DECATUR -- Kledus Modena Corley, 91, Decatur, died Friday (March 30, 2001).

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial: Myers Cemetery, Herrick. Memorials: donor's choice.

Feutz

DECATUR -- Timothy C. "Tim" Feutz, 47, of Decatur died 2:22 a.m. Saturday (March 31, 2001) in St. Mary's Hospital.

There are no services planned at this time. Burial will be at a later date. J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: to the family.

Tim was born Oct. 18, 1953, in Danville, the son of Frank H. and Lillian Lucille Martin Feutz. He was a truck driver for Yellow Freight for eight years and was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 279 and Moose Lodge, Danville. He marr
ied Denise G. Kietzman Jan. 18, 1997, in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife; son, Christopher L. Feutz and wife Jennifer of Green Bay, Wis.; daughter, Hillary B. Feutz of Normal; stepdaughters, Leslie A. Myers and husband Michael of Williamsport, Ind.; Amanda K. Hunter of Rantoul; brother, Chuck Feutz and wife Barb of Westville; three stepbrothers; one stepsister; grandchildren, Kaylin, Madylin and Ashlin Feutz; stepgrandchildren, Lakin and Jake Myers and Austin, H
aley and Aureana Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Meek

DECATUR -- David Felmley Meek, 84 of Decatur died Saturday (March 31, 2001) in Carle Hospital, Urbana.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Westminster Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Private committal services will be before memorial services with military rites by Macon County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Decatur Memorial Hospital, Westminster Presbyterian Church or donor's choice.

Mr. Meek was born May 19, 1916, in Carrollton, the son of Alva Brace and Ruth Felmley Meek. He served in World War II in the infantry at Camp Roberts in California. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1933 and went to University of Illinois, graduating in 1937 in the College of Commerce. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta and business manager of The Daily Illini. After graduation, he went to work for Illinois Power Co. for 42 years. He retired in 1979 as secretary-treasurer. He was a member of Kiwanis Club, where he served as president and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was one of the original founders of Soy Capital Bank and a member of Country Club of Decatur, where he served as president in 1960. He was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. Mr. Meek has been interested in agriculture all his life. He was born and reared on the sesquicentennial family farm now known as Meek Farms Inc. in Carrollton. He married Rosemary Reid June 20, 1942.

Surviving are his wife; sons, David R. Meek and wife Lynn of Westmont; Richard F. Meek and wife Karen of New Fairfield, Conn.; grandchildren, Jeffrey D. Meek and wife Alison of Cincinnati, Ohio; Dr. Douglas J. Meek and wife Elizabeth of Albuquerque, N.M.; Elizabeth Meek and Richard Meek Jr., both of Connecticut; great-grandchildren, Emily and Sara Meek; brother, James B. Meek and wife Barbara of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gollan

DECATUR -- David Richard Gollan, 67, of Decatur died 1:25 a.m. Sunday (April 1, 2001) in Manor Care Nursing Home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials: St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Lutheran School Association.

Mr. Gollan was born May 13, 1933, in Decatur, the son of William and Margaret Brix Gollan. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Mr. Gollan was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a graduate of Millikin University. He was an office clerk for Swain & Meyers and formerly worked for A.E. Staley Mfg. Co.

Surviving are his cousins, Eugene Salefski and wife Lenore, William Salefski and wife Betty, Erwin Salefski and wife Marilois and Wilma Shulke, all of Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul.

Green

DECATUR -- Rosemary Green, 71, Decatur, died Saturday (March 31, 2001). Arrangements incomplete: Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home.

Holmer

DECATUR -- Garland Wayne Holmer, 70, of Decatur died 2:08 p.m. Saturday (March 31, 2001) in Fair Havens Christian Home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes with visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials: American Cancer Society.

Mr. Holmer was born June 7, 1930, in Decatur, the son of Garland and Lora Robb Holmer. He was a member of Northwest Christian Church. He enlisted in the Army Ready Reserve Aug. 23, 1950. He was stationed at Camp McCoy, Wis., with the 847th Field Artillery Battalion, 55th Field Artillery Battalion and the 358th military Police Company Reserve. Mr. Holmer was discharged from the reserves July 15, 1957, as a Sgt. 1st class. In 1979, he graduated from General Motors University of Automotive Management and worked in the service department at Tallman Cadillac from 1950 to 1983. In 1992, he retired from Bob Ridings Lincoln Mercury-Jeep Eagle. He was a member of American Legion Post 105. He married Shirley A Curtis Jan. 23, 1955, in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years; son, Mark S. Holmer and wife Mary Lou of Argenta; daughter, Pamela S. Forrester and husband Glen of Palm Harbor, Fla.; granddaughters, Holly J. Holmer of Argenta; Heather N. Bunnell of Palm Harbor; sisters, Ida M. Campbell of Decatur; Lula Stahl of Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Berry

DECATUR -- Eldon Berry, 93, Orlando, Fla., formerly of Decatur, died Saturday (March 31, 2001). Arrangements incomplete: Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.

Cotton

DECATUR -- Arthur Cotton Sr., 82, of Decatur died 2:05 a.m. Thursday (March 29, 2001) in Aspen Ridge Care Centre.

Services will be noon Tuesday in Walker Funeral Service and Chapel with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Arthur was born Nov. 2, 1918, in Baltza, Miss., the son of Arthur and Ledora Young Cotton. He formerly worked at Wagner Castings Co. He was married to Annie Mae Cotton. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are his son, Arthur Cotton Jr. of Detroit, Mich.; brothers, Elijah (Rosie Lee) Cotton and Quincy (Sam Ella) Cotton, both of Decatur; special friend, Wenona Fitzpatrick of Decatur; aunt, Josie B. Young of Decatur; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sisters, Mildred Cotton, Cora Wilson, Louise Cotton and Elizabeth Snowden.

Metzger

DECATUR -- Robert O. Metzger, 75, of Normal died 6:55 p.m. Thursday (March 29, 2001) in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Normal.

Private family services will be Monday in Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington, with Dr. James Bortell officiating. Visitation was Sunday. Entombment will be East Lawn Mausoleum, Bloomington, with military rites by Carl S. Martin Post 635 American Legion, Normal. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Community Cancer Center, 407 E. Vernon Ave., Normal, IL 61761.

Mr. Metzger was born March 4, 1926, in Pana, the son of William L. and Marguerite E. Brown Metzger. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He attended Illinois State Normal University and was a graduate of Millikin University with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering and a master's degree in education. He worked as a teacher and administrator in the Decatur schools for 20 years and was later head consultant for Industrial Technical and Vocational Education for the State Board of Education in Springfield for 16 years before retirement. He received many educational awards and recognition during his lifetime. He was an Eagle Scout and former scoutmaster. Mr. Metzger was a member of Prairie Avenue Christian Church in Decatur. He enjoyed doing things for others, being a loving, helpful grandfather and a friend to all. He married Helen Gerzen Sept. 16, 1978, in Normal.

Surviving are his wife; stepdaughter, Susan Lynn (D. Paul) Jefferson of Bloomington; brothers, Eugene Metzger of Lapeer, Mich.; Wilbur (Doris) Metzger of Pana; Roger (Claudia) Metzger of Decatur; sister, Doris Barding of Pekin; stepgranddaughters, Sara Lynn Ensenberger, Erin Elizabeth Ensenberger and Jessica Jordan Ensenberger.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ryan

DECATUR -- Sister Patricia Ryan OSU, 93, of Alton died peacefully Thursday (March 29, 2001) in the Ursuline Infirmary, Alton.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday in St. Thomas Church, Decatur, with the Rev. Dennis Kollross officiating. She donated her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine. Staten Funeral Home, Alton, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Ursuline Sisters Retirement Fund, 210 Glennon Heights Road, Crystal City, MO 63019.

Sister Ryan was born Emma Elizabeth Ryan Nov. 19, 1907, in Macon, the daughter of John and Mary Elizabeth Witt Ryan. In 1927, she entered the Ursuline Sisters of Decatur. She made her profession of vows in 1930 and in January 2000, she celebrated her 70th anniversary of profession. She studied history and received a bachelor of arts degree from Fontbonne College, St. Louis.

She taught many years in parish elementary schools of St. Patrick and St. Thomas in Decatur. She served as principal of St. Thomas from 1941 to 1951. She also taught in parish elementary schools in Alton and Laredo, Texas. In 1996, she became a member of the Ursuline community of Springfield. In March 1999, she moved to the Ursuline Infirmary.

Surviving are her sisters, Catherine Koslofski of Decatur; Margaret Ryan of Bement; brother, Leo of Dieterich; nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Ryan, and brothers, Richard and Gerald.

Pritchett

DECATUR -- Miriam J. Pritchett, 90, Stamford, Conn., formerly of Decatur, died Saturday (March 31, 2001). Arrangements incomplete: Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.

Somppi

DECATUR -- Jennie A. Somppi, 94, of Decatur went to be with the Lord 8:10 p.m. Saturday (March 31, 2001) in Fair Havens Christian Home.

Services will be 7 p.m. Monday in First Christian Church with visitation one hour before services. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Church of Christ, Painsville, Ohio, with visitation one hour before services. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Painsville, OH. Memorials: Fair Havens Christian Home, 1790 South Fairview St., Decatur, IL 62521.

Mrs. Somppi was born Feb. 14, 1907, in Fairport Harbor, Ohio, the daughter of Johannes and Johannah Stuurkivi Pietila. She married Theodore S. Somppi July 10, 1929, in Painsville. To this union was born a son, John T. "Jack" Somppi. Mrs. Somppi was a member of Northwest Christian Church. She was very active in the Painsville Garden Club and loved to raise flowers and entertain. Theodore preceded her in death Aug. 10, 1982.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Edie Somppi of Decatur; grandchildren, Beth Elaine Gephart and husband Tim of Plainfield, Ind.; Joani Lynette Brandon and husband Brent of Anderson, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Amber and Kylee Gephart of Plainfield; Jonat
hon and James Brandon of Anderson; beloved sister-in-law, Eleanor Ames of Painsville; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, the Rev. Jack Somppi; great-granddaughter, Dominique; one sister and six brothers.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Fair Havens Christian Home and those who have touched Jennie's life over the years. She will be greatly missed.
