Goodman
CLINTON -- David R. "Dick" Goodman, 73, of Clinton, formerly of Decatur, died 2:46 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 2, 2003) in Douglas Care and Rehabilitation, Mattoon.
At Mr. Goodman's request, private family services will be Monday. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Alzheimer's Association.
Dick was born Oct. 27, 1929, in Decatur, the son of William and Theo Root Goodman. He was employed at Millikin Bank for 18 years and then worked for John Warner Bank in Clinton until his retirement in 1986 as vice president. He was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Decatur and after moving to Clinton, became a member of Christ Lutheran in Clinton. He loved to dance, play tennis and golf. He married Shirley JoAnne Bahlow on Aug. 27, 1949, in Decatur in St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, Kay Steward and husband Bill of Clinton; sons, Steve Goodman and wife Debbie of Decatur; Greg Goodman and wife Debra of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Steve Goodman Jr., Craig Goodman, Bill Steward Jr., Kelli Steward and Jamie Steward; brother, Rex Goodman and wife Kay of Decatur; sisters, Ina Taylor of Wisconsin; Jackie Curtsinger of Decatur; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.

FINDLAY -- Mary F. Minor, 84, of Findlay passed away 10:57 a.m. Friday (Jan. 3, 2003) in Shelby Memorial Hospital, Shelbyville.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Findlay Cemetery, with the Rev. Tom Compton officiating. Private family visitation will be in Lockart & Sons Funeral Home, Findlay. Memorials: United Methodist Church of Findlay.
Mrs. Minor was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Mount Zion, the daughter of William F. and Estella Davenport Karl. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Findlay. She was steadfast, loyal and strong. She raised her family when most mothers did their working at home. Wonderful meals miraculously appeared from a closet-sized kitchen. Daughters and granddaughters wore hand smocked dresses. In later years, she loved reading, bird watching and her dog, Panda. She was a women of quiet dignity and an example to her family. She married Merle Ward Minor on May 13, 1936, in Shelbyville.
Surviving are her husband; daughters, Marianne Moore and Marsha Harshman and husband Milton, all of Sullivan; Marlene Minor of Champaign; granddaughters, Theresa Colclasure, Hilary Short, Stacy Harshman, Laura Bergman and Leslie Rodman; great-grandchildren, Justin, Sarah, Taylor and Aiden; sister, Evelyn Bergen of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Timothy Moore; brothers, Harold and George Karl; and son-in-law, Sharon Moore.

Jacob was born June 7, 1993, in Mattoon, the son of Alan and Rebecca Beam Stock. He was a fourth grade student at Altamont Grade School, where he was involved in sports. He was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church and Boy Scout Troop 140, Altamont.
Surviving are his father of Mason; mother of Altamont; sisters, Samantha Stock and Stephanie Stock, both of Mason; grandparents, Phyllis Stock of Farina; John "Jim" Beam and wife Maddy of Effingham; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Stock, and grandmother, Barbara Beam.
