Schindlbeck
SULLIVAN -- David J. Schindlbeck, 64, of Sullivan, formerly of Yorkville and Pontiac, died Sunday (Jan. 19, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Dieterle Funeral Home, Aurora, with the Rev. Clyde Galow officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Memorials: Sullivan United Methodist New Building Fund or W.D. Boyce Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Peoria.
David was born Aug. 1, 1938, in Aurora, the son of John F. and Winifred Brengle Schindlbeck. He graduated from West Aurora High School, earned a bachelor's degree from Illinois State University and a master's degree and CAS in educational administration from Northern Illinois University. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam era and was involved in the NASA and Aerospace program. He was a member of Sullivan First United Methodist Church, Livingston Bass Anglers and was active in many aspects of the Boy Scouts of America. He married Lynn Schmidt on Sept. 22, 1973, in Carmel, Ind.
Surviving are his wife; children, Lori Strohecker and husband Michael and Scott Schindlbeck and wife Heidi, all of Freeport; Mark Schindlbeck and Heidi Schindlbeck, both of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Patty Jones and husband Ron of Aurora; grandchildren, Taylor and Matthew Strohecker.
David spent his life working with children, both his own and others. He was a teacher and principal for many years, coaching swimming and diving, as well as being active in Boy Scouts at the local and council levels. David had a genuine love for our youth.
Fishing played a tremendous role in David's life. He enjoyed spending time fishing and sharing his sense of humor with his wife, children and other friends.
Diveley
DECATUR -- Francis C. Diveley, 86, of Decatur passed away 6 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 21, 2003) in his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials: to the family.
Mr. Diveley was born on July 14, 1916, in Pipestone, Minn., the son of James C. and Martha Bamberger Diveley. He retired from A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. after more than 40 years. He married Christina Graff in 1936. He then married Fern Moger on Nov. 30, 1963. She preceded him in death Feb. 11, 2002.
Surviving are his children, David Diveley of Salem; Elaine McKinney and husband Jack of Barry; Alvena Thomson and husband Darren of Denville, N.J.; stepchildren, David Folden and wife Kay of Decatur; Bob Folden and wife Diana of Beatrice, Neb.; sisters, Wilma Miller and husband Fred of Monticello, Ind.; Martha Fairchild and husband J.L. of Danville; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 12 great-stepgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Diveley and Paul Diveley.
Duncan
DECATUR -- M. Eleanor Duncan, 81, of Lady Lakes, Fla., formerly of Decatur, died Monday (Jan. 20, 2003) in her home.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Memorials: Humane Society or American Cancer Association.
Mrs. Duncan was born June 20, 1921, in Niantic, the daughter of John B. Faris and Martha LaForge Faris. She was program director for WSOY for many years. She taught piano and organ in the Decatur area for many years. She married Paul Duncan in 1954. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Surviving are her son, John Camp and wife Marilyn of Cannelton, Ind.; daughter, Linda Manges and husband Dave of Lady Lakes; sister, Charlotte Lockhart and husband Jim of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Freeman
DECATUR -- David Freeman, 76, of Decatur died Tuesday (Jan. 21, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Homegoing services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Church of the Living God CWFF with Evangelist Sheila Hodges officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery
with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Walker Funeral Service and Chapel.
Mr. Freeman was born May 4, 1926, in Decatur, the son of Carl and Cordelia Taylor Freeman. He retired from A.E. Staley Mfg. Co., having worked as a supervisor for 39 years without a sick day. He was a member of Church of the Living God CWFF, where he served in the Gospel Chorus and as an officer. He was a veteran, serving in the Navy from Dec. 19, 1944, until Aug. 11, 1946. He united in holy matrimony to Anna Fields on June 19, 1949, in Owensboro, Ky.
He leaves not to mourn but to cherish fond memories, his loving wife; sons, Mark (Jackie) Freeman of Decatur; William (Sandy) Freeman of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Jason Freeman of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Daveanna Taylor; sisters, Geraldine Fonville, Adlean Fonville and Mary (Leonard) McCrory Sr., all of Decatur; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one foster brother and one granddaughter.

Mr. Gregg was born Aug. 6, 1928, in Effingham County, the son of Jesse B. and Fern Cox Gregg. He served in the
Army during the
Korean War. Prior to serving his country, he farmed with his father. He retired from Caterpillar Inc. in Decatur in 1989, after 32 years of employment. He was a member of Decatur Caterpillar Campers Club and Moultrie Amateur Radio Club. He loved to hunt, fish and camp and was one of the best St. Louis Cardinal baseball fans ever. He married Jo Ann Holley on Dec. 23, 1951, in Findlay.
Surviving are his wife; son, Jeff Gregg and wife Vicki of Shelbyville; daughters, Julie Hodson and fiance Louis Morrow of Collierville, Tenn.; Jill Sluss and husband Bill of Shelbyville; granddaughters, Jennifer Gregg and Sierra Gregg of Shelbyville; grandsons, Justin Brown and wife Shannon of Walls, Miss.; Eric Hodson and wife Jennifer of Southhaven, Miss.; Richard Sluss and Dylan Gregg of Shelbyville; great-grandchildren, Taylor Brown and Jackson Hodson; two stepgranddaughters; three great-stepgrandsons; brothers, Virgil Gregg and wife Edith of Shelbyville; Leon Gregg and wife Maxine of Orlando, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Doris Gregg and Wanda Holley of Shelbyville; Bernadine Clark of Decatur.

Mr. Hull was born Oct. 5, 1945, in Joliet, the son of Melvin and Mildred Boliard Hull. He was a diesel mechanic and semitruck driver for 30 years. He was an
Army veteran of Vietnam. He married Karen Sue Gartshore on Feb. 6, 1973, in Decatur.
