Riley
DECATUR -- Andrew L. "Andy" Riley, 53, of Decatur and Gulf Shores, Ala., died Wednesday (Jan. 15, 2003) as a result of a fishing accident in the Gulf of Mexico.
Memorial services will be 8 p.m. Monday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes with visitation two hours before services.
Andy was born Feb. 5, 1949, in Decatur, the son of Myrle and Elinore Miller Riley. Andy worked at Dunlap Nursery in Blue Mound and had a tremendous passion for fishing and gardening. He married Barb Grissom on July 5, 2002.
Surviving are his wife; brothers, Dan Riley and wife Mary Ann and Mike Riley and wife Laura, all of Decatur; sisters, Nancy Phillips and husband Rodney of Decatur; Debbie Nicholls of Forsyth; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Patrick; infant sister, Patricia; and nephew, Anthony Lynn.
Andy will be greatly missed by his wife, family and many friends.
Roberts
DECATUR -- Marilyn June Roberts, 69, of Decatur died 3 a.m. Friday (Jan. 17, 2003) in Lincoln Manor.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery. Memorials: Peoples Church of God.
Mrs. Roberts was born July 27, 1933, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Orville and Eula Carroll Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of Peoples Church of God. She married William E. Roberts on Sept. 14, 1958.
Surviving are her husband; mother of Decatur; sons, Steven Roberts and wife Pam of Vernon, Conn.; Shawn Roberts and wife Katie of Yuba City, Calif.; daughter, Lorie Schoeberle of Edgerton, Wis.; brother, Jerry Jones and wife Donna of Decatur; sister, Sharon Tokarz and husband Mike of Wentzville, Mo.; grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Luke, Sarah, Rebekah, Paul and Mary.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Thompson
DECATUR -- Gertrude L. Thompson, 85, of Decatur passed away 9:43 a.m. Friday (Jan. 17, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials: East Park Baptist Church.
Mrs. Thompson was born Jan. 5, 1918, in McLeansboro, the daughter of Jesse A. and Effie Bell Mitchell Taylor. She was a homemaker and a member of East Park Baptist Church and Letter Carriers Auxiliary. She married Raymond E. Thompson on March 7, 1947, in Decatur.
Surviving are her husband of more than 55 years; son, Roger D. Thompson of Decatur; stepson, Ronald (Deacon) Thompson of Florida; sister, Della M. Pratt of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Webb
DECATUR -- Ella M. Webb, 100, of Decatur died 7:57 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 18, 2003) in Lincoln Manor Nursing Home.
Committal services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Fairlawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North. In lieu of flowers, memorials: St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Webb was born Oct. 14, 1902, in Decatur, the daughter of Gottfried and Johanna Reich Blankenburg. She was a homemaker and the oldest living member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Decatur. She married Glen Webb on Dec. 1, 1926. He preceded her in death in 1981.
Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis Ellegood and husband Virgil of Decatur; grandchildren, Glen "Toby" Ellegood and wife Valerie of Decatur; Joyce Kellogg of Maroa; granddaughter-in-law, Pam Ellegood of Katy, Texas; great-grandchildren, Julie Rambo and Matt, Sara and Monica Ellegood; great-great-grandchildren, Loren and Hanna Rambo and Devon Brahmhall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, two sisters and one grandson, Tom Ellegood.

Carsell
MATTOON -- Mildred Carsell, 89, of Mattoon, formerly of Shelbyville, died 11:56 a.m. Friday (Jan. 17, 2003) in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lockart & Sons Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.
Mrs. Carsell was born Dec. 6, 1913, in Brandenburg, Ky., the daughter of R.P. and Elizabeth Adams. She was a member of Shelby Christian Church. She married William L. Carsell on Nov. 11, 1936, in Shelbyville. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1997.
Surviving are her sons, Charles of Shelbyville; Ron of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Diann Miller of Mission, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.
Esry
BETHANY -- Vincent H. Esry, 90, of St. Joseph passed away 6:40 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 18, 2003) in Country Health Center, Gifford.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Freese Funeral Home, St. Joseph, with the Rev. Chuck Alt officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorials: Illini Children Christian Home, St. Joseph.
Mr. Esry was born Oct. 21, 1912, in Bethany, the son of Clyde H. and Osa L. Moad Esry. He was a member of the Church of Christ, St. Joseph, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, past elder and church board member and active with Eastern Star. He was a past board member with the Champaign County Farm Bureau, founding member of Champaign County Seed Co., a St. Joseph school board member for more than 35 years, and a member of Champaign County Grain Co. and St. Joseph Fire Department. He married Dorothy Widick on Feb. 14, 1938, near Elwin. She preceded him in death July 14, 2001.
Surviving are his daughter, Carolyn Whiles of Knox, Ind.; son, Lloyde Esry of St. Joseph; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.

SHELBYVILLE -- Kathy Nohren, 57, of Shelbyville died 8:30 a.m. Friday (Jan. 17, 2003) in Pana Community Hospital.

Mrs. Nohren was born Aug. 13, 1945, in Taylorville, the daughter of Raymond Harold and Mima Della St. Clair McPeek. She lived most of her life in the Lakewood and Tower Hill area. She worked at Pana Ace Surplus, was a homemaker and delivered Meals on Wheels in Tower Hill. She enjoyed gardening and was interested in antiques and glassware. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tower Hill. She married Roger Nohren on Jan. 26, 1979, in Taylorville.
Surviving are her husband; children, Don Robertson and wife Sherry of Tower Hill; Craig Robertson and wife Brandi of Heyworth; mother of Tower Hill; brothers, Raymond R. McPeek of Pana; Gary McPeek of Springfield; and David H. McPeek of Tampa, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her father; son, Roy Donnell Robertson; and sister, Sandy Thompson.
