CAVE IN ROCK - Ida Verneta Colbert, 83, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Surviving are three sons, Clarence Donald Milligan, Alvin Bradford Colbert and Kevin Wayne Colbert; two daughters, Thelma Lorene Milligan and Brenda Joyce Ruch; two sisters, Vevith Hobbs and Velma "Dee" Dobbs; a brother, Howard Glenn Ozee; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Potters Church, burial in Ozee Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home.

Charles Craig

OBLONG - Charles O. Craig, 79, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Valley Regional Hospital in Brownsville, Texas.

He retired in 1983 from the production department and was a heavy equipment operator at Marathon Oil Co.

Surviving are his wife, Frances; a son, Terry; a sister, Opal Houser; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a Masonic service at 7:45 p.m., at Pulliam Funeral.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.

Joseph Cross

McLEANSBORO - Joseph E. "Joe" Cross, 83, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital of complications of diabetes..

He was a general laborer.

Surviving are a daughter, Doris J. Trotter; a son, Leslie; and two grandchildren.

Services 11 a.m. Thursday at Gholson Funeral Home, burial in Middle Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Harvey Hoerr

HUTSONVILLE - Harvey Thomas Hoerr, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson.

He retired from Corn Products Co. Surviving is a brother, Stanley.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. with military rites. Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is handling arrangements.

Beatrice Poland

SUMNER - Beatrice A. (Fornshell) Poland, 93, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Methodist Oaks Nursing Home in Orangeburg, S.C.

Surviving are two daughters, Norma Mushrush and Anita Smith; two sisters, Helen Goff and Freda Black; a brother, Kenneth Fornshell; and nine grandchildren.

Services 2 p.m. Friday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, burial in Petty Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time.

J.W. Poole

CARMI - J.W. Charles Poole, 86, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at White County Medical Center.

He owned and operated Poole Body Shop and worked at Rice Motor Co.

Surviving are his wife, Doris; a daughter, Carolyn Land; a sister, Pauline Brantley; two brothers, Dyke and Glenn; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Campbell Funeral Home, burial in White County Memorial Garden. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Opal Prince

McLEANSBORO - Opal Mae (Harland) Prince, 68, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at her home.

Surviving are five daughters, Virginia Allen, Linda Shasteen, Carol Glenn and Katie Leonard; a son, Harold Wayne; a brother, John Harland; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harre Funeral Home, burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time.

Richard Roloff

CARRIER MILLS - Richard Roloff, 78, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Surviving is his wife, Ileta.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Felty Funeral Home, burial in Salem Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday.

Isophine Carnett

HARRISBURG - Isophine (Woods) Carnett, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Ferrell Hospital.

Surviving are a daughter, Ollie Brown; a son, James E.; a brother, Harry Woods; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home, with burial in Jones Cemetery in Equality. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Memorial contributions may be made to Harrisburg Golden Circle.

Hazel Cawood

FLAT ROCK - Hazel (Duncan) Cawood, 95, of Vincennes, Ind., formerly of Flat Rock, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Gentle Care Nursing Center in Vincennes.

She had been a secretary in the Pike County trustee's office and Petersburgh (Ind.) High School principal's office.

Surviving are her daughter, Jamie Williams; two sons, Jim and David L.; a grandchild; and three stepgrandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Jones Cemetery. There will be no visitation at Goodwine Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon Bible Society.

Willard McClaskey

LAWRENCEVILLE - Willard "Red" McClaskey, 77, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

He worked in emulsions for 46 years.

Surviving are his wife, Louise; two sons, Jim and Jesse; a sister, Dorothy Byrd; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, with burial in Billett Cemetery, with military rites. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Norwood Proctor

CARMI - Norwood F. "Woody" Proctor, 85, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at White County Medical Center.

He was deputy sheriff from 1954 to 1958 and sheriff from 1958 to 1962.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Genevieve; a daughter, Woodra Hamilton; two sons, Bill and John; a stepbrother, Paul Moore; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, with burial in White County Memorial Garden.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Campbell Funeral Home.

Michael Scaggs

SUMNER - Michael Keith Scaggs, 42, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Clay County Hospital in Flora.

He was a partner in Team Energy.

Surviving are his wife, Laurie; a daughter, Courtney Scaggs; a son, Christopher; and his parents, Keith and Mary Lou Scaggs.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Cresthaven Memorial Cemetery in Claremont.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.
