Theodore Budz of Des Plaines
Services for Theodore Budz, 81, a resident of Des Plaines for 41 years and formerly of Chicago, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at G. L. Hills Funeral Home,745 Graceland, Des Plaines, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Zachary Church, Des Plaines.
Born June 25, 1918, in Chicago, he died Saturday, July 10, 1999, at home. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mr. Budz was a veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He was also a member of the Berwyn Moose Lodge 424 and the St. Zachary Goldenaires.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Julie Budz (nee Brey); sons, Jack (Carrie) and Dr. Jerome Budz; grandchildren, Adam, Dartagnon and Tristan; and sister, Louise Kmiec.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Donald L. Clute of Elgin
Memorial services for Donald L. Clute, 75, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, at Epworth United Methodist Church. Dr. Thomas Potenza will officiate.
Born June 22, 1924, in Oneonta, N. Y., the son of George and Angeline Clute, he died Saturday, July 10, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital. Private interment will be in Washington Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery in Elgin.
A resident of Elgin most of his life, he served as Kane County Auditor for 24 years, retiring in 1988. He then worked as a legislative aid for Delores Doederlein, Steven Rauschenberger and Doug Hoeft.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 8th Air Force in England, he was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and former member of the Elgin Jaycees and Elgin Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Margaret; daughter, Candace (Jerry) Nering of Punta Gorda, Fla.; sons, David (Christine) Clute of Bailey, Colo. and Richard Clute of Elgin; and grandsons, Daniel and Patrick Clute.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be at the time of the services only.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
Arrangements were made by Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.

Joanne M. Cordes of Mount Prospect
A funeral Mass for Joanne M. Cordes (nee Barkus), 64, will be heldThursday, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Becket Church, 1321 Burning Bush Lane, Mount Prospect. She will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Born Oct. 4, 1934, in Chicago, she died Monday, July 12, 1999, at Holy Family Medical Center, Des Plaines. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Joanne was a school teacher, former president of American Association of University Women, and a member of Theta Alpha Sorority at Loyola University.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Richard (Theresa), Robert, Kathleen and Karen; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Jendreau, and Timothy and Lauren Cordes.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Rd., Mount Prospect.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

Ruth E. Dasher formerly of Libertyville
Services for Ruth E. Dasher, 93, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Park and Garfield Avenues, Libertyville, with the Rev. Martin E. Schoell, pastor, officiating.
Born Jan. 7, 1906, in Libertyville, she passed away Saturday, July 10, 1999, at Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander, Wis. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery following the services.
Mrs. Dasher spent most of her life in Libertyville until 1992 when she moved to live with her daughter in Rhinelander.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Libertyville and was a former cook at Rondout School. Ruth was also a seamstress and, in addition, owned and operated the Village Pantry Restaurant.
Surviving are her sons, Carl Dasher of Gurnee and Marcus (Joyce) Dasher of Libertyville; daughters, Betty (Nello) Pagliai of Gurnee, Marilyn (George) Priebe of Lewisville, Texas, and Patricia (Donald) Dove of Rhinelander; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Henrietta (nee Batz) Seiler; husband, Herman Dasher; daughter, Phyllis Ackley; son, Charles Dasher; brothers, Bud, Carl and John Seiler; and sister, Minnie Gardner.
Friends of the family may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Donald E. Deuster of Mundelein
Services for Donald E. Deuster, 69, of Sylvan Lake, Mundelein, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176),Libertyville, followed by a two-block walking procession led by a Dixieland band past his beloved gardens to the First Presbyterian Church for services at 10 a.m.
Born Sept. 26, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Bud and Dorothy Deuster, he passed away Saturday, July 10, 1999, at his home, from colon cancer. Interment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Milwaukee, following the services.
Mr. Deuster had been a Sylvan Lake resident for the past 35 years. A graduate of Ripon College in Wisconsin, he received his law degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and then served in the Army during the Korean War with the rank of first lieutenant.
Don began his career in the legal department at Kemper Insurance Company as a legislative assistant to Mr. J. S. Kemper. He later became an administrative assistant to Congressman Robert McClory and a congressional liason for former president Richard Nixon. At that time, he worked for the U. S. Department of Transportation and was instrumental in passing the Amtrak bill. Don returned to Illinois in 1971 and became an elected state representative from 1973 to 1983. He later opened a law office in Libertyville and formed and served as president of the Young Republicans Club.
Don was a deacon, elder, teacher and current member of the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville. He was also past president and Paul Harris fellow of the Mundelein-Vernon Hills Rotary Club, former director for the Lake County YMCA, past president of the Fremont School PTA, and, in 1960, had his own television show on Channel 11 called `Get Into Politics. ' A man of many talents, Don was a master gardener, receiving an award from the Village of Libertyville for his gardens on Route 176. He was also an artist who loved to paint and a musician. Don played the trumpet as a child and was in `Ripley's Believe It or Not' as the `Youngest Trumpet Player' at age two.
He also played the piano `in the key of C.' Don's favorite music was jazz, Dixieland and anything by Louis Armstrong.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Katharine B. Deuster of Sylvan Lake; daughters, Mary (Larry) Schmitt of Downers Grove, Ruth (Bill) Oran of St. Charles, Jane (Jerry) Nichilo of Wheaton and Anne Deuster of Sylvan Lake; and grandchildren, Michael and David Schmitt, Dylan and Kyle Oran, and Brian, Leah, Lauren and Jeff Nichilo.
Friends of the family may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

William Doersam of Schaumburg
Services for William Doersam, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.), Streamwood/Schaumburg.
Born July 31, 1923, in Columbus, Ohio, he died Sunday, July 11, 1999, at home.
Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
A 26-year Schaumburg resident, he was the husband for 53 years of Pauline Doersam (nee Bauer); father of William (Zita) Doersam of McHenry and Pauline Kuhn of Mukwonago, Wis.; grandfather of Anthony W. Doersam, Eric Doersam, Michael Doersam and Nicholas Kuhn; brother of Anna C. (late Paul) Doelker, Effie L. Doersam, Lena Doersam, Edwin C. (Donna) Doersam and the late Doris Younkin and Barbara (Jim) Frank; and uncle of many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Church of the Cross, 475 W. Higgins, Hoffman Estates, IL 60195, would be appreciated.

Elizabeth `Betty' Ehlen of Lake Forest
Services for Elizabeth `Betty' Ehlen (nee Hoffmann), 96, will begin with prayers at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at BurnettDane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville, and continue with Mass at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville.
Born April 15, 1903, in Chicago, she passed away Thursday, July 8, 1999, at the Westmoreland Home of Lake Forest Hospital. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, following Mass.
Formerly of Inverness and Des Plaines, Mrs. Ehlen had lived in Lake Forest for the past seven years. She was a former member of the Resurrection Hospital Auxiliary in Chicago.
Betty was a special mom to Mary Adams; dear grandmother of Michael Mulcrone; and great-grandmother of Tiffany, Kylee and Logan Mulcrone. Also surviving are her nieces, Lyn Westphal, Paula Geddes and Jean Merrill; and several great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ehlen, in 1979; and sisters, Evelyn Klicka and Irene Schuler.
Friends of the family may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of prayers at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

E. Karl Faitz of Wildwood
Services for E. Karl Faitz, 66, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 Cemetery Road, Gurnee.
Born Aug. 16, 1932, in Chicago, he died Saturday, July10, 1999, at St. Therese Hospital. Burial will be private.
Mr. Faitz had been director of building and zoning in Oak Lawn for more than 20 years, in Vernon Hills for 10 years and in Libertyville for eight years, prior to his retirement in December 1998. He was past president of BOCA, an Eagle Scout and a member of the Lake County Mounted Posse.
He was the beloved husband of Betsy Faitz; loving brother of Stanton A. (Janet) Faitz; dear uncle of Christine (James) Waiter; and great-uncle of Julia Waiter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Harriet Faitz.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Breast Cancer Association or a charity of donor's choice.

A. Thomas Frank formerly of Glenview
A memorial service for A. Thomas Frank, 74, of Rio Verde, Ariz., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at St. David Episcopal Church, Glenview.
Mr. Frank was a Purple Heart veteran of the Army, serving in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne of Rio Verde; son, Thomas (Bridget) of Glenview; daughters, Margaret (Steven) Magnusen of Vernon Hills and Beth (Paul) Evans of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and sister, Nancy (Donald) Engle of North Oaks, Minn.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Larry `Swede' Froid of Hanover Park
Funeral services for Larry `Swede' Froid, 68, were held at 8 p.m. Monday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, Schaumburg.
Born Feb. 3, 1931, in Chicago, he passed away Thursday, July 8, 1999, while fishing in Wisconsin. A private family interment will be held in Glen Oak Cemetery, Hillside.
He was the loving father of Lisa (John) Spears of McHenry, Jeff Froid of Hanover Park and Lorna (Dennis) Battaglia of Lake in the Hills; proud grandfather of John, Scott and Carrie Spears, and Jennifer and Corey Battaglia; and dear son of Elizabeth A. Froid of McHenry and the late Sven H. Froid. He is also fondly remembered by Nancy Froid.

Grace E. Grigsby
Services for Grace E. Grigsby (nee Hedeman), 88, of Northbrook, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Geils Funeral Home, 180 S. York Street, Bensenville.
Pastor Carl Bassett will officiate.
Born Sept, 30, 1910, in Franklin Park, she died Saturday July 10, 1999, at Highland Park Hospital. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst.
She is survived by her children, Viola Kenny, Richard (late Stephanie) Grigsby and Melvin (Shelly) Grigsby. She was the dear grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother of many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
