Ora Ritsch

HARRISBURG - Ora Helen (Sherrod) Ritsch, 97, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at her home.

Surviving are a daughter with whom she lived, Nina Thompson; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Gaskins Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Eunice Ann Seely

SHAWNEETOWN - Eunice Ann Seely, 66, died Thursday, January 31, 2002, at 9:35 p.m. at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Ind., of cancer.

She was born on December 11, 1935, to Earl and Lillian (Lorenzen) Myers in Texico, Ill. She was a graduate of MacMurray College, was a former Home Bureau Advisor and retired from the Gallatin Democrat Newspaper. She married Daniel Edgar Seely on September 22, 1962, and he preceded her in death on April 11, 1997. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Shawneetown, where she formerly served as a lector and on the parish council. She was an active volunteer of the Shawneetown Boosters Club, American Cancer Society and was a member of the Shawneetown H.E.A. Unit.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, including two nephews, Donald and Sharon Seely of Ridgway and E.T. and Barbara Seely Jr. of Eldorado; two sisters-in-law, Betty Seely of Ridgway and Vina Seely of Monticello, Ind.; a brother-in-law, Norbert Seely of West Branch, Mich.; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Shawneetown, the Fr. Mark Stec officiating, with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4 at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.

Florence Baldwin

McLEANSBORO - Florence Estella Baldwin, 87, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Marion Memorial Hospital.

She was vice president and plant manager of Joseph G. Baldwin Co. and a member of the Department of Human Services Review Board.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a sister, Eurdyce "Buster" Baldwin of McLeansboro; a brother, Joseph G. "Bob" Baldwin of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and nieces.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Harre Funeral Home McLeansboro Chapel, with burial in IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Julia McGrayel
BRIDGEPORT — Julia E. McGrayel, 89, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are cousins, Glenn Murray of Petersburg, Ind., Donald Newell of Lawrenceville, Chlora Dick of Hazleton, Ind., Meredeth Hedge of Bicknell, Ind., Walter Hedge of Vincennes, Ind., and Janice Fields of Edwardsport, Ind.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cunningham Funeral Home Bridgeport Chapel, with burial in Bridgeport City Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home.

Lorene Edlin
ROSICLARE — Lorene "Coonie" Edlin, 87, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Hardin County General Hospital of pneumonia.
Surviving are two brothers, Jim Birch of Rosiclare and Richard Birch of Belknap.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hosick Funeral Home Rosiclare Chapel, with burial in Peters Creek Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Roland Barnett
JUNCTION — Roland Barnett, 91, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at home.
He was a retired farmer, a deacon for 64 years at Leamington Community Church and a 50-year member of Cave in Rock Masonic Lodge 444.
Surviving are his wife, Virgie (Leonberger); five daughters, Jesse Collins of Junction, Wanda Melton of Japan, Velta Angier of Dixon, Verna Franklin of Springfield and Guenda Greer of Murphysboro; two sons, Delbert of Junction and Derrel of Elm City, N.C.; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Audra Mathews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Leamington Church, with burial in Leamington Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church. There will be no visitation at Vickery Funeral Homes Shawneetown Chapel.

Leonard Legg
SUMNER — Leonard Olin Legg, 88, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at United Methodist Village.
He was a farmer, an oil well pumper and state oil well inspector.
Surviving are two daughters, Gloria Devonshire of Robinson and Beth Ann Legg of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Harlie of Sumner; a sister, Elva Cusic of White Oak, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jemima M. (Hardacre); and a son, Leonard.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Petty Cemetery in rural Sumner.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. today at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.

Sadie Blevins
LAWRENCEVILLE — Sadie B. Blevins, 87, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind.
She was a member of Moose Lodge Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Pat Cotton of Lawrenceville and Chloe Zehner of Evansville; two sons, James A. of Olney and Steve of Lawrenceville; four sisters, Iona Jones of Lawrenceville and Lucille Seed, Audie Perrin and Mary McNeil, all of Wood River; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew J. and by four sons.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home Lawrenceville Chapel, with burial in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Lyman Fortner
ALBION — Lyman L. Fortner, 85, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Woodlands Convalescent Center in Newburgh, Ind.
He was a carpenter and a member of Ellery Christian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Janice Jones of Newburgh; a sister, Mary McCollum of Albion; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Jones and Jill Koch; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Elliott); and a son, Robert J.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Cemetery in Ellery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nale?s Funeral Home Albion Chapel.

Jorgen Anderson
HARRISBURG — Jorgen Fredrick Anderson, 67, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn., of heart problems.
He was a manager for Sears for 20 years.
He played basketball for Murray State University in the 1950s. He was a Shriner and a member of Camden, Tenn., Masonic Lodge.
He was a Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, LaWanda (Pierson); three daughters, Karen Olson and Susan Postelnik of Chesterton, Ind., and Nancy Anderson of Texas; a stepdaughter, Nancy Leiffer of Atlanta; a stepson, Philip Turner of Crown Point, Ind.; a brother, Richard C. of Valparaiso, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation and Masonic services were Sunday at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
Reed Funeral Home is handling local arrangements. Condolences may be sent to family members through the obituaries page at www.reedfuneralchapel.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Lexington.

Herschel Thompson Sr.

ALBION - Herschel Berten Thompson Sr., 80, of Lincoln formerly of Albion, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Christian Village in Lincoln.

He was a minister of the Christian Church and retired from the Lincoln Christian College maintenance and custodial departments.

He was a graduate of Lincoln Bible Institute.

Surviving are his wife, Juliett "Judy" (Pierson); three sons, Jimmie Lewis of Ellery, Sharon Lee of Lincoln and Herschel Berton Jr. of Springfield; a sister, Dorothy Huchel of Olney; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Lincoln Christian Church, with burial in Orio Cemetery in rural Allendale.

Friends may call from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Friday at Lincoln Christian Church and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Little Prairie Christian Church in Albion. Nale's Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Christian Church or the Lincoln Christian College.

Willie Maxwell

SUMNER - Willie Maxwell, 89, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Pine Lawn Nursing Home.

There are no immediate survivors.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Sumner City Cemetery. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
