Banton
DECATUR -- Oral E. Banton, 93, of Decatur passed away 8:41 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003) in Lincoln Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Memorials: Lincoln Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. Banton was born Oct. 26, 1909, in Mount Zion, the son of Edmund and Nellie Davis Banton. He retired after 36 years with A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. He married Martha Weber on June 25, 1932, in Bloomington. Following his long career with Staley's, Mr. and Mrs. Banton retired to Missouri and enjoyed many years of retirement. He took up gardening, boating, doing stained glass and other hobbies. They returned to Decatur to be closer to family.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years; children, Edmund W. Banton and wife Carol of Hayden, Idaho; Sharlene S. Smith of Wheaton; Don E. Banton of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Boehm
DECATUR -- Robert A. Boehm Sr. 77, of Decatur died 11:16 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003) in his home.
Funeral Mass will be 7 p.m. Friday in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with visitation two hours before services. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Graceland Cemetery
with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: St. Jude Children's Hospital or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Robert was born Nov. 5, 1925, in Decatur, the son of William A. and Christine Rampitsch Boehm. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He was a charter member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, worked at Decatur Signal Depot for 17 years and Caterpillar Inc. for 23 years, retiring in 1988. He married Juanita Manes on May 22, 1948, in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years; children, Judy Andrix and husband Tom of Wellsville, Ohio; Linda Yarbrough and husband Mick of Decatur; Robert A. Boehm Jr. and wife Mary K. of Saratoga, Calif.; Shirley Mitchell and husband Robert of St. Charles, Mo.; Ron Boehm and wife Marsha of Huntsville, Ala.; Tina Shepke and husband Frank of Tremont; grandchildren, Jeff, Brian, Tonya and husband John, Tony, Kevin, Kathleen, Kyle, Justin, Natalie, Kurtis, Chelsea, Reid, Tyler and Kastin; great-granddaughter, Grace; brother, Fred Boehm of Fort Worth, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
He was a devoted husband who cherished his six children, 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. We will miss his love, leadership and enthusiasm for life. May he rest in peace with our Lord.

DECATUR -- Bonnie M. Vest, 79, of Decatur, formerly of Niantic, died 2:45 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003) in Aspen Ridge.
According to her wishes, her body is being donated for medical research. Private memorial services will be Saturday. Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Aspen Ridge fifth floor.
Mrs. Vest was born Jan. 19, 1924, in Piatt County, the daughter of Elmer and Anna Day Mosser. She ran a restaurant and gas station with her husband and worked for Kresge Co. She married Jack Vest on Oct. 10, 1942. He preceded her in death July 4, 1983.
Surviving are her daughters, Jaqueline A. Gunnels and husband Bill of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; Judy Daubs and husband Harold of Illiopolis; brothers, Elmer Mosser Jr., William Mosser and Harley Mosser, all of Decatur; sister, Mary Dodson of Wheaton; grandchildren, G. William Gunnels, Robert M. Daubs and Christina Huff; great-grandson, Jordan Huff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, George Mosser.

Mr. Clover was born April 24, 1925, in Cisco, the son of Russell and Lola Clover. He served in the 151st Infantry 45th Division of the
Army during World War II, seeing action at Omaha Beach. He retired from General Tire and Rubber Co. after 28 years in 1985. He was national manager of off-road tire sales, retired as Ohio Valley zone manager.
Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Louise; daughter, Janet Clover of Fairlawn; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Michael Barker of Charlotte, N.C.; grandsons, Kyle and Todd Barker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Max.

SHELBYVILLE -- George W. Inyart, 91, of Shelbyville died 10 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003) in Sheryl's Place, Shelbyville.

Mr. Inyart was born Oct. 27, 1911, in Olney, the son of George W. and Mary S. Berry Inyart. He was associated with Inyart's Shoe Store in Shelbyville for more than 50 years and was an avid Cubs fan. He married LaVange E. Weesner on April 1, 1934, in Parkersburg. She preceded him in death Oct. 5, 1987.
Surviving are his son, Richard M. Inyart and wife Donna of Decatur; twin daughters, Carolyn Masterson and husband Charles of Springfield; Marilyn Stirrett and husband James of Old Hickory, Tenn.; grandchildren, Lori Canania of Dorsey; Barbara England and Susan Masterson, both of Springfield; Jamie Nagy of Brookings, S.D.; 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Ralph, Lyle, Ernie and Jasper; sisters, Dorothy, Katie, Gertrude, Inice, Rosa, Mary Alice, Thelma and Irene; brother, Paul; and infant sister, Ruth.
