Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Schilling Funeral Home, Mattoon. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial: Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorials: American Lung Association or donor s choice.

Navy veteran. Member: American Legion Post 88 and Eagles Club. Survivors: wife, Phyllis Phillips; stepmother, Dorothy Phillips, Mattoon; brothers, Gary Phillips, Atwood; Charles Phillips, Mattoon; sisters, Judy Norberg, Auburn, Wash.; Linda Carpenter, Coo

Plummer

BEMENT -- Lyndal Bobbett Plummer, 87, of Bement died 10:10 a.m. Friday (Feb. 7, 2003) in Kirby Hospital, Monticello.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bement United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Bramlett officiating. Visitation will be 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday in Roux-Hinds Funeral Home, Bement. Burial will be in Bement Township Cemetery. Memorials: Bement United Methodist Church or Kirby Hospital.

Mrs. Plummer was born July 29, 1915, in Fairfield, the daughter of Charles A. and Bertha Matthews Bobbett. She was a 1934 graduate of Monticello High School. She was a member of Bement United Methodist Church, Bement Woman s Club and a loyal supporter of the Bement Country Opry. She married Clark "Dingy" Plummer on Nov. 1, 1943, in Monticello. He preceded her in death Sept. 1, 1989.

Surviving are her daughter, Sue Plummer Loveridge and husband Robert of Scottsdale, Ariz.; brother, Dennis Bobbett of Lexington, Ky. whose calls made her eyes sparkle; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; husband; son, Ray Plummer who gave his all in Vietnam and died Dec. 1, 1968; sisters, Mary Ellen Allen Craig and Pearl Shonkwiler; brothers, Lowell, Eldon and Carol Bobbett; grand-dogs, Sweetie and Angel.

A special thanks to niece, Linda Sprau of Gibson City and nephew, Jeff Shonkwiler of Decatur and their familes. Additional special thanks to Ed, Jack, and Tom Walsh and familes; Greg Romack and Sandy Fritz of Bement; the Monticello Kirby Hospital staff and Pastor Steve Bramlett for their extra support and comfort which will forever be appreciated. A sincere thank you to Mary Jane Harshbarger and Ivesdale and Lyndal s grand-dog, Sunshine for being at Sue s side every step of the way.

TOLEDO -- Jimmie L. Schooley, 67, The Villages, Fla., formerly of Toledo, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003).

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, First Baptist Church of Belleview, Fla. Arrangements by: Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Belleview, Fla. Memorials: First Baptist Church of Belleview Building Fund.

Member: First Baptist Church and The Villages Illinois Club. Survivors: wife, Diane Schooley, The Villages, Fla.; daughter, Suzanne Page, Davenport, Iowa; sons, David Schooley, Moline; Robert Schooley, Orlando, Fla.; four grandsons.

Sidner

ALTAMONT -- Marcella Emily Berg Sidener, 77, of Altamont died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) in Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Altamont with the Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont and one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Sidener Cemetery, rural Wheatland Township. Memorials: Immanuel Lutheran Church Parish Hall Building Fund or donor s choice.

Mrs. Sidener was born May 19, 1925, in Altamont, the daughter of Arthur "A.H." and Lorah Stuckemeyer Berg. She was a life communicant member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she had been active as a Sunday school teacher, home bible study leader, a member of Immanuel Ladies Aid Society and the Altar Guild. She was a member of Altamont VFW Post 7676 Ladies Auxiliary. She had been employed by A.H. Berg Cheverolet Garage, A & H Implement Company and Kull Funeral Home, all in Altamont. She married Willard E. "Porky Sidene" on July 2, 1949, in Melvin. He preceded her in death March 15, 1986.

Surviving are her sisters, Doris Wolf and husband Delbert of Collinsville; Florence Beccue of Effingham; sister-in-law, Mary L. Berg of Altamont; several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Kenneth Arthur Berg and nephew, Jeffrey Lynn Berg.

VanDorn

TUSCOLA -- Barbara Louise VanDorn, 70, Tuscola, formerly of Newman, retired from University of Illinois Building Services, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003).

Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Hilligoss-Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Burial: Newman Cemetery. Memorials: Provena Covenant Hospice Unit, 1400 West Park St., Urbana, IL 61801.

Boehm

DECATUR -- Elizabeth Ann Boehm, 66, Decatur, homemaker, died Jan. 27, 2003.

Private family burial: Monday, Graceland Cemetery. No visitation. Arrangements by: Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.

Chesmar

DECATUR -- Robert Joseph Chesmar, 83, Decatur, General Mills employee, died Friday (Feb. 7, 2003).

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Monday, Graceland Cemetery with military rites. Visitation: 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.

Dudley

DECATUR -- Michael T. Dudley, 49, Decatur, died Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home.

Garland

DECATUR -- Cloy M. Garland, 95, of Byers, Colo., formerly of Decatur, died Tuesday (Feb. 4, 2003) in Limon Nursing Home, Limon, Colo.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Memorials: Byers Rescue Service, Byers, CO 80103.

Mrs. Garland was born Sept. 29, 1907, on a farm north of Niantic, the daughter of Horace N. and Elsie A. Enloe Ford. She went to North Dakota with her parents and three brothers in 1910, then moved back to Illinois in February 1930. She worked many years for the Garment Factory in Decatur. She was a past member of Mound Chapel Church of God. She worked as a clerk in the Byers Post office and retired after 13 years. She married Ray Garland on Oct. 16, 1940. He preceded her in death May 26, 1956. They moved to Colorado in 1940 and had a wheat farm until 1957. They loved the mountains and loved to take off and fish in the mountain streams.

Surviving are her brothers, Marvin Ford of Decatur; Carroll Ford and wife Naomi of Mount Zion; sister, Ruth Wampler of Decatur; stepgranddaughter, Priscilla of Colorado; sister-in-law, Gladys Ford Black of Macon; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Perry Ford and Victor Ford; sister, Georgia Beinfohr; sisters-in-law, Louise Ford and Beulah Ford; and brother-in-law, Lavern Beinfohr.

Sleep in peace, sister. I will miss your phone calls.

Gillibrand

DECATUR -- Ronald E. Gillibrand, 52, of Decatur entered into eternal life Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003) in his home.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Rick Weltin officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the church with 7 p.m. vigil prayer service. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery. Memorials: Todd Gillibrand Educational Fund, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.

Ron was born Jan. 9, 1951, in Decatur, the son of Wilburn E. and Myreta Jennings Gillibrand. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur Chordsman Barbershop and Service Employee Union 73. Ron was employed as a locksmith for the Decatur public schools for 18 years. He proudly served our country in the Navy on the USS Constellation. Ron married Cheryl A. Riedel on Oct. 29, 1977, in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife; son, Todd (fiancee, Heather) Gillibrand of Champaign; stepmother, Betty L. Gillibrand of Decatur; brother, Thomas B. Gillibrand; sister-in-law, Sharon (Michael) Taylor of Decatur; cousin, Robert (Donna) Burdick of Charlotte, N.C.; four nieces, one nephew and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Special thanks to the Cancer Care Center in Decatur, Dr. Delores Estrada-Garcia and all the wonderful nurses, Decatur Memorial Hospital 5th floor Cancer ward, and DMH Home Health & Hospice nurses.

Hunt

DECATUR -- Richard A. Hunt, 73, Decatur, retired from U.S. Postal Service, died Friday (Feb. 7, 2003).

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial: Graceland Cemetery.

Miles

DECATUR -- Frank Patrick Miles, 81, Danville, formerly of Decatur, retired from Hysters, died Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003).

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Danville VA Catholic Chapel. Visitation: two hours before services. Burial: Danville National Cemetery with military rites. Arrangements by: Pape Funeral Home and Gardens, Danville.

Mitchell

DECATUR -- Lila L. Mitchell, 69, of Washburn, Iowa, formerly of Decatur, died Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003) in Allen Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa, from complications of leukemia.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball in Waterloo. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until services. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Memorials: St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Washburn.

Mrs. Mitchell was born Dec. 14, 1933, in Decatur, the daughter of Arch Beals Sr. and Fern Buffenmeyer Beals. She graduated high school in Decatur and formerly worked in sales for 26 years for Sears, Roebuck and Co., having retired in 1993. She married James A. Mitchell on May 7, 1954, in Decatur. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 1991.

Surviving are her son, John A. Mitchell and wife Carolyn of Freeport; daughter, Jane A. Clark and husband Jeff of Waterloo, Iowa; brother, Arch Beals Jr. of Decatur; sister, Shirley "Joanne" Stephens of Decatur; grandchildren, Melissa Clark of Waterloo; James and Jared Mitchell, both of Freeport.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Neal

DECATUR -- Stevie Michael Neal, 45, Decatur, Wagner Castings Co. employee, died Tuesday (Feb. 4, 2003).

Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Church of the Living God PGT Temple 3. Visitation: one hour before services in the church. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by: J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home.

Sarver

DECATUR -- Delice M. Sarver, 77, Decatur, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003).

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Monday, God's Abundant Love Church, Long Creek. Arrangements by: Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Memorials: Juvenile Diabetes. Association.

Roe

DECATUR -- Ivan Leon Roe Sr., 86, of Decatur died 8:10 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 8, 2003) in his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard.

Ivan was born July 17, 1916, in Fillmore, the son of Ora D. and Mary Edna Whitten Roe. He was proof designer for Caterpillar Inc. for many years and retired Jan. 31, 1980. He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was member and ordained deacon of Summit Avenue Baptist Church. He was a member of Macon 8 Masonic Lodge AF & AM. He married Velma Bernice Himes on Jan. 10, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo. She preceded him in death Jan. 7, 2002.

Surviving are his son, Ivan L. Roe Jr. and wife Mary of Decatur; daughter, Beverly A. Johnston and husband Kenneth of Decatur; brother, Wayne Roe and wife Marie of Mulberry Grove; sisters, Leota Wilcox of Greenville; Irma Wise of Fillmore; grandchildren, Barbara A. Painter, Shannon I. Brown, Benjamin John Roe and wife Gidgetta, Jessica M. Roe and Andrea L. Roe; 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one granddaughter and two great-granddaughters.

Shull

DECATUR -- Aundrea Fae Shull, 13, Decatur, student at Mound Middle School, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003).

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Burial: Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorials: to help pay for
arrangements, in care of Rochelle D. Boline, Garfield Estates, 3611 Garfield, Decatur, IL 62526.
