Vest

DECATUR -- Bonnie M. Vest, 79, of Decatur, formerly of Niantic, died 2:45 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003) in Aspen Ridge Care Centre.

According to her wishes, her body is being donated for medical research. Private memorial services will be Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003. Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Aspen Ridge Care Centre, fifth floor.

Mrs. Vest was born Jan. 19, 1924, in Piatt County, the daughter of Elmer Mosser and Anna Day Mosser. She ran a restaurant and gas station with her husband. She also worked for Kresge Co. She married Jack Vest on Oct. 10, 1942. He preceded her in death July 4, 1983.

Surviving are her daughters, Jacqueline A. Gunnels and husband Bill of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; Judy Daubs and husband Harold of Illiopolis; brothers, Elmer Mosser Jr., William Mosser and Harley Mosser, all of Decatur; sister, Mary Dodson of Wheaton; grandchildren, G. William Gunnels, Robert M. Daubs and Christina Huff; great-grandson, Jordan Huff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, George Mosser.

DECATUR -- Louvern Wilder, 65, Decatur, died Friday (Feb. 14, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Walker Funeral Service and Chapel.

SHELBYVILLE -- Doris R. Shutt Britton, 98, Shelbyville, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville.

BROWNSTOWN -- Mila Rosetta McCormick, 85, Brownstown, retired Johnson, Stephens, Shinkle Shoe Factory employee, died Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003).

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown. Visitation: one hour before services. Private family graveside services: at a later date, Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Memorials: Fayette County Hospital Hospice.

ROBINSON -- Betty L. Baker, 68, Robinson, formerly of Oblong, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003).

World War II Navy veteran. Member: American Legion, Marshall, and Eagles Club, Mattoon. Survivors: daughters, Diana Pilson, Mattoon; Jo Ann Beyers, Bloomington; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Preceded by: wife, Florence, three brothers, two sisters.
