m. until the time of services at 8 p. m., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Josephine Baratta of Bloomingdale
Funeral services for Josephine Baratta (nee Garofalo) will begin at9 a. m. Monday, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road), Roselle, and continue to Villa Scalabrini at 10 a. m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
She was the beloved wife of the late Philip Sr.; devoted mother of Philip (Joan) Jr. and James (Mickey) Baratta; dear sister of Mary(the late Harry) Stoyas, Catherine (the late Philip) Affronti and the late Sam and Angeline; fond grandmother of Joseph Anthony, Christy (Robert) Guarenti, Steven (Cathy), Michael (Elizabeth), James (Sara) and Anthony (Peggy) Baratta; dear great-grandmother of Lauren Baratta and Gianna Guarenti; and dear aunt of James Garofalo and Danny Affronti.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p. m. Sunday, at the funeral chapel.

Terri Baseggio of Crystal Lake
A funeral Mass for Terri Baseggio, 48, was celebrated earlier this week at Resurrection Catholic Church, Crystal Lake.
Born March 13, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Raymond and Eileen (nee Larson) Potvin, she died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
Terri's lifelong dream came true eight years ago when she became a fifth grade elementary school teacher in the Huntley school district.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Baseggio of Crystal Lake; children, Brian Baseggio of Chicago and Erica Baseggio of Crystal Lake; sisters, Toni (Bill) Bault of Minnesota and Dottie (Rob) Accurso of Missouri; brother, Bob (Jennifer) Potvin of Bartlett; 14 nieces and nephews; and the hundreds of children whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the family.

Gerald L. Beyer of Wauconda
Services for Gerald L. Beyer, 71, a resident of Wauconda for 57 years, will be held at 11 a. m. today, at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda.
Born July 24, 1927, in Cambria, Wis., he passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Winchester House in Libertyville.
Burial will be in Wauconda Cemetery.
Prior to his death, Gerald was the Wauconda Township Clerk and a former Wauconda Township Trustee. He was an Army veteran of World War II, former Lake County Contractor, former Mayor of Wauconda from 1965 - 1969, Wauconda Township Supervisor for 14 years, former Lake County board member and past commander of American Legion Post #911 in Wauconda. He had been a commissioner for the Wauconda Fire Protection District, member and past worshipful master of Wauconda Lodge #298 A. F. & A. M. and a member of Wauconda Lions Club and VFW in Wauconda.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary (nee English), whom he married on Oct. 30, 1948; sisters, Katherine `Kate' Morrill of Wauconda and Judy Brown of Hot Springs, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Sam Beyer; brothers, Keith, Henry, Paul and Terry; and sisters, Pat I and Pat II.

Richard Burke of Elgin
Funeral services for Richard Burke, 72, will be held at 10 a. m. Monday, at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin.
Born June 27, 1926, in Elgin, the son of Steve and Lydia Strauss Berke, he died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery.
Survivors include his three children, Patricia Frazier of Elgin, Richard (Jan) Burke II of Carpentersville, and Lydia (Jerry) Pennington of Elgin; three grandchildren, Jackelyn Frazier, Myria Garrison and Chaney Garrison, all of Elgin; two sisters, Dorothy Bonin of Texas and Joy Cleveland of South Elgin; and brother, Steve Berke.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mildred.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p. m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Ann M. Cadwell of Palatine
Services for Ann M. Cadwell (nee Delaney), 93, formerly of West Haven, Conn., will be held at 3 p. m. today, at St. Mark Episcopal Church, 337 Ridge Rd., Barrington Hills. Father George Hull will officiate.
Born July 26, 1905, in New Haven, Conn., she died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Manor Healthcare in Rolling Meadows. Graveside burial services will be held at 11 a. m. Wednesday, at Center Cemetery, Branford, Conn.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Palatine Senior Center.
Survivors include her son, Ernest E. (Jackie) Cadwell Jr. of Chelmsford, Mass.; daughter, Shirley C. (Robert) Horn of Palatine; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Frank (Mary) Delaney.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Cadwell; brothers, Edward and George; sister, Mildred; and parents, Dennis and Ann Doran.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Mark Episcopal Church, 337 Ridge Rd., Barrington Hills, IL 60010.
