Nelson

DECATUR -- Jack B. Nelson, 83, of Decatur entered into eternal rest Thursday (Jan. 23, 2003).

Services celebrating his life will be 2 p.m. Monday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard.

Jack was born April 20, 1919, in Oscalusa, Iowa, the son of Jack and Beulah Baldwin Nelson. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He worked as a machinist for Caterpillar Inc. and Hughes Aircraft. He proudly served our country in the Navy during World War II. He married Ethel V. Lee on Aug. 6, 1939.

Surviving are his wife; son, Jon (Comille) Nelson of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters, Candace (Tom) Kain of Tucson; Jackie Myers of San Antonio, Texas; stepbrother, Bill (Love) Dunaway of Decatur; stepsister, Rosemary Dunaway of Decatur; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Reeves

DECATUR -- Robert D. "Bob" Reeves, 59, Decatur, died Wednesday (Jan. 22, 2003).

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Memorials: American Cancer Society.

Smith

DECATUR -- Jeanette M. Smith, 61, Decatur, died Thursday (Jan. 23, 2003).

No services. Arrangements by: Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Memorials: Children's Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Miller

AUBURN -- Agnes M. "Aggie " Miller, 94, of Auburn died 2 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 22, 2003) in Lynncrest Manor, Auburn.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home, Auburn, with the Rev. Richard R. Harre officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour before services. Burial will be in Stout Cemetery, Springfield. Nancy Enrietto will be the organist, and pallbearers will be Diana Lewis, Debra, Mark and Joe Moughan, Ronald and Steven Williams, Douglas Turner and William Hagerman. Memorials: Trinity Lutheran Church or Lynncrest Manor Resident Fund.

Agnes was born March 3, 1908, in Des Arc, Mo., the daughter of John and Helen Henkle Lard. She was employed as a waitress in various restaurants, including Jack Robinson, Thrifty Drug and The Martinway in Springfield. During World War II, she worked at Allis-Chalmers. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Auburn. She was an avid bowler and baby-sat in her home. She married Alfred H. Miller on Oct. 8, 1927, in Springfield. He preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1971.

Surviving are her son, Alfred H. Miller Jr. of Gulf Shores, Ala.; stepson, Leo (Penny) Miller of Virden; daughters, Helen J. Moughan of Chatham; Donna M. (Robert) Williams of Auburn; Roberta A. (Billie) Brown of Decatur; sister, Marjorie Feeny of Griffith, Ind.; 20 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Ernest and George Lard; sisters, Genieva Jones and Alice Walutkevicz; grandson, Michael Moughan; and stepgrandson, Ricky Miller.

Rohman

OLNEY -- Mabel Walker Rohman, 90, Birmingham, Ala., formerly of Olney, died Friday (Jan. 24, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Summers-Kistler Funeral

Dammerman

EFFINGHAM -- Leo C. Dammerman, 81, Effingham, retired Lake Sara Marina Lakeside owner/operator, died Friday (Jan. 24, 2003).

Services: 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Arborcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum, Effingham, with military rites. Visitation: noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham. Burial: Arborcrest Memorial Park, Effingham. Memorials: Hospice of Lincolnland.

Fosnaugh

CLINTON -- Edwin L. Fosnaugh, 74, Clinton, retired railroad brakeman, died Thursday (Jan. 23, 2003).

Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial: Rose Cemetery, Lane. Memorials: Lane Christian Church.

Malin

TUSCOLA -- Lillian Margaret Malin, 90, of Tuscola, formerly of Arcola, died 10:05 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 23, 2003) in Tuscola Nightingale Manor.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Shrader Funeral Home, Arthur, with the Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Arthur Cemetery. Memorials: Tuscola Nightingale Manor.

Mrs. Malin was born Aug. 22, 1912, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Josephine Olsen Jonassen. She retired in 1976 as the industrial nurse for Petro Chemical Co. in Tuscola after 21 years. She was a former nurse at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and Jarman Hospital in Tuscola. She was former vice president of Wyoming Nurses Association. She loved to play bingo and was a member of Vine Street Christian Church. She married Joseph Malin on April 7, 1945, in Casper, Wyo. He preceded her in death March 15, 1956.

Surviving are her son, Jon Malin and wife Teri of Arthur; grandchildren, Stephanie, Alexander and Jeremy Malin; Matt, Todd, Adam and Megan Matthews; nephew, Per Fjield of Oslo, Norway; nieces, Ellen Hettinger of Tuscola; Inger Gire of Champaign.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickey Matthews.

Winter

ALTAMONT -- Elsie M. Winter, 85, of Altamont died 12:27 p.m. Friday (Jan. 24, 2003) in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Altamont, with Interim Pastor John Rogers officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the church and one hour before services. Burial will be in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Altamont. Memorials: St. Paul ELCA Church Building Fund, The Lutheran Care Center or donor's choice.

Elsie Marie Wilhelmina Stuemke Winter was born Nov. 14, 1917, in Mound Township, near Altamont, the daughter of Herman and Maria Bernahl Stuemke. She was baptized and confirmed in the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and organizations within the church such as the Ladies Aid, Quilting Group and Flower Committee. With her love for flowers, she was the former Effingham County Fair Exhibit Hall supervisor. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in raising a family and conducting their family business. She married Benjamin R. Winter on Aug. 24, 1940, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Altamont.

Surviving are her husband; son, Larry Winter and wife Dorothy of Wasilla, Alaska; daughter, Faye L. Winter of Effingham; sisters, Edna and Raymond Yagow of Mount Pulaski; Norma Wolf of Altamont; Helen and Paul Marchionda of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Bryan, Steven and Dawn Winter; Sharon Pegau; Scott and Cathy Pegau; great-granddaughters, Robin and Kenzie Pegau; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Eugene Winter in infancy; sisters, Ella Bandelow and husband Otto; Mabel Wolf and husband Alvin "A.J."; and brother-in-law, Clarence Wolf.

Barlow

CLINTON -- Everett D. Barlow, 68, of Clinton died 6:25 a.m. Friday (Jan. 24, 2003) in Crestview Nursing Center, Clinton.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Jim Dann officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Lisenby Cemetery, Lane. The family requests casual attire for visitation and services. Memorials: Everett D. Barlow Memorial Fund.

Mr. Barlow was born May 20, 1934, in Monticello, the son of Dave and Myrtle Stiverson Barlow. He retired from Charles Todd Uniform Co. in Clinton after 25 years of service. He was a veteran of the Army. He married Patricia A. Thrasher on Oct. 20, 1961, in Monticello.

Surviving are his wife of Clinton; daughters, Sally (Sam) Reid of Waterford, Mich.; Gina (Ed) Walls of Clinton; four grandchildren, Dana Powers, Tonya Mearida, Sammy Reid and Stanton Reid; great-granddaughter, Mya Bartell; brother, Bill Barlow of Weldon; sister, Nancy (Loren) Brian of Monticello.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Swoboda

TOWER HILL -- Floy E. Stockdale Swoboda, 92, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Tower Hill, died Jan. 4, 2003, in Lakeland, Fla.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Robinson Creek Cemetery, Shelbyville, with Dr. Bruce Owens officiating. Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: donor's choice.

Mrs. Swoboda was born Oct. 28, 1910, in Shelby County, the daughter of Edward and Grace Smith Stockdale. She was a graduate of Tower Hill High School, Class of 1928. She was a registered nurse, working at a hospital in South Bend, Ind., until her retirement. She married Joseph Swoboda on Dec. 23, 1931.

Surviving are her husband; daughter, Joan E. Douglas and husband Ronald of Haines City, Fla.; brother, Earl Stockdale and wife Harriet of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Gladys Kensil and husband Jack of Shelbyville; brother-in-law, Wendell Cartmell of Lexington, Ky.; two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Alice Cartmell, Nita Herdy and Retha Stockdale in infancy.

Klingenberg

ARCOLA -- Clifford C. Klingenberg, 74, Arcola, retired from Gordon Transport, died Friday (Jan. 24, 2003).

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Edwards Funeral Home, Arcola. Burial: at a later date, Hillcrest Cemetery, Centralia. Memorials: to the family.

World War II Army veteran. Survivors: companion, Evelyn Fair, Arcola; sister, Irma Robinson, Dix; two grandchildren. Preceded by: parents and one son.

Meek

OLNEY -- Mark Ray Meek, 78, Olney, died Friday (Jan. 24, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney.

Warren

PANA -- Freida J. Warren, 91, Channahon, formerly of Pana and Tower Hill, retired secretary from Farm Service, died Thursday (Jan. 23, 2003).

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday with 7 p.m. Eastern Star service. Burial: Tower Hill Cemetery. Memorials: Tower Hill United Methodist Church.

Member: Tower Hill United Methodist Church and Mazeppa Chapter 583 Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors: sons, Robert Warren, West Hills, Calif.; James Warren, Wonderlake; daughter, Charlotte Musser, Channahon; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded by: parents; husband, Harold E.; two sisters and one grandson.
