Garmon
NOKOMIS -- Bernice Angeline "Bonnie" Garmon, 90, Nokomis, died Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) in Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sutton Funeral Home, Nokomis, with the Rev. Jeanette Stevens officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial: Asbury Cemetery, Raymond. Memorials: United Methodist Church of Nokomis.
Mrs. Garmon was born April 20, 1912, in Stonington, the daughter of John Henry and Mamie Dishon Coffey. She was a homemaker and waitress for Green Gables in Taylorville. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Nokomis and H&M Society United Methodist Church. She married James Arthur Garmon on Aug. 28, 1931. He preceded her in death May 29, 1976.
Surviving are her son, Lyle Garmon of Taylor Springs; Raymond Garmon of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughters, Martha Klump and husband Gene of Raymond; Wilma Hallers and husband Carl of Taylor Springs; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Coffey; sister, Florence Walker.

Mrs. Nobel was born Feb. 13, 1912, in Tuscola, the daughter of Alonzo and Letha Lindsey Fuller. She received her bachelor's degree and master's degree in education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She retired from teaching in the Murphysbo
ro School District. She was affiliated with Mount Pleasant Jerusalem Christian Church, Pomona. She was devoted to her family and instilled in them a love of education and music. She married James Riley Nobel on April 9, 1936, in Murphysboro. He preceded her in death Oct. 9, 1987.
Surviving are her daughter, Donna Wills of Beecher City; grandchildren, Sally Zimmerman and husband Steve of Vandalia; Joe Wills of Beecher City; Mary Wills of Shelbyville; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Carter and Jake Wills and David and Rachel Zimmerman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Ruth Ann in infancy; son-in-law, Billy Dean Wills; three brothers and five sisters.

Edna was born Dec. 10, 1921, in Redwood Falls, Minn., the daughter of John and Sophie Anderson King. She was a real estate agent for many years with numerous real estate agencies in Decatur and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She married William Wayne Harper on Dec. 13, 1941, in Cahokia, Mo. He preceded her in death Dec. 10, 2001.
Surviving are her sons, William Wayne Jr. "Bill" Harper and wife Janet of Flushing, Mich.; James Bryan "Jim" Harper and wife Sharon of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Paulette Harper of Decatur; brother, John King and wife Judy of Bloomington; sister, Margaret Lacrone of Texas; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert Lee Harper Sr.; and four sisters.
Holzer
DECATUR -- Howard J. Holzer, 71, of Morton, formerly of Decatur, died 8:27 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bethel Lutheran Church, Morton, with Pastor Brian Pape officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home, Morton, and 10 to 10:45 a.m. before services in the church. Burial will be in Hirstein Cemetery, Morton. Mr. Holzer was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Oak Park, the son of John K. and Frieda Fleck Holzer. He was a first lieutenant in the
Army Corps of Engineers from April 1954 to April 1956 in Korea. He graduated with a B.S. in civil engineering in 1954 from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He was a civil engineer and vice president at J.L. Simmons Co. in Decatur for 25 years, then a project director for 20 years at Perini Corp. in Phoenix, Ariz., retiring in 1993. Notable projects included Waterson Towers at Illinois State University and Staley Library at Millikin University in Decatur. Also, he was involved in projects at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Stephen Decatur High School (now a middle school) and the Herald & Review building, both in Decatur, and many other projects throughout Illinois, Arizona, Nevada and California. He was a member of The Society of Professional Engineers, Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton and a former member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Decatur, serving as financial secretary, building addition project manager and elder. He married Joanne Dunkel on Dec. 20, 1952, in Argenta.
Surviving are his wife; sons, John (Tammy) Holzer of Garland, Texas; the Rev. William (Tina) Holzer of Brenham, Texas; Christopher (Tammy) Holzer of River Forest; daughter, Cheryl (Frank Krebs) Ooton-Krebs of Morton; sister, Barbara (George) McKissick of Naperville; mother, of Naperville; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two stepgrandchildren and one great-stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father and one granddaughter.
