Lee

DECATUR -- Linda Faye Lee, 47, of Chicago, formerly of Decatur, died Saturday (Oct. 12, 2002).

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Christian Fellowship Church with visitation one hour before services in the church. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Church of the Living God PGT Temple 1. Burial will be in Restvale Cemetery. Walker Funeral Service and Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Linda was born Feb. 12, 1955, in Brownsville, Tenn., the daughter of James and Nannie Lee. She began her elementary education in Decatur. She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Church of the Living God PGT Temple 1 under the leadership of Bishop Herbert Dickerson. Linda and her family moved to Chicago, where she finished her education at various schools in the Chicago school system, graduating from Spaulding High School. She furthered her education in early childhood development at Olive Harvey College. She worked at the Maryville Academy for Youth for 16 years.

Surviving are her husband, Terry; daughter, Keyona Faith; parents of Decatur; sister, CarCynthia Lee of Chicago; brother, Ricky and wife Andrea and Dennis and wife Shirley, all of Chicago; David and wife Jennifer of Decatur; 14 nieces and nephews; one great-niece; grandmothers, Velma Mann and Martha Cliff, both of Decatur; mother-in-law, Callie Lee of Chicago; one sister-in-law; four brothers-in-law; two godsisters, two goddaughters; special cousin, Patricia Anderson; and host of other relatives, her Maryville Academy co-workers; Church of the Living God Maywood family and other special friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Wendy Sue Jarvis, and sister-in-law, Louvinia.

Manners

DECATUR -- James A. "Jim" Manners Jr., 59, of Decatur entered into eternal rest Sunday (Oct. 13, 2002) in his home after his courageous battle against cancer.

Services celebrating his life will be 11 a.m. Friday in Grace United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home and one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials: American Cancer Society.

Jim was born Dec. 31, 1942, in Decatur, the son of James A. and Bess Bacopulos Manners. As a graduate of Millikin University with a bachelor's degree in finance, Jim worked as a purchaser at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years before he retired in January 1998. Jim was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was an avid golfer and a St. Louis Cardinal fan. He married Judy L. Colvin on May 26, 1988, in St. Louis, Mo., in front of the Stan Musial statue at Busch Stadium.

He leaves to cherish memories, his wife of Forsyth; son, Todd Manners of Garland, Texas; daughter, Laura Dolan and husband Fred of Marlboro, Mass.; sister, Debbie Manners Livingston and husband Stan of Forsyth; nephews, Stan and Jarrod, both of Forsyth; grandchildren, Megan, Jami, Eric, Charlie and Trent; aunts, Blossom Bacopulos of Phoenix, Ariz.; Barbara Bacopulos Jay and family of Phoenix; uncles, Ted Monanteras and family of Merrillville, Ind.; George Bacopulos of Temecula, Calif.; and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wade and his entire staff at Cancer Care Specialists for their care and devotion to Jim.

Jim was a loving and caring man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Myers

HARRISTOWN -- Dallas L. "Jack" Myers, 77, of Harristown died 1:15 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 12, 2002) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Services were Wednesday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Burial was in Harristown Cemetery with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials: Riverside Baptist Church.

Mr. Myers was born Oct. 1, 1925, in Sandoval, the son of J.W. and Melinda Seiber Myers. He was a Caterpillar Inc. machine operator and a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He married Ruth Wade on March 20, 1945.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Jerry L. Myers of Morton; Johnnie Myers and wife Donna of Sumter, S.C.; sister, Alice Bohner and husband Bill of Owensville, Ind.; grandchildren, Joel Myers and wife Catie of Bloomington; Jennifer Dean and husband Charlie and Josh Myers, all of Pekin; Jeff Myers of Los Angeles, Calif.; stepgrandson, Chad Larner of Decatur; stepgranddaughter, Kasie Larner of Sumter, S.C.; great-grandson, Caleb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Payton

DECATUR -- Anna Payton, 59, Decatur, died Wednesday (Oct. 16, 2002). Arrangements incomplete: Walker Funeral Services and Chapel.

Poling

DECATUR -- Rosemary Poling, 76, of Decatur died Sunday (Oct. 13, 2002) in her home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorials: to the family.

Mrs. Poling was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Decatur, the daughter of the late Byron and Dorothy Spainhoward Clem. She married Lloyd Poling in 1955 in Springfield, Mo. He preceded her in death July 25, 1993.

Surviving are her children, Judy Stracner and husband Dale of Cleveland, Ark.; Bonnie Griswold of Mount Zion; Ray Redding and wife Darinda of Decatur; Dena Rasar and husband Dial of Decatur; Betti Jo Poling and fiance Danny Heckwine of Decatur; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Shirley Damery of Glendale, Ariz.; Doris Seib and husband Mel of Bellflower, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, William Wittig; grandson, Colby; great-granddaughter, Carissa Gineane; brothers, James, Paul and Don Clem; sister, Carolyn Clem; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Minnie and Wayne Poling; and brother-in-law, Dick Poling.

Rosemary was a wonderful mother, sister, grandma, great-grandma, great-great-grandma, friend and neighbor. No words in this world could communicate how much she was loved and how much she loved everyone. Rosemary was kind, considerate, soft-spoken and generous. She was more than just a mother to her children and other children, she was also their best friend.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of St. John's Hospice, especially Gayle, Pam, Marsha, Jean, Sharon and the Rev. Ruth Ellen; Dr. Dan Smith and St. Mary's Pulmonary Clinic; Jim and Chris Haugerud and their family; and to all the friends of Rosemary's children, for giving them needed love and support. Thanks to all of her friends and family, especially Hilda and Margaret, for calling every day to cheer Rosemary up and giving her the support and love she needed.

Seger

DECATUR -- Harold A. Seger, 87, Decatur, died Wednesday (Oct. 16, 2002). Arrangements incomplete: Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.

Tackaberry

DECATUR -- Kimberly Ann Tackaberry, 42, of Decatur entered into eternal rest on Tuesday (Oct. 15, 2002) in Decatur.

Services celebrating her life will be 11 a.m. Saturday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at a later date in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials: Heartland Community Church, Box 5339, Coralville, IA 52241.

Kimberly was born Oct. 18, 1959, in Decatur, the daughter of Bayne B. and Sandra L. Hampton Tomlinson. She was a member of the Protestant Faith and was employed as a systems analyst administrator for Archer Daniels Midland Co. for eight years. Kimberly married Wayne M. Tackaberry on Sept. 14, 1995, in Decatur.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, her husband, Wayne, son of James and Rosemary Tackaberry, all of Decatur; daughter, Heather Wrigley and son Jay R. Wrigley, both of Decatur; parents of Shelbyville; sisters, Elisa Ward and husband Randy of Memphis, Tenn.; Teresa "Teri" Brassard and husband Joseph of Greenup; Toni Nelson of Decatur; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Adams

PALESTINE -- Alan Wayne Adams, 50, Palestine, Fair-Rite Products supervisor, died Tuesday (Oct. 15, 2002).

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Burial: Palestine Cemetery. Memorials: Lincoln Trail Hospice, 601 S. Ninth St., Vincennes, IN 47591.

Bree

LINCOLN -- Amanda Bree, 85, Hacienda de Monterey, Palm Desert, Calif., formerly of Lincoln, former owner of Arcade Coffee Shop, died Tuesday (Oct. 15, 2002).

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Friday. Burial: Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland. Memorials: Little City, 861 S. Algonquin Road, Palatine, or Elks Crippled Children, in care of Bob Cortelloni, 711 N. Union St., Lincoln, IL 62656.

Cordts

ATWOOD -- Joan Cordts, 67, of Raytown, Mo., formerly of Atwood, passed away Monday (Oct. 14, 2002) in Research Medical Center. She gracefully departed to heaven in God's arms after a long battle with vascular disease.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Atwood Mackville Cemetery. The family requests no flowers. Arrangements by: Mortician's Services.

Joan was born July 27, 1935, the daughter of Albert and Letha Day of Shumway. She was one of 14 children. Joan's life was a light that shined brightly in the lives of everyone she touched. Her family was her joy as well as her many friends throughout Kansas City and Illinois. She and her husband, Dale, enjoyed 48 years of marriage.

Surviving are her husband; daughters, Dale Ann and Diane; sons-in-law, Michael Hawkins and James Battaglia; and her beloved grandsons, Rob, Jason and Joshua.

Graven

SULLIVAN -- Barbara J. Gifford Graven, 66, Sullivan, died Wednesday (Oct. 16, 2002). Arrangements incomplete: McMullin-Young

Portwood

MOWEAQUA -- Toddy Rae Portwood, 65, of Moweaqua died 1:15 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 13, 2002) in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Memorial services will be 6:30 p.m. Friday in Dawson and Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home with visitation starting at 5 p.m. Memorials: to the family.

Mrs. Portwood was born June 19, 1937, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Toddy Richard and Esther Mae Haines McIntyre. She was a Moweaqua Nursing and Retirement Center laundry aide. She was an avid doll and angel figurine collector. She married Lewis D. Portwood on Oct. 20, 1954, in Moweaqua.

Surviving are her husband; son, Michael E. Portwood and wife Mozelle of Charlestown, Ind.; daughters, Debra L. Holtfreter and husband David of Blue Mound; Ramona A. Portwood of Orlando, Fla.; Penny S. Welton and husband Sanford of Decatur; brothers, Buddy McIntyre and wife Carol of Niles, Mich.; Bruce McIntyre of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Shirley Roberts and husband Doyle of St. Joseph, Mich.; Jerrie Stewart and husband Steven of Baraboo, Wis.; grandchildren, Jeremy, Brandon, Stacy, Sarah, Robert, Kristina, Jacquelyn, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Christopher, Christal, Micheal and Melyssa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

OLNEY -- William R. "Bill" Majors, 77, Olney, died Wednesday (Oct. 16, 2002). Arrangements incomplete: Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney.
