Joseph F. Caputo Jr. of Round Lake Beach
Services for Joseph F. Caputo Jr., 55, will be held at 10:30 a. m. Monday, at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Caputo passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
A resident of Round Lake Beach for 25 years, he was an employee of Rouquette Corp. for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Caputo; son, Joseph F. Caputo III; daughter, Mandy (Paul) Schneider; grandchildren, Cody and Austin; and many loving nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters.
Friends and family may visit from 4 to 9 p. m. Sunday, at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

Florence Cook formerly of Wheaton
A memorial service for Florence S. Cook, 96, most recently a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream and formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton, will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, at College Church in Wheaton, located on the corner of Washington and Seminary Streets, Wheaton.
Born July 6, 1902, in Denver, Colo., she died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Johnson Healthcare Center. Interment will be private, in Wheaton Cemetery.
Mrs. Cook was a missionary with the Orinoco River Mission in Venezuela, South America for seven years. Later she was a stenographer at Wheaton College and also at Chicago Title and Trust Company. She was a member of College Church for many years.
Surviving are her sons, Harold D. (Liz) and Gilbert (Nancy) Cook; grandchildren, Jim (Becky), Cathy, Ed and Bruce Cook, Ginny (Ted) Kundrat, Shirley (Roy) Bodett and Diane (Larry) Holder; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Sarah and Rachel Cook, Elissa, Laura and Justine Cook, Sarah and Nora Kundrat, and Erik and Lauren Bodett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Cook, in August 1975; brother, John Hosie; and sisters, Mary Williams and Agnes Linsel.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p. m. Sunday, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.
Memorials may be directed to the College Church Missions Fund, 330 E. Union St., Wheaton, IL 60187.

Hattie Crowley of Elgin
Services for Hattie Crowley, 89, were held earlier this week at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. The Rev. John Smith officiated.
Born Aug. 30, 1909, she died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Asta Care Center in Elgin. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery.
Ms. Crowley, an Elgin resident for many years, owned and operated Crowley's Laundry and Cleaners before retiring.
She is survived by her daughters, Annie (James) Raines and Gladys Edinburgh of Milwaukee, Wis. and Dori McWilliams and Betty (Eddie) Stephenson of Aurora; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Juanita Taylor; three sisters; and three brothers.

Florence L. Demith of the Grayslake area
A Mass of the Resurrection for Florence L. Demith, 72, will be celebrated at 10 a. m. Saturday, at St. Gilbert's Church in Grayslake.
She passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, following Mass.
Mrs. Demith was a resident of the Grayslake area for 46 years. She was a member of St. Gilbert's Church and also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Precious Blood Auxiliary, the Round Lake American Legion Post 1170 Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary and the Wildwood Women's Club.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Demith; children, Dennis (Sandy) Demith, Janet (Richard) Bell, Linnet (James) Miller and Mark (Kathy) Demith; grandchildren, Michelle, Colleen, Heather, Eric, Aaron, Ryan, Angie, Jason, Amanda, Janet and Karen; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may visit from 6 to 9 p. m. today, at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.

Stanford O. Ege of Geneva
Memorial services for Stanford O. Ege, 88, of Geneva and Naples, Fla., will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, at Geneva United Methodist Church, 211 Hamilton St., Geneva. The Rev. Larry Hilkemann will officiate.
Born April 16, 1910, in Duluth, Minn., to Gustav and Nicolena Ege, he died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Ege was a retired investment analyst with Duff & Phelps in Chicago.
Surviving are his daughters, Kathryn Anathan of Wheaton and Elizabeth Wheaton of Greensboro, N. C.; son, Stuart (Shelley) Ege of Naples, Fla.; sisters, Grace Brennan of Duluth and Dorothy (Paul) Sanders of Winona, Minn.; and four granddaughters.
He was precededin death by his first wife, Alice, in 1981, and second wife, Barbara, in 1998.
There will be no visitation.

Ruth Ford formerly of West Chicago
Services for Ruth Ford (nee Hentges), 61, of Langley, Okla., will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 1044 Congress Drive (at Route 59), Bartlett.
Born April 27, 1937, she died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery.
Mrs. Ford was formerly a member of the Hanover Township, `Sweet Adeline's.' Survivors include her husband, John B. Ford; children, Sandra (John) Robertson of West Chicago, Mary (Paul) Rupprecht of Bartlett, Lynda (Peter) Toms of Bolingbrook, John Ford of Oklahoma, Eric (Ann) of Bartlett and Teresa (Lee) Ellison of Oklahoma; siblings, Pat (Arnold) Siegel of Schaumburg and Ronald (Anna) Hentges of Florida; and grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer, Jessica, Steven, Amy, Andrea, Kerstin, Kaitlyn and Kianna.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p. m. Monday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road), Bartlett, and from 10:30 a. m. until the time of services, Tuesday, at the church.

Kloe Marie Grothe of West Chicago
A memorial service for Kloe Marie Grothe, infant daughter of Bonnie Grothe and Jasen Jayne, will be held at 4 p. m. today, at Norris-Walen Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago.
She was born Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, and passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Devon Rose Jayne, at home; maternal grandparents, Richard and Patricia Grothe of West Chicago; and fraternal grandparents in New Port Richey, Fla.

Isom Halsey of Elk Grove Village
Services for Isom Halsey, 99, will be held at 11 a. m. today, at the Lutheran Church of Saint Luke, 410 S. Rush St., Itasca.
Born Sept. 7, 1899, in Independence, Va., he passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at home. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery, Itasca, following the services.
A dairy farmer in his youth, Mr. Halsey spent most of his life as a floral nursery worker. He retired in 1969. A resident of Elk Grove Village since 1965, he was an active member of the Elk Grove Senior Center and a member of the Lutheran Church of Saint Luke in Itasca.
He was the devoted husband for 70 years of Blanche Halsey; beloved father of Maurice (Dorothy) Halsey of Summerville, S. C.; grandfather of Charles (Hattie) Halsey of Columbia, S. C., and Elizabeth (Robert) Brown of Summerville, S. C.; and great-grandfather of Jessie and Heather Halsey, and Whitney and Hannah Brown. One of 11 children, he is also survived by his brother, Thomas Halsey of Gettysburg, Pa.; and sisters, Edna Cornettof Leesburg, Va., Reba Holdaway of Independence, Va. and Lena Summers of Culpepper, Va.
Visitation will be from 10 a. m. until the time of services today, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of Saint Luke, 410 S. Rush St., Itasca, IL 60143.

Ellen F. Heelan of Wheaton
A memorial service for Ellen F. Heelan, 82, will be held at 10:30 a. m. Sunday, at The People's Resource Center, 1506 E. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, IL 60187.
She died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield.
As Captain Ellen Leonard, Mrs. Heelan was commanding officer of the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) detachment at Fort Sheridan, Ill., during World War II. Born in Chicago, Mrs. Heelan was a graduate of St.
Xavier College. She volunteered for the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps shortly after the United States entered World War II. It was at Fort Sheridan that she met her husband, the late Captain Robert W. Heelan, who was post engineer. The two Army captains were married in 1943. After the war, Mrs. Heelan taught at St. Joseph School in Downers Grove and then taught weaving at the DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton. She actively volunteered at the People's Resource Center in Wheaton and was a participant in a large number of social justice, human rights and humanitarian organizations. She was also very active in the Religious Education Community (REC). Despite her military service, she actively supported peace movements. When their children were growing up, the Heelans hosted exchange students from Germany and raised two children who came to the United States from Cuba on the Pedro Pan flights in the early 1960s.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Ellen (Mike Fleischer) Heelan of Downers Grove, Kathleen (Robert) Cass, M. D., Ph. D., of Las Vegas, Nev., and Robin (Mark Hafer) Heelan, D. V. M., of Las Vegas; son, Will Heelan (Patricia Snowden) of Wilmette; and six grandchildren. Included among her family are her two `Cuban'children, Maggie Powalisz of Lemont and Reuben Barreras of Iowa City, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the People's Resource Center.

Josephine Kocian of Wildwood
Private funeral services will be held for Josephine Kocian, 89.
Born March 10, 1909, in Chicago, she passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at her home.
A longtime resident of Lake County, Miss Kocian is survived by her niece, Alberta Stanley of Wildwood.
Arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake.
