GREENVILLE -- Gladys M. Redenbo, 84, Greenville, died Monday (Jan. 27, 2003).

SHOBONIER -- Marvin E. Rubin, 67, Shobonier, dairy farmer, died Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003).

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Shobonier. Visitation: 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Pagel Funeral Home, St. Peter and one hour before services in the church. Burial: St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Shobonier. Memorials: St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund or donor s choice.

NOKOMIS -- Ethelina F. Ruppert, 78, Nokomis, artist, died Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003).

Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, St. Paul s Lutheran Church, Nokomis. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Burial: St. Paul s Lutheran Cemetery, Nokomis.

PANA -- Robert Bobr Thompson, 69, Pana, formerly of Tower Hill, died Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003).

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Mound Cemetery, Pana, with military rites. Memorials: Pana Community Hospital Foundation.

Navy veteran. Member: Pana Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4431 and Tower Hill Lyons. Survivors: wife, Doris Thompson, Pana; son, John Thompson, California; daughters, Gloria and Lisa, both of California; brothers, Merle Thompson and Darrell Thompson, both of Vandalia; sisters, Doris Vogt, Effingham; Janice Moore, Vandalia; stepsons, Floyd Eakle, Oklahoma City; Howard Eakle, California; stepdaughter, Debra Masterson, Exeter, N.H.; three grandchildren and seven stepgrandchildren. FLAT ROCK -- Leslie Deanr Weger, 71, Flat Rock, farm laborer, died Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003).

Services: 4 p.m. Saturday, Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine. Visitation: two hours before services. Internment: at a later date, Good Hope Cemetery, Flat Rock. Memorials: American Cancer Society.

Willey

LOVINGTON -- John D. Willey, 87, of Lovington died 5:30 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003) in St. Mary s Hospital, Decatur.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Hilligoss-Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood, with the Rev. Conrad Heisner officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Hammond Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the James Reeder American
Legion Post 770. Memorials: Friendship Hill Retirement Community, Lovington.

Mr. Willey was born Oct. 22, 1915, in Atwood, the son of Charles C. and Alma Edith Day Willey. He was a retired farmer, having farmed in the Atwood and Lovington areas for
many years. He as World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of James Reeder American Legion Post 770, Atwood and a former board member of Pierson Grain and Supply Co. He married Berna Braden Batchelder on Jan. 22, 1955, in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife; stepsons, Michael Batchelder of Cloverdale, Calif.; David Batchelder of Richland, Mo.; granddaughters, Deborah Trigg and Rhonda Wease;two great-granddaughters; one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Burnett

DECATUR -- Gladys Wydell Burnett, 78, of Hanceville, Ala., formerly of Decatur, died Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003) in Hanceville.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Mrs. Burnett was born May 13, 1924, in St. Johns, the daughter of Lavern Roy and Olive Matilda Patterson Wilson. She spent the past few years in Alabama. She was a former member of Central United Methodist Church in Decatur.

Surviving are her son, Tim (Vicky) Burnett of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter, Cheryl (Chuck) Sileven of Cullman, Ala.; sister, Sharon Becker of Inverness, Fla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eva and Earl Johnson of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy C.; and sister, Jean Wilson.

Crum

DECATUR -- Thomas M. Crum, 58, El Paso, formerly of Decatur, died Friday (Jan. 31, 2003).

Private graveside services. Arrangements by: Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home.

Gray

DECATUR -- Ashley Ann Gray, 15, of Decatur died 10:07 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003) in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: CEFCU.

Ashley was born July 24, 1987, in Port Ritchie, Fla., the daughter of Rodney W. Gray Sr. and Michelle S. Gray. She attended Eisenhower High School and loved to sing and dance.

Surviving are her father, Rodney W. Gray Sr. and Diana Strode of Decatur; mother, Michelle S. Gray and Bill Powell of Decatur; grandparents, Dave and Patricia Brady of Decatur; Sherry Parker of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Florence Corn of Decatur; great-grandparents, William and Thelma Gray of Decatur; sister, Nicole S. Yonker of Decatur; brother, Rodney W. Gray Jr. of Decatur; stepbrother, Skylar E. Richter of Decatur; stepsisters, Brandy K. Jeffrey, Danielle M. Powell and Katie J. Powell, all of Decatur; special aunt, Timia Griefer and children Molly "Mol Dawg," Lacey and Wade, all of Decatur; special friends, Gary and Kim Williams and Angela Webb and daughter Alexis, all of Decatur; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Tony Yonker; cousin, Eddie Anderson; and special loves, Aunicca and Nathaniel Webb.

Holman

DECATUR -- Charles Farrel Holman, 65, of Decatur was called by the angels to be with our Lord Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003).

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Monday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Institute of Cancer Research or Homeward Bound.

Mr. Holman was born May 24, 1937, the son of Daniel and Sarah Dial Holman. He was a lifetime resident of Decatur. He enjoyed walking the many sidewalks of Decatur, daily stopping to visit family or a favorite spot to see friends. Along with his deep appreciation of country music, his love and dedication for children and animals was unconditional and a great loss to all.

Surviving are his brothers, Clarence Holman and wife Joy and Cleveland Holman and wife Louise, all of Decatur; sisters, Ruby "Susie" Johnson of Decatur; Neva Marion of Colorado Springs, Colo.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Awaiting his arrival are his parents, seven brothers, three sisters and his longtime canine cuddler, Rusty.

Hupp

FORSYTH -- Thomas D. Hupp, 52, of Forsyth died 3:10 a.m. Friday (Jan. 31, 2003) in his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North with visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials: to his "grankids."

Mr. Hupp was born Aug. 23, 1950, in Decatur, the son of Harold D. and Elizabeth Elliot Hupp. He was a retired forklift operator at Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a die-hard Cubs fan and enjoyed NASCAR racing. He married Penny Butler on Jan. 8, 1972, in Maroa.

Surviving are his wife; mother of Forsyth; daughters, Shannon Renee Kirby and husband Jason of Mount Zion; Jacqui Joann Richards and husband Zach of Decatur; sisters, Mary Whalen and husband Jerry and Sharon Kay Evans and husband Michael, all of Decatur; grandchildren, Collyn Richards, Taylor Kirby and Keely Kirby; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lloyd and Louise Butler; sisters-in-law, Jacqui Waddington and husband Bill; Julie Baldwin and husband Tom; Kelly Giese and husband Mark; brother-in-law, Kenneth Butler.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

He was a devoted, son, husband, father, grandad and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Kistenfeger

MOUNT ZION -- Walter A. Kistenfeger Jr., 50, Downers Grove, died Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003).

Services: 3 p.m. Sunday, St. Columba Church, Ottawa. Visitation: 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge, Hinsdale. Arrangements by: Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa. Memorials: Elementary District 181 Foundation, Walter A. Kistenfeger Memorial.

Survivors: wife, Kathy; father, Walter Kistenfeger, Ottawa; mother, Ida McDonald, Moweaqua; son, Colby Kistenfeger, Assumption; daughters, Courtney and Cami Kistenfeger, both of Assumption; brothers, Gene, Dave and Gary, Ottawa; Bob, Mount Zion; Tom Blackmon; sisters, Mary Ksiazkiewicz, Utica; Sandy Nagel, Ottawa. Preceded by: grandparents.
