DECATUR -- Marcie Wayne Burcham, 48, of Payson, Ariz., formerly of Decatur, died Dec. 21, 2002, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Memorial services were held. Arrangements are by Messinger Payson Funeral Home. Payson. Memorials may be made in Mr. Burcham's name to Payson Elks Lodge, Box 898, Payson, AZ 85547, or RTA Hospice, 107 E. Frontier, Payson, AZ 85541.
Mr. Burcham was born Feb. 12, 1954, in Fort Leavenworth, Kan. He was a survey coordinator for Tetra Tech for 16 years. He served as exalted ruler of the Payson Elks Lodge during the current year.
Surviving are his wife, Twila Burcham; daughters, Cayla Burcham and Jessica DeSchaaf of Payson; sisters, Andrea Sheffing of Dodge City, Kan.; Linda Burcham of New Albany, Ind.; Kathy Gillett of Littleton, Colo.; brother, Rob Burcham of Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Burcham of Lexington, Ky.; mother, Thelma Burke of Decatur.
Cheffer
DECATUR -- Mildred Crossman Cheffer, 90, of Libertyville, formerly of Warrensburg and Decatur, passed away 3:30 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 8, 2003) in Libertyville.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Watkins officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Central Christian Church.
Mildred was born Jan. 9, 1912, on a farm near Warrensburg, the daughter of John and Gertrude Eaton Crossman. She was a 1932 graduate of Warrensburg High School. She worked as a clerk at Curry's Market in Warrensburg and was a member of the Illini Women's Club for more than 50 years. After moving to Decatur in 1964, she worked for many years at Roth Johnson Drug Store. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She moved to Oxford House in 1978 and lived there for 22 years.
Surviving are her son, Charles of Leucadia, Calif.; daughter, Virginia (Daniel) Quane of Libertyville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen (Merrit) Pease of Decatur; Flora Finley of Washington, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Crossman.
Isham
BLUE MOUND -- Ruby B. Isham, 81, of Blue Mound died 1:45 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 8, 2003) in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Private family services will be at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Isham was born June 29, 1921, in Shabbona, the daughter of Wilbur and Pearl Colby. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Prior to her retirement, she was a housemother for a sorority at the University of Illinois for many years.
Surviving are her daughter, Candace J. Brown and husband Kim S. of Blue Mound; sons, Douglas L. Isham and wife Roberta of Esmond; Randall R. Isham and wife Darla of Champaign; grandchildren, Jason W. Brown and wife Michelle of Blue Mound; Matt S. Brown of Iron Mountain, Mich.; Hailey A. Venters and husband Allan of Joliet; Raegan L. Hennemann and husband Raphael of Auburn; Cory R. Isham of Champaign; stepgrandchildren, Sara Beld and husband Jon of Wyoming, Mich.; Travis Dees of Champaign; great-grandchild, Cade M. Brown of Blue Mound; great-stepgrandchildren, Marcus Dees of Blue Mound; Nate and Sidney Beld of Wyoming, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Mom loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart, and we will miss her with all of ours.

DECATUR -- Rontel Travon Collins, infant son of Ron Collins and April D. Kimery of Decatur, passed away 3:25 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 9, 2003).
Family graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Smyser Cemetery, Gays, with the Rev. Richard Coen of Neoga officiating. There will be no visitation. Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, is in charge of arrangements.
Rontel was born 3:25 a.m. Jan. 9, 2003, in St. Mary's Hospital.
Surviving are his parents; brother, Adam Collins of Gays; grandparents, David and Teresa Purcell of Gays; Gary Kimery of Mattoon; Larry and Addie Jones of Decatur; great-grandparents, Gary Lang of Charleston; Jim and Mary Foltz of Mattoon.
He was preceded in death by one sister.

DECATUR -- Russell A. "Tony" Dean, 53, of Decatur died 3:53 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North. Burial will be at a later date in Maroa Cemetery. Memorials: to the family.
Mr. Dean was born March 29, 1949, in Decatur, the son of Russell N. Dean and Anastazia Lazarenko Dean. He was a clerk for Norfolk & Western Railway Co. and a driver for Tyson Foods. He was a member of American Legion Post 105 and affiliated with St. John's Episcopal Church. He was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam era.
Surviving are his mother of Decatur; sons, Keith Dean and wife Antonette of Chula Vista, Calif.; Brian Dean and wife Carrie of Fayetteville, Ark.; daughter, Miyoko Dean of Corpus Christi, Texas; brother, Daniel Dean and wife Christie of Winter Haven, Fla.; granddaughter, Keann; ex-wife, Patricia Engle McGee of Corpus Christi; one nephew, one niece, aunts, several cousins and family members.
He was preceded in death by his father.

DECATUR -- William L. "Bill" Starbody, 76, of Danville, formerly of Decatur, passed away 2:20 p.m. Jan. 3, 2003, in Provena USMC-Logan Campus.
Services were Tuesday in St. James United Methodist Church, Danville. Burial was in Danville National Cemetery. Sunset Crematory, Danville, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Starbody was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Decatur, the son of the late Frank and Thelma Marie Owens Starbody. He married Jane Willard on March 12, 1949, in St. James United Methodist Church, Danville.
Surviving are his wife; son, Jay Louis (Esmeralda) Starbody of Bryan, Ohio; daughter, Gay Leslie (Dennis) Fay of Fairfield, Calif.; brothers, John (Doris) Starbody of Hollister, Calif.; Eugene (Nancy) Starbody of Decatur; sisters, Doris (Paul) Carr of Decatur; Linda (Tom) Howe of Fuquay Varina, N.C.; four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Snoke, and brother, Robert F. Starbody.
Webb
DECATUR -- Elizabeth May Webb, 75, of Decatur died Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2003) in Imboden Creek Living Center after a short battle with cancer.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Graceland Cemetery. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Webb was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Decatur, the daughter of Dr. H.B. and Ruth Elizabeth Rodgers Somerville. She was a member of the GMAC Retirees Club, Decatur Area Arts Council, Macon County Historical Society and the Moundford Free Methodist Church. She worked for Motor Insurance Corp.-General Motors for 29 years, retiring in 1980. She married Wayne H. Webb (founder of Macon Speedway) on Nov. 25, 1980.
Surviving are her friend, Robert Sargent of Macon; cousin, Dennis B. Rodgers and wife Marilynne and family of Champaign; cousin, Judy Rodgers Johnson and husband Philip of Williamsburg, Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne H. Webb and aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rodgers.

Martha Braden of Maroa dies at 102
MAROA -- Martha Angeline Braden, 102, of Maroa died 2:45 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 9, 2003) in Lincoln Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, with the Rev. C. Don Ferrill officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery. Memorials: Maroa Christian Church.
Mrs. Braden was born April 5, 1900, in Wayne County near Mount Erie, the daughter of William Lincoln and Emma Armstrong McCleary. She was one of eight children and at the age of 6, she lost her mother as a result of typhoid fever. She enjoyed working with her flowers and had the special talent of repairing and dressing antique dolls. She pieced many quilts, loved to read and had a great sense of humor. She was affiliated with Maroa Christian Church and a member of Macon County Home Extension. She married Ernest Braden on Oct. 14, 1917, in Macon County. They lived on a farm west and south of Maroa and were married almost 64 years. He passed away in 1981.
Surviving are her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Cisco and Dorothy Braden, both of Maroa; Grace Braden of Decatur; Florence Braden of Lenexa, Kan.; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and five sisters.
She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Thanks to those at Lincoln Manor who gave special care to Martha.
