Tesseo

MOUNT ZION -- Jim Tesseo, 65, of Crockett, Texas, died Tuesday (June 4, 2002) in East Texas Medical Center, Tyler, Texas.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel, Crockett. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Elks Lodge Sweetheart Fund Benefiting Local Handicapped Children, Box 87, Crockett, TX 75835.

Mr. Tesseo was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Bangor, Maine. He had been living in Crockett for the past 12 years, after previously living in Augusta, Ga. He was roofer and a Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam era. Mr. Tesseo was a member of Assembly of God Church, member and past commander of American Legion Post 134 and member and past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Tesseo; children, Brett Christian and wife Sharon of Martinez, Ga.; Pamela Rawlings and husband Kevin of Mount Zion; Darren Rawlings and wife Trish of Union, Ohio; Daryl Rawlings and wife Paula of Bangor; Larry Tesseo and wife Dana of Crockett; brothers, Dick Tesseo of Bangor; Skip Tesseo of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; sister, Barbara Williams of Bull Head City, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Elizabeth Tesseo; brothers and sisters, Anita Benham, Paul Tesseo, Don Tesseo, Laurel Collins and Bill Tesseo.

Anderson

WEST YORK -- Florence A. Anderson, 79, Hammond, Ind., formerly of West York, accountant, died Wednesday (June 5, 2002).

Services: 3 p.m. Sunday, Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel, West Union. Visitation: two hours before services. Burial: Bradbury Cemetery, West York.

Hudson

TUSCOLA -- John Roy Hudson, 53, Tuscola, employee of Dennis and Sons Heating and Cooling, Seymour, died Wednesday (June 5, 2002).

Graveside services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Tuscola Cemetery. Private family visitation: Friday morning, Edwards Funeral Home, Tuscola. Memorials: to the family.

McWard

MORRISONVILLE -- Boyce R. McWard, 64, Morrisonville, retired from McDonnell-Douglas Corp., died Wednesday (June 5, 2002).

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Morrisonville United Methodist Church. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home, Morrisonville, and one hour before services in the church. Burial: Morrisonville Cemetery. Memorials: Morrisonville Kiwanis Club or Morrisonville United Methodist Church.

Buzan

TUSCOLA -- Muriel C. Buzan, 93, Tuscola, formerly of Decatur, passed away at 4:58 p.m. Wednesday (June 5, 2002) in Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Private family graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Graceland Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Peter Ostrander. There will be no visitation. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Buzan was born June 10, 1908, in Blue Mound, the daughter of Oran and Grace Harding Carmony. She graduated from Eureka College and was a schoolteacher. She later graduated from Brown's Business College and retired from State Farm Insurance Co.

Surviving are her sister, Doris Vest of Decatur; nephew, Richard Vest and wife Judith of Tuscola; great-nieces, Charity C. Vest of Chicago; Sara C. Vest of Louisville, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Lois Hackerman.

Douglass

CLINTON -- Randy A. Douglass, 48, of Clinton died 6:45 a.m. Tuesday (June 4, 2002) in Dr. John Warner Hospital, Clinton.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Weldon Cemetery. Memorials: Randy Douglass Memorial Fund.

Mr. Douglass was born Jan. 14, 1954, in Champaign, the son of Donald D. and Norma L. Brennan Douglass. He was a former fireman and conductor for Illinois Central Railroad. He also was the former owner of a firewood and trucking company in Clinton.

Surviving are his son, Nathan of Decatur; brothers, Larry Barker of St. Louis, Mo.; Bill Douglass of Decatur; Tracy Douglass of Peoria; sisters, Linda Daugherty of Mary Esther, Fla.; Elsie Przytula of Umatilla, Ore.

Pulliam

NEWTON -- Clifford Pulliam, 91, Newton, retired farmer, died Wednesday (June 5, 2002).

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Crain Funeral Home, Newton. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Burial: Trexler Cemetery, Newton.

Sanders

RAMSEY -- Wilhelmina M. Marty Sanders, 84, Ramsey, died 10:50 a.m. Wednesday (June 5, 2002) in St. Anthony Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ramsey, with the Rev. Father Stephen T. Sotiroff officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Ramsey. Memorials: St. Joseph Cemetery Fund, Ramsey.

Mrs. Sanders was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Oconee, the daughter of Gerry and Helena Jannink Temmen. She was a retired homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar & Rosary Society, Ben Hur Literary Club and Fayette County Home Extension. She married George Marty on Aug. 10, 1946. He preceded her in death July 31, 1986. She then married Ray Sanders on Dec. 31, 1995.

Surviving are her husband; mother, Helen Temmen of Ramsey; daughter, Donna Rakers and husband Raymond "Bud" of Ramsey and their children, Coleen Rakers, Leo Rakers and Shelly, Brian Rakers and Karen, Mollie Beyers and Jeff and Patra Deere and Craig; son, Jim Marty and wife Pam of Decatur and their children, Michael and Jill Marty; daughter, Mary Lou Howell and husband Carle of Dallas, Texas, and their children, Shawn and Heather Howell; daughter, Carol Kistler and husband Randy of Olney and their children, Rudy, Kate and Emily Kistler; son, Steve Marty and Joanna Hunt of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Mary Helen Crowe and husband Robert of Springfield; Dorothy Schmitz and husband Raymond of Redlands, Calif.; Audrey Chamberlain and husband Ralph of Oconee; brothers, Jerry Temmen and wife Jan of Rock Falls; Bob Temmen and wife Lydia of Riverside, Calif.; sister-in-law, Donna Temmen of Michigan; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband and brothers, Claude and Donald Temmen.

Moore

CHARLESTON -- Loretta "Jean" Moore, 69, Charleston, retired EIU food service worker, died Wednesday (June 5, 2002).

Services: noon Monday, Harper-Swickard Funeral Home, Charleston. Visitation: two hours before services. Burial: Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston. Memorials: donor's choice.

Rose

SHELBYVILLE -- Lora F. Rose, 77, of Shelbyville died 1:45 a.m. Wednesday (June 5, 2002) in Shelbyville Manor.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. Dan Eloe officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials: First Baptist Church, Shelbyville, or American Heart Association.

Mrs. Rose was born Jan. 25, 1925, in rural Shelbyville, the daughter of Clyde and Gertrude Amy McCoy Hudson. She was a graduate of Shelbyville High School, Class of 1942, and a member of First Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary, both of Shelbyville. Her calling in life was to be a homemaker for her family. She married Robert Rose on Dec. 25, 1941.

Surviving are her husband; son, C. Robert Rose of Palmyra, Pa.; grandsons, Bryan Rose and Phillip Rose of Lebanon, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bruce, Ester, Arthur, Jesse and Fred Hudson; and sisters, Louise Clotfelter, Dessie Yakey, Lena Hall and Ellen Brickey.

Shumway

TAYLORVILLE -- Clover Essie Shumway, 87, Nags Head, N.C., formerly of Taylorville, homemaker, died May 20, 2002.

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. No visitation. Arrangements by: McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville.

Slifer

SULLIVAN -- Lois Josephine "Josie" Slifer, 98, of Sullivan died 2:05 a.m. Thursday (June 6, 2002) in her home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, with the Rev. Dr. David Leslie officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Cochran Cemetery, Windsor. Memorials: First Christian Church, Sullivan, Ash Grove Christian Church, Windsor, or donor's choice.

Mrs. Slifer was born Oct. 15, 1903, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma Territory, the daughter of Tom and Elizabeth Hardy Tice. She was a member of First Christian Church and Order of the Eastern Star Crystal Chapter 39. She was a past member of Moultrie County Home Extension, WCTU and Bell Hopper Missionary Society. She married Clem E. Slifer on Oct. 6, 1920. He preceded her in death in 1971.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Darrel (Mildred) Davis of Sullivan; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; four great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Vail and infant Dorothy Jean, three brothers and three sisters.

Stiverson

BEMENT -- Edna M. Stiverson, 85, Bement, died Thursday (June 6, 2002). Arrangements incomplete: Roux-Hinds Funeral Home, Bement.
