Rhoda K. Schuessler of Roselle
Services for Rhoda K. Schuessler (nee Hartsel), 84, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, at Martin Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Road, Roselle.
Born June 14, 1914, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at home.
Interment will be private.
A homemaker, she was the loving mother of Ronald (Barb) Schuessler of Barrington, David (Trudy) Schuessler of Harrisburg, Ill., and Lauren (Tim) Kleimeyer of Sleepy Hollow; and cherished grandmother of nine.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 4 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Roselle United Methodist Church, 206 S. Rush St., Roselle, IL 60172.

Mildred M. Schultz of Round Lake Park
A Mass of the Resurrection for Mildred M. Schultz (nee Haupert), 70, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Round Lake.
Born April 24, 1928, in Chicago, she passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at her home. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, following Mass.
Mrs. Schultz had made her home in Round Lake Park for the past 41 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Round Lake.
She leaves her daughter, Judy (Edwin) Johnson of Gurnee; son, William M. Schultz of Waukegan; grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan and Amanda; sisters, Eleanor (Irving) Reed of Tennessee, Marcella Mueller of Barrington and Janice (Wayne) Gray of Streamwood; and brother, Theodore (Debra) Haupert of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Schultz on Sept. 20, 1996; and sister, Katherine in July 1996.
Friends of the family may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. today, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.
Contributions in her memory may be give to the charity of donor's choice.

Nellie Schumacher formerly of Dundee
Services for Nellie Schumacher, 92, will be held at 2 p.m. today, at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee. The Rev. Dr. Thomas Potenza will officiate.
Born Aug. 25, 1906, in Spencer, Iowa, the daughter of George and Belle (nee Wald) Dorsett, she died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Heritage Manor in Elgin.
Burial will be private.
Mrs. Schumacher was a former 60-year resident of Dundee. She was a member of the Dundee VFW #2298 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church of Elginand the church Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to crochet, and was known for her beautiful crochet work.
Survivors include her daughters, Nadine Bartels of Elgin and Patricia (Richard) Koteles of South Elgin; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Laura Fischer of South Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Carl Schumacher, in 1980; son, William Schumacher, in 1991; daughter, Jean Ann Schumacher, in 1938; six brothers; and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church or to the Heritage Manor.

Percy Howard Shue of Glen Ellyn
Memorial services for Percy Howard Shue, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at First Congregational Church, Rogers Chapel, 535 Forest Ave., Glen Ellyn. The Rev. Kevin Brown will officiate.
Born Dec. 15, 1918, in Staunton, Va., he died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Meadowbrook Manor Health Carein Naperville. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery, Staunton.
A resident of Glen Ellyn since 1959 and formerly of Eureka, Kan., Mr. Shue was the director of social services program development for Kiwanis International of Chicago from 1959 to 1983. Prior to that time, he had been president of Utopia College in Eureka and formerly had taught English literature, including Shakespeare and Victorian poetry, at Babson College in Florida. He studied at Berea College in Berea, Ky., did graduate work at Tulane College in New Orleans, La., and earned his doctorate at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md. Among his other interests, Mr. Shue was an avid gardener with an award-winning yard that `exploded' with exotic flowers. A veteran, he was a lieutenant in the 3rd Army with General Patton and received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
Following his retirement, he devoted his energies indoors during a periodof ill health, during which time he built and stocked a library in the Phillipines.
Mr. Shue was a member of the Glen Ellyn Kiwanis for many years and a member of the First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn.
Surviving is his daughter, Jackie (Amlin Gray) Shue of Glen Ellyn.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry H. Shue, an actor and playwright; his wife, Marguerite Dolores Dye Shue; and seven brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions tothe Larry H. Shue Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137, would be appreciated.

Charlotte E. Stowell of Elgin
A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Charlotte E. Stowell, 89, at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
Born May 24, 1912, in Berlin, Germany, to Reinhold and Elise (nee Witzel) Dehn, she died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Stowell left Germany for America on Sept. 24, 1924, with her mother and sister, Irma, and arrived in Elgin, where her father had established residency, working at Myer's Restaurant in downtown Elgin. At the age of 16, she graduated from Ellis Business College and was an executive secretary for many businesses, including the Elgiloy Division of the Elgin National Watch Company before her retirement in 1974. On May 29, 1936, she married Walter Bancroft Stowell, whose pioneer great-grandparents settled in the Elgin area from Connecticut in 1835 and farmed on McDonald Road. Following her retirement, she lived in Brooksville, Fla., and in Willow Lake Estates for 15 years, serving as secretary of the Pinochle Club. She had resided at Countryside Manor since March 1998.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Gordon) Burkhart; grandchildren, Laura (Steve) Hayes of Genoa, Kristin (Dan) Carlson of Kirkland, Ill., and Brian (Marla) Burkhart and Bonnie (Mike) Hanson of Elgin; and beloved great-grandchildren, Erica, Michael and Kevin Carlson, Bradley and Tyler Hayes, Brody and Chase Burkhart, and Keagan and Austin Hanson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter, Jan. 4, 1980; and sister, Irma.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Elgin.

Valerie `Vera' May Trom of Winnetka
Services for Valerie `Vera' May Trom (nee Bennett), 86, will begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, from Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd.
(at Old Orchard Road), Skokie, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 1962 Old Willow Road, Northfield. Intermentwill be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
She was the beloved wife of the late William H. Trom; loving mother ofVirginia (Phillip) Simon and Alice (Herbert) Timm; fond grandmother of Georgi Ann Henderson, Gregory W., Geoffrey B. and George Bennett, Belinda L. and Michael L. Brooks, and William D., Matthew H., Elizabeth T. and Heather A. Timm; and great-grandmother of nine. She was also the dear sister of Alice Begue and the late Albion Bennett, LillianBlahnik, Marion Dickey and Donald Bennett.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Foster V. Vick of West Dundee
Visitation for Foster V. Vick, 66, formerly of Carpentersville, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today, at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee.
Born in Chicago on Aug. 9, 1932, the son of Foster J. and Verna Johnstone Vick, he died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at Asta Care Centerin Elgin. Services and interment will be private.
Mr. Vick was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a 25-yearresident of the Dundee/Carpentersville area.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Rita G. Lyons Vick; daughters, Lynn (Mike) Penley of Crystal Lake and Janet Vick of Downers Grove; sons, Michael Vick of West Dundee, Richard (fiancee, Kelly Spizer) Vick of Geneva and Foster (Jackie) Vick of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Sean, Vincent, Erica and Matthew; sisters, Nancy Buterbaugh of Elgin and Eunice (Gus) Kubish of Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

John Martin Bergman of Elgin
Visitation for John Martin Bergman, 46, will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee.
Born Oct. 24, 1952, in Chicago, he died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
Mr. Bergman had been a resident of the Elgin-Carpentersville area for 39 years. He had been employed at Biggers Chevrolet for 27 years, most recently as new car service manager.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Debra K. Holte Bergman, whom he married May 26, 1979; daughters, Sara and Laura, both at home; mother, Shirley Bergman Corbely of Algonquin; brothers, Henry C. (Judy) Bergman Jr. of Mount Prospect and Richard (Alicia) Bergman of Algonquin; sisters, Shirley (Gary Halley) Ingram of Lyons and Cheryl (Robert) Haughey of Algonquin; god children, Megan and Rebecca Haughey; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was precededin death by his father, Henry C. Bergman Sr.

Dennis B. Besaw of Round Lake
Services for Dennis B. Besaw, 54, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake.
Pastor Linda Philabaun, associate pastor of the United Protestant Church of Round Lake will officiate.
Born Nov. 8, 1944, in Elmhurst, he passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Highland Park Hospital. Interment will be private.
He had been a 20-year resident of Round Lake, and a former resident of Antioch. He was a member and Deacon of Calvary Presbyterian Church of Round Lake. Mr. Besaw retired in 1998 from Commonwealth Edison, where he was employed as a supervisor.
He leaves his wife, Karen (nee Troy), whom he married on July 22, 1978; children, Pamela (Gerald) Altman of Grayslake, Kevin (Ruthann) Stateler of Round Lake, Andrea (Don) Weber of Burlington, Wis., Keith (Sandra) Stateler of Round Lake, Fred (Heidi) Troy of Mundelein, Scott (Kristen) of Kenosha, Wis., Kirk Stateler of Round Lake, Lisa Troy and Charlene Troy of Gurnee; grandchildren, Lindsey, Patrick, Elisha, Kayla, Savannah, Erika, Austin, Selena, Amelia and Katherine; parents, Gerald and Pat Besaw of Maywood; sister, Pat Krysa; and brothers, Roger, Kerry and Gordon Besaw.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joe Anne in 1947.
Friends of the family may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.

Bernice M. Erickson of Fox Lake
Private services will be held for Bernice M. Erickson, age 91.
Born Aug. 31, 1907, in Chicago, she passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at home.
A five-year resident of Fox Lake, she had formerly lived in Round Lake and was a member of the Round Lake `Happy Seniors.' She leaves her stepdaughter, Donna J. Sass of California; brother, William (Evelyn) Abramovske of North Riverside; nephews, William (Sherry) Abermoske of Ingleside and Arthur (Lou) Ingerman of Marengo; niece, Marilyn (Joe) Sajdak of Douglas, Mich.; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Minium in 1950, and Nels Richard Erickson.
Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army in her memory.
Arrangements were made by Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake.
