Funeral services for Joan S. Chobanian, 64, of Machesney Park, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Cary. Rev Robert Hess will be officiating.
Born June 21, 1935, in Chicago, to George and Viola Klechak, she died Sunday, July 18, 1999, at her home. Burial will be in Windridge Cemetery, Cary.
She is survived by her husband, George, whom she married on June 20, 1953, in Chicago; children, Pamela (Brian) Schuster of Popular Grove, Stephen (Patricia) Chobanian of Cary and Lisa (Chuck) Britton ofBelvidere; grandchildren, Jefferey and Amanda Schuster, Sarah, Justin and Nathan Chobanian and Adam and Lauren Britton; brother, Kenneth (Geraldine) Klechak of Hereford, Texas; and sister, Marilyn (Warren) Lynch of Arlington Heights.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Norm (late Patricia) Klechak.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Rd, Cary.

Stanley A. Czarnowski Sr. of Palatine
Memorial services for Stanley A. Czarnowski Sr., 61, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine.
Born April 9, 1938, in Chicago, he died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Palatine.
Prior to his retirement, Mr Czarnowski had been an automobile dealer in the Barrington, Crystal Lake and Chicago areas for the past 30 years. He had been a resident of Palatine for 28 years.
He was the loving father of Deborah (Jim) Latuszek of Palatine, Mark (Cindy) Czarnowski of Wheaton, Ken (Danelle) Czarnowski of Barrington and Stanley A. (Judy) Czarnowski Jr. of Hoffman Estates; Ompa of Jim Jr., Jennifer, Jordan, Joey, Jena, Julie, Jason, Adam, Lucas, Deanna and Ian; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Hollis Edwards of Wauconda
Prayers for Hollis Edwards, 83, formerly of Algonquin, will be said at 10 a.m. today, at Windridge Memorial Park Chapel, Cary, with interment to follow.
Born Jan. 19, 1916, in Bluffton Ind., she died Sunday, July 18, 1999, at Lexington Healthcare of Lake Zurich.
Mrs. Edwards was a retired assembly worker for 25 years at Oak Manufacturing in Crystal Lake.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Edwards of Wauconda; and sister, Velma Pattee of Lafayette, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edwards; and sister, MarianHupp.

Services for Louie P. Gawlik, 84, formerly a 35-year resident of Franklin Park, will begin with prayers at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville, and continue with Mass at 11 a.m., at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church.
Born July 23, 1914, in Chicago, he passed away Saturday, July 17, 1999, at home. Entombment will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, following the Mass.
Mr. Gawlik was a retired policeman for the city of Franklin Park. A former member of St. Gertrude Parish, he was currently a member of St. Mary of Vernon Parish in Indian Creek.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Reinwald Gawlik of Vernon Hills; son, Robert Gawlik of Norridge; stepchildren, Daniel (Susan) Reinwald of Gurnee, Richard (Cheryl) Reinwald of Crystal Lake and Denise (Michael) Rosenberg of Round Lake Beach; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his sisters, Sophie (the late Stanley) Martin and Stella (the late Edward) Solak of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Angeline; his parents, Albert and Frances Gawlik; one sister; and eight brothers.

Larry R. Gillespie of Naperville

Born June 20, 1951, in Libby, Mont., he died Saturday, July 17, 1999, at home. Interment will be private.
He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Naperville. A graduate of Notre Dame in 1973, he earned his bachelor of arts degree in accounting, later becoming a CPA. A 15-year Naperville resident, he was a very devoted husband and father.
Survivors include his wife, Patti; children, Lisa (Jim) Cox of Iowa, Carrie Gillespie of Naperville and Michael Gillespie of Naperville; granddaughter, Kaci Cox; sister, Gayle (Bruce) Babcock of Virginia; and mother-in-law, Loretta Gargas of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Aggie Gillespie.
Marion Wilson Hazell of Des Plaines

Employed for 30 years at Biwax Corporation, formerly a division of Loctite, she was a member of the Des Plaines Senior Center. Marion's generosity and loving spirit will be missed by her entire family.
She was the wife of the late Arthur M.; mother of Karen (Jack) Kahn and Marilynn (Wayne) Bolton; sister of James (Jackie) Ewen and Janet (late Walter) Benson; grandmother of Ted (Sandy) Kahn, Janet (Kevin) George and Arthur `Dusty' Bolton; and great-grandmother of Kyle George and Jenna George.

Born July 2, 1929, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (nee Thorkelson) Bauldry, she died Sunday, July 18, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry.
Survivors include her son, Jack (Mary Ann) Johnson of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Erik, Melanie, Ryan and Adam Johnson of Crystal Lake; and aunt, Berna Steenbeck of San Diego, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Beverly Jean Kaden formerly of St. Charles
Memorial services for Beverly Jean Kaden, 80, of Iowa City, Iowa, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, at Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third Street, St. Charles.
Born June 30, 1919, in Aurora, to Edward K. and Ethel (nee Black) Barrett, she died Monday July 19, 1999, at the Sterling House in Iowa City, Iowa.
Mrs. Kaden was a longtime resident of Chicago, Eola, Elmhurst and St. Charles.
She was a leader in numerous school, church and community activities. Recently, she served as a docent for Durant-Peterson, Garfield Farm and the Fabyan Estate in Kane County. She was a secretary during her working career for the Charles A. Stevens Company, Maremont Company and Boulevard Bank of Chicago, York High School in Elmhurst and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia.
Mrs. Kaden is survived by her husband, Clarence of Iowa City; daughter, Nancy (Cal)Lilienthal; son, Jeff (Barbara) of Bloomington, Ind.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Virginia Novinger of Phoenix, Ariz.
Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Barrett.

Mr. Lukaszak moved to Chicago as a child. He graduated from Washburn High School and served in the
Army's Glider Infantry during World War II. Mr. Lukaszak married his wife, Irene, Feb. 10, 1946, and they lived on Chicago's South Side until moving to Naperville five years ago. Mr. Lukaszak was employed as a compositor at severalnewspapers over the years, most recently at the Chicago Sun-Times. He was a member of the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Irene (nee Pawlowski) Lukaszak of Naperville; son, Philip (Melodee) Lukaszak of Naperville; and granddaughters, Kristen and Shelley Lukaszak of Naperville.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Lukaszak; brother, JohnLukaszak; sister, Virginia Corcoran; and parents, Walter and Victoria (nee Pruski) Lukaszak.

Prior to the retirement of Mr. Minarcik, he had been employed as an electrician with GTE as a switchboard repairman.
He was also a member of the GTE Telephone Pioneer Association. He was a Navy veteran and a member of thePalatine American Legion Post #690.
Survivors include his children, Frances (Bob) Hanus of Richmond, Ill., Dr. John (Barbara) Minarcik of Vero Beach, Fla., Elizabeth (Mark) Scalpone of Mesa, Ariz., Steve Minarcik of Palatine and Susan (Tim) Hennessy of Hoffman Estates; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in deathby his wife, Anna E. Minarcik; brother, George Minarcik; and sisters, Lillian Korinko and Mildred Matousek.
