DECATUR -- Doris E. Petro Dehne, 69, Decatur, died Sunday (Jan. 19, 2003).

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: DMH Home Health & Hospice Services.

Hector

DECATUR -- John Hector, 75, Decatur, died Friday (Jan. 17, 2003).

Services and visitation were Monday. Burial: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Graceland Cemetery, with military rites. Arrangements by: Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorials: Hopes Unlimited.

Long

DECATUR -- Virginia L. Long, 73, Decatur, died Sunday (Jan. 19, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home.

Funkhouser

DECATUR -- Robert "Bob" H. Funkhouser, 85, of Decatur died 3:15 a.m., Monday (Jan. 20, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials: American Kidney Association.

Bob was born March 31, 1917, in Mattoon, the son of William and Maude Hazel Flaharty Funkhouser. In 1978, he retired from Adolf Meyer Zone Center as a stationary engineer. He married Betty I. Benson Perkins on A pril 29, 1971, in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years; sons, William R. Funkhouser and wife Connie of Richmond Heights, Mo.; Rick Perkins and wife Debra of Oreana; daughters, Betty Kay Rau of California; Pam Roan and husband Alan of Decatur; Tina Campbell and husband Roger of Orea na; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Peters

DECATUR -- Barbara Carolyn Peters, 77, of Decatur passed away Sunday (Jan. 19, 2003) in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Stine officiating. Visitation will be two hours before services. Graveside services will be Thursday in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. Memorials: Macon County Historical Society.

Barbara was born May 13, 1925, in Berwyn, the daughter of Leo Clark and Nora Ida O'Reilly Aubrey. She was a homemaker and a member of Macon County Historical Society. She was a very talented painter and belonged to painting and craft clubs. Barbara raised and showed AKC registered grand champion Dalmatians. She married Dominic John "Nick" Peters in 1950. He preceded her in death Oct. 9, 1988.

Surviving are her special friends, Dorothea Doolin, Sherry Doolin, Jerry and Carol Doolin, Richard and Sue Doolin, Larry and Margaret Doolin, Joe and Joan Doolin and Steve Doolin, all of Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Barb was a part of our family and was a very special lady. She will be sadly missed but left us all with many precious memories. God bless you, Sweet Lady. We love you!

Stilwell

DECATUR -- Kenneth R. Stilwell, 90, of Decatur died Sunday (Jan. 19, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Westminster Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials: Kemmerer Village in Assumption or the Decatur School District music department.

Mr. Stilwell was born Sept. 12, 1912, in Carmi, the son of Ra lph C. and Kathryn Doll Stilwell. He served as a concert band director for the Navy Seabees in the South
Pacific during his service in World War II. He was a music instructor for the Decatur School District from 1946 to 1972 and a member of the Municipal Band for many years. Mr. Stilwell was an elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he sang tenor in the choir for more than 50 years. He married Catherine Williams on June 23, 1941, in Evanston.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years; son, Glenn "Bill" Stilwell of Carbondale; daughter, Carolyn Stilwell and husband David Un ger of Evansville, Ind.; brother,
Ralph Stilwell and wife Jean of Decatur; cousins, Marga ret Ruth Schreiber of Evansville; Mary Moore of Poseyville, Ind.; many beloved nieces, nephews, friends, students and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kenneth's passion for music and life will be remembered by many of his students, family and friends.

Taylor

DECATUR -- Ethel Juanita Taylor, 91, of Decatur passed away 2:30 a.m. Monday (Jan. 20, 2003) surrounded by her family in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be Thursday in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: St. John's Lutheran Church or Lutheran School Association.

Ethel was born March 7, 191 1, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Charles A. and Olive M. Ritchie Robinson. She was a retired admitting clerk at St. Mary's Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting. She married John E. Taylor on Jan. 25, 1933, in Decatur. He preceded her in death Jan. 19, 1994.

Surviving are her son, John R. "Dick" Taylor and wife Evelyn of Decatur; daughters, Nina Minton, Juanita Dietz and husband Larry and Linda White and husband Harold "Gene," all of Decatur; half sister, Ruth Gardner of Decatur; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Thompson

DECATUR -- Gertrude L. Thompson, 85, Decatur, died Friday (Jan. 17, 2003).

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation was Monday. Burial: Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials: East Park Baptist Church .

Hubbartt

PANA -- Lola Margaret Hubbartt, 89, of Pana, formerly of Findlay, died 9:49 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 18, 2003) in Shelbyville Manor.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. John Hippard officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Hubbartt Cemetery, Beecher City. Memorials: First Baptist Church Christian Academy, Rosamond.

Mrs. Hubbartt was born Sept. 25, 1913, in Beecher City, the daughter of William and Bertha Laue Huffer. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pana and a former member of First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, where she was baptized. She married Ira George Hubbartt on Feb. 1, 1932, in Taylorville. He preceded her in death March 16, 1984.

Surviving are her sons, Richard Hubbartt and wife Marie of Findlay; Morris Hubbartt and wife Luella of Pana; Bob Hubbartt and wife Rita of Shelbyville; daughter, Mayme Matlock and husband Verne of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Don Hubbartt and wife Glenda of Westervelt; George Hubbartt and wife Brenda; Kathy Buerk and husband Robert and Morris Hubbartt Jr. and wife Lisa, all of Pana; Debbie Carr and husband Mike and Robin Bear and husband Mike,
all of Findlay; Bill Hubbartt and wife Laurie of Shelbyville; Bradley Matlock and wife Mona of Shelbyville; Beverly Harlow of Findlay; Jerry Matlock, James Matlock and wife Christine, Terry Matlock and Greg Matlock, all of Shelbyville; five stepgrandchildren, Mike Allen and wife Bobbie and Brian Allen and wife Shannon, all of Shelbyville; Mark Allen of Nashville, Tenn.; Brad Allen of St. Louis, Mo.; Rick Allen of Arthur; 25 great-grandchildren; nine great-stepgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter-in-law, Ruth Hubbartt; great-grandson, Zachary Hubbartt; brothers, Henry, John, Ed, Frank, Lloyd, Harry, Ray and Walter Huffer; sisters, Lucy Beals and Mayme Parks.

RAMSEY -- Mabel G. Shaffer, 91, Ramsey, nurse, died Sunday (Jan. 19, 2003).
