Mary Kinney of Wauconda
Funeral services for Mary Kinney (nee Orlando), 68, will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda.
Born Nov. 9, 1930, in Soverign, W. Va., she died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at home. Inurnment will be at a later date in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Kinney had been a resident of Wauconda for 40 years.
She was the beloved wife of Thomas Kinney; loving mother of Etta Lynne (Larry Leske) Kinney and Linda Beth (Jeff) Mulholland; cherished grandmother of Laurin Leske; and dear sister of William (Charlene), Oscar (Carol), Joe Pete (Mary Ellen) and the late Tony (Parma) Orlando. She is also survived by her companion, `Little Bit. ' Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 5p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to Condell Hospice, 115 W. Church St., Libertyville, IL 60048.

Grant Kuhn, 78, of Elgin, died Monday, July 15, 1999. Arrangement were made by Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, (847)741-8800.

James M. `Mac' McDermott of Barrington
Prayers for James M. `Mac' McDermott, 69, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Stirlen-Pieper & Davenport Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington.
Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela St., Barrington.
Born Nov. 30, 1929, in Chicago, he passed away suddenly Friday, July 9, 1999. Burial will be in St. Michaelthe Arcangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Mac was a veteran of the Korean War and a graduate with high honors of Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. His career in property insurance began with 10 years at Industrial Risk Insurers and continued with 30 years at Kemper Insurance Company, until his retirement in 1995. In appreciation of a lifelong affiliation, Mac leaves the bulk of his earthly goods to Catholic Charities of Chicago.
He was the dear brother-in-law of Elizabeth Legan; fond uncle of Joseph Legan; and great-uncle of Cody Legan of El Dorado, Calif.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Masses in his memory will be appreciated by his family and friends.

Jim McMullin of Gurnee
Services for Jim McMullin, 65, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Hunt Club and Gages Lake Roads, Gurnee.
Born in Chicago, he passed away Thursday, July 15, 1999, at the Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, after a 25-year battle with cancer. Interment will be in Warren Cemetery, Gurnee, following the services.
Jim had been an employee of Fannie May Candies before starting his own painting and maintenance company.
Survivors include his wife, Norma McMullin (nee Delfs), whom he wed in 1968; daughter,Kelly McMullin; sister, Shirley Spachner; mother-in-law, Anna Delfs; sisters-in-law, Marge (Joe) Kowalski and Rosemary (Fred) Meyer; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Corso.
Friends and family may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.

Anthony Jesse Negrete of Round Lake
Funeral Mass for Anthony Jesse Negrete, 38, formerly of Chicago, will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, at Justen's Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court (Rosedale Court at Cedar Lake Road), Round Lake.
Born Feb., 10, 1961 to Amador and Frances (Morales) Negrete. He died Tuesday, July 14, 1999, at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
He married Sheila R. Pennington in Round Lake on April 25, 1987. He worked for Daimler Auto Haus/Marathon Service in Round Lake, he had also worked for Sam's Club in Wheeling as a butcher. For the past 18 years he worked for the Grayslake Outdoor RMC Theatre, and he was an avid Elvis Presley Fan. He was a resident of Round Lake for the past 25 years.
Mr. Negrete is survived by his wife, Sheila; his daughter, Tiffany; his mother and father of Round Lake Park; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy and Gwen Pennington of Cleveland, Miss.; sisters, Linda (Scott) Clark of Trevor, Wis., Andrea (Artemio) Castro, Barbara (Salvador) Arreola, and Annette (Tom) McGinley all of Round Lake; brothers-inlaw, Rick Pennington of Round Lake Beach, and Derek Pennington of Cleveland, Miss.; He was preceded in death by his brother Peter, in 1967.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., Monday, and from 8:15 to 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Edward Nicholas of Libertyville
Services for Edward Nicholas, 78, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville, with VFW Post #8741 and the Rev. Lynne E. Stefanowski officiating.
Born Dec. 31, 1920, in East Chicago, he passed away Friday, July 16, 1999, at the home of his daughter in Couderay, Wis.
Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville.
Mr. Nicholas had been aLibertyville resident for the past 48 years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville. An ArmyAir Corps veteran, he had been a bombardier in the European theater during World War II and was a member of Libertyville VFW Post #8741. Mr. Nicholas had been employed as a pipe fitter for the Air-Con Refrigeration and the McDonough Plumbing & Heating companies in Waukegan.
Surviving are his son, David (Colleen) Nicholas of Mesa, Ariz.; daughter, Nancy (Terry) DeMarr of Couderay; grandchildren, Jenny (Joe) Sweeney of Libertyville and Nicholas DeMarr of Courderay; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ma-Ji-Kii-Wis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Nicholas, April 12, 1994, and his grandson, Jason DeMarr, in 1991.
Friends of the family may call from noon until the time of services Monday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in his memory.

Anthony G. `Tony' Pellikan of Streamwood
Services for Anthony G. `Tony' Pellikan, 56, will begin withprayers at 10:15 a.m. Monday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Road), Streamwood/Schaumburg, and continue with Mass at 11 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church.
Born Sept. 27, 1942, in Chicago, he died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin.
He was the beloved husband of Betty F. Pellikan (nee Heraty); loving father of John Pellikan of Streamwood, Tony (Laura) Pellikan of Chicago and Donna (John) Swinford of Chicago; proud grandfather of Jake Swinford; cherished son of Lucille Soulier (nee Smith) and the late Anthony J. Pellikan; and dear brother of Barbara (Bernie) Laufenberg and Cathy Sigourney.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Barbara R. Bassett, R. N. of Des Plaines
Prayers for Barbara R. Bassett (nee Grecco) R. N., 52, will beheld at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, at Matz Funeral Home 410 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect. A 10 a.m. Mass will follow at St. Emily Church, 1400 E. Central Road, Mount Prospect.
Born Dec. 2, 1946, in Chicago, she died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mrs. Bassett was the operations coordinator for Walgreen Company for 15 years.
She was the former president of the St. EmilyParish Council and school board.
She was also a Girl Scout leader and active in many parish activities and civic affairs.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde E. Bassett Jr.; children, Owen Bassett and Alicia Bassett; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

George R. Riley of Bartlett
Services for George R. Riley, 76, will be held at 7 p.m. today, at Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd. ),Bartlett.
Born July 14, 1923, in Walnut Grove, Mo., he died Wednesday, July, 14, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center. Cremation will be private.
An Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a member of VFW Post 5151 and American Legion Post 1212.
He was the husband of Sarah Riley (nee Guccione); father of George Jr. (Joan) Riley of Streamwood and Michael (Susan) Riley of Mundelein; grandfather of Renee Seibert, Dan Riley and Michele (Tom) Pierce; great-grandfather of Taylor and Samantha Pierce; son of the late Ked and Marilu (nee Martin) Riley; and brother of the late Weldon, Thomas, Bill, Floyd and Elsie.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Genevieve A. Safanda of Geneva
Private services were held for Genevieve A. Safanda.
Born in Chicago,she died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva.
Mrs. Safanda had been a resident of Genevasince 1940. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Geneva, a life member and former board member of the Geneva Historical Society, and a life member and former president of the Women's Auxiliary of the former Geneva Community Hospital.
She is survived by her sons, Roy (Janet) and Carl (Elizabeth), both of Geneva; and grandsons,David, John, and Ben.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Sufanda, on July 16, 1966.
The family wishes to thank those who have been so kind in extending their sympathy.

Solomon `Solly' Scharf of Schaumburg
Funeral services for Solomon `Solly' Scharf, 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 208 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg.
Born July 6, 1913, in Maywood, he died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Scharf was a veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was the beloved husband of Ella (nee Spomer), whom he married July 27, 1935; loving father of Joanne (John) Gorman and Mary (Walt) Kreitling; proud grandfather of Janet (Jeffrey) Kruse and Jeffrey (Sheila) Gorman; and great-grandfather of Jessica, Kathleen and Zachary.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Michael's Funeral Home, 800 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.

Lewis W. Solimene of Wauconda
Services for Lewis W. Solimene, 63, will begin with prayers at 9:15 a.m. Monday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at Transfiguration Church, 310 W. Mill St., Wauconda.
The Rev. Tom Enright will officiate.
Born Sept. 6, 1935, in Bronx, N. Y., he died Friday, July 16, 1999, in Cuba Township, Ill. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
He was the beloved husband of Dolores Solimene; loving father of Mick (Keely) Solimene, Lori (Steve) Crane and Jennifer (Mike) Paul; proud grandfather of Alexandra, Arianna, Rachel, Victoria, Ryan, Will and Tyler; dear brother of Joseph (Kathy) and William (Nancy) Solimene; and fond uncle of Matthew and Josephine.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
