Fred F. Barta of Palatine
Services for Fred F. Barta, 85, formerly a longtime resident of Racine, Wis., will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 210 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.
BornMay 17, 1913, in Racine, he died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. Burial will be in Bohemian National Cemetery, Racine.
Mr. Barta was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church of Palatine.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Barta of Palatine; daughters, Yvonne (Bob) Crawford of Barrington and Carol (LeRoy) Van Dyke of Wheaton; sister, Mildred Mico of Walnut Creek, Calif.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Roberta `Betty' Behm of Elgin
Services for Roberta `Betty' Behm, 77, will be held at noon today, at Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St., West Dundee. Rev. Dennis Ammons will officiate.
Born May 9, 1921, in Carpentersville, the daughter of Arnold and Ethel Pearson, she died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Burial will be in Dundee Township Cemetery East, East Dundee.
She was involved with the Salvation Army and wasa former member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her daughter, Cora (Rudy) Serna of Elk Grove Village; sons, Larry (Marlene) Behm of Lake In The Hills, Gerald (Barbara) Behm of Carpentersville and Clyde (Sandra) Behm of Geneva; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and brothers, David (Marilyn) Pearson, Adrian (Ellen) Pearson, Paul Pearson, Leth (Joan) Pearson and Lester (Victoria) Pearson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon in 1979; daughter, Ruth Ann in infancy; and brothers, Louis, Gerald and Arnold Pearson.

Dennis B. Besaw of Round Lake
Services for Dennis B. Besaw, 54, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake.
Pastor Linda Philabaun, associate pastor of the United Protestant Church of Round Lake will officiate.
Born Nov. 8, 1944, in Elmhurst, he passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Highland Park Hospital. Interment will be private.
He had been a 20-year resident of Round Lake, and a former resident of Antioch. He was a member and Deacon of Calvary Presbyterian Church of Round Lake. Mr. Besaw retired in 1998 from Commonwealth Edison, where he was employed as a supervisor.
He leaves his wife, Karen (nee Troy), whom he married on July 22, 1978; children, Pamela (Gerald) Altman of Grayslake, Kevin (Ruthann) Stateler of Round Lake, Andrea (Don) Weber of Burlington, Wis., Keith (Sandra) Stateler of Round Lake, Fred (Heidi) Troy of Mundelein, Scott (Kristen) of Kenosha, Wis., Kirk Stateler of Round Lake, Lisa Troy and Charlene Troy of Gurnee; grandchildren, Lindsey, Patrick, Elisha, Kayla, Savannah, Erika, Austin, Selena, Amelia and Katherine; parents, Gerald and Pat Besaw of Maywood; sister, Pat Krysa; and brothers, Roger, Kerry and Gordon Besaw.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joe Anne in 1947.
Friends of the family may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral chapel.

Rufus Bogan of Elgin
Services for Rufus Bogan, 63, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at O'Connor and Homeier Funeral Home, 364 Division St., Elgin. Rev. Willie Tate will officiate.
Born Feb. 5, 1935, in Cario, Ill., the son of Urias and Flora (nee Bankhead) Bogan, he died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital. Burial will be in Dundee Township Cemetery.
A veteran of the Army, he was employed by the U. S. Postal Service for a number of years. He retired from Met Life Insurance Company after 15 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lizzie of Elgin; sons, Renee Bogan of San Diego, Calif. and Rufus Bogan of Washington, D. C.; daughter, Danielle Bogan of Elgin; brothers, Urias (Leathea) Bogan Jr. of Charleston, Mo., John T. (Rose) Bogan of Fayetteville, N. C. and Donald (Clementine) Killgore of Maywood; and sister, Sarah Hutchinson of Detroit, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Eugene F. Buckley of Hanover Park
Prayers for Eugene F. Buckley, 80, will be said at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.), Streamwood/ Schaumburg. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Marcelline Church, Schaumburg.
Born Jan. 11, 1919, in Chicago, he died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Hoffman Estates Medical Center. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, parishioner of St. Marcelline Church and an avid bowler.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores `Dolly' Buckley (nee Glassie); children, Marty (Barbie) of Bartlett, Michael (Jackie) of Schaumburg, Gina (Ron) Knauss of Gilbert, Ariz., Jim (Julie) of Granger, Ind., Bonnie (Tom) Becker of Columbia, Md., Dori (John) Havel of Hanover Park, Gary (Denise) of Algonquin, Mary (Marty) Froelich of Schaumburg, Vicki (Steve) Stolzman of Lake In The Hills and Larry of Hanover Park; and grandchildren, Kristina, Jamie, Allison, Ian, Brittany, Kyle, Ashley, Amanda, Sara, Jimmy, Rebecca, Jessica, Joey, Jordan and Kristiana.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob, Emmett and Jimmy.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Patricia E. Burgess of Elgin
Services for Patricia E. Burgess, 68, will be private.
Born Aug. 30, 1930, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Margaret Cosgrove, she died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at Heritage Manor.
Survivors include her daughters, Margaret (Manuel) Alonzo of Elgin and Cathy (Bob) Bonner of Michigan; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Donald Ciardullo
Funeral services for Donald Ciardullo will begin Saturday, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road), Roselle, and continue to St. WalterChurch for a 10 a.m. Mass. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
He was the loving son of the late John and Cora Ciardullo; dear brother of Jean (Joe) Martinez, Sue, Joseph, Tina Espinoza, Lillian and the late John Ciardullo; uncle of many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews; and great friend of many.

William T. Ciofani of Mount Prospect
Prayers for William T. Ciofani, 83, will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Rd., Mount Prospect.
Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Emily Church, 1400 E. Central Rd., Mount Prospect.
Born Nov. 6, 1915, in Syracuse, N. Y., he died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare. Interment will be private.
A retired artist, he was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite (nee Kampman); children, William T. (Susan) Ciofani, Jeannie (Arnold) Tienken and Marguerite A. Ciofani; sisters, Janet (Bob) Kampman and Anita (Lou) Haake; grandchildren, Jeannette, Tara, Jill, Gina and Brian; and great-grandchildren, Joshua and Katlyn.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Ciofani; and sister, Eileen Kamka.

John R. Dargenio of Crystal Lake
A Mass of Christian Burial for John R. Dargenio, 65, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntley. The Rev. Robert M. Garrity will officiate.
Born Feb. 3, 1933, in Chicago, to John and Eileen (nee Schwantes) Dargenio, he passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Lake Barrington. Following cremation, burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Huntley.
Mr. Dargenio was an Army veteran and had retired in January 1996 after 25 years with American Airlines, serving asflight service crew chief at O'Hare Field.
Surviving are his mother, Eileen Dargenio of Crystal Lake; daughters, Nancy (Scott) Shannon of Lake in the Hills and Annette Dargenio of Houlton, Wis.; son, Michael (Karen) Dargenio of Palatine; and grandchildren, Scott Dargenio, Jason Dargenio, Chad Sprinkel and Brianna Shannon.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1968.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley.

Mary Ward Dee of Wadsworth
Funeral Mass for Mary Ward Dee, 83, formerly of Wilmette, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today, at St. Patrick Church in Wadsworth.
Born March 29, 1915, in Cohoes, N. Y., she died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at her home. Private interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mrs. Dee had lived in Lake County for the past 29 years.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jerome, and was a loving mother to Stephanie (Thomas) Healy of Highland Park, Stephen (Kori) Dee of Helena, Montana, Christopher (Maude) Dee of Lake Forest, Hannah (Kevin) Murnighan of Glenview and Jerry Dee of Libertyville; grandmother of 14; and great-grandmother of six.
Arrangements were made by Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, Gurnee.

Thomas E. Ennis of Niles

Born Jan. 23, 1923, in Minneapolis, Minn., he died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Private entombment will be in Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Arlington Heights.
He was the husband of Phyllis (nee Hain); father of Kevin (Pamela) Ennis, Candace (Robert) Pietschmann and Shelley (Joseph) LoSasso; brother of Arthur Ennis, Fernande Kolter, Lucille Shanks, Theresa Bostnik and Martha Miller; grandfather of Corrine Nelson, Natalie Kaplan, Laura Fisher, Thomas Jacob Ennis, Kyle Pietschmann and Justine Ennis; great-grandfather of Connor Nelson; and stepgrandfather of Laurie Casey, Tony LoSasso, Mike LoSasso and Joey LoSasso.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday, at the funeral home.
