Traylor

TAYLORVILLE -- Robert Eldon "Red" Traylor, 76, of Taylorville died Monday (Feb. 17, 2003) in St. John's Hospice, Springfield.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville, with the Rev. Dr. Philip Icenogle officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton.

Mr. Traylor was born March 9, 1926, in New Berlin, the son of Charles and Grace Sewell Traylor. He retired from Borg-Warner Corp. in 1987 as a set up man. He was a state and national LST Association member. He was a life member of the VFW and Polka Club Country Squires. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a country musician and entertained throughout Illinois and was a former co-owner of The Country Opera, Edinburg. He married Elnora Mae Mize on Jan. 4, 1986, in Taylorville.

Surviving are his sons, Kenneth Traylor of Chicago; Kevin Traylor of Springfield; sister, Mary Bloom-Beams of Springfield; companion, Irene Saccomano.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Elnora Mae Traylor.

Wonsavage

LINCOLN -- Alta May Wonsavage, 92, Lincoln, died Monday (Feb. 17, 2003).

Graveside services: 10 a.m. Thursday, St. Mary's Cemetery, Lincoln. No visitation. Arrangements by: Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorials: Assembly of God Church Building Fund, Mason City.

Brosamer

DECATUR -- Vivian Shofner Brosamer, 67, of Decatur died Monday (Feb. 17, 2003) in her home.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Dennis Kollross officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8
p.m. Friday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home with 4:30 p.m. vigil prayer service. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Habitat for Humanity, Box 4112, Decatur, IL 62521 or St. Teresa Educational Foundation.

Vivian Joyce Shofner was born Sept. 12, 1935, in Greenup, the daughter of Oliver and Gladys Sherwood Shofner. She was a graduate of Cumberland High School and graduated with honors from Springfield College. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Vivian was an avid reader and master gardener, who enjoyed needlepoint and other crafts. She was a loving caregiver and provider to her family. She married Lowell Brosamer on Dec. 28, 1957, in St. Mary's Church, Lincoln.

Surviving are her husband; son, Peter (Dawn) Brosamer of Decatur; daughters, Melissa Brosamer and friend Leonard Leach of Springfield; Laura (Chris) Brosamer-Senger of Decatur; Mary (Sean) Keohane of Canyon Country, Calif.; Elizabeth (Ariel) Valdes of Countryside; Jane (Steve) Allison of Decatur; Sarah Brosamer of Decatur; grandchildren, Jessica, Alexander, Mary Katherine "Katie" Brosamer-Senger; Blake, Jackson and Madeline Allison, Paxton Brosamer, all of Decatur; Gabriel, Sebastian and Pilar Valdes of Countryside.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and brother, Sherwood Shofner.

Special thanks to the Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois and DMH Home Health & Hospice Services for the care they gave Vivian.

Camp

DECATUR -- Mary Beth Camp, 23, of Decatur went to be with the Lord Tuesday (Feb. 18, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kirk Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home, and one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Lutheran School Association.

Mary was born Sept. 24, 1979, in Decatur, the daughter of Jeffery and Cheryl Hedrick Camp. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and the church bell choir. She had worked for United Parcel Service. Mary was a 1997 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School and a 1999 graduate of Richland Community College, where she was a member of the Breakfast Club and Trio.

She is survived by her parents; grandparents, Kenneth and Phyllis Hedrick and Eleanor and Bob Spracklen, all of Decatur; Leo Camp and Betty of Griffin, Ga.; sister, Michele Camp of Decatur; uncle, John (Lisa) Hedrick of Decatur; aunts, Judy (Mark) Burrow of Altamont; Lori Mellon of Decatur; several cousins and a large church family.

Jestis

DECATUR -- Gerry L. Jestis, 57, formerly of Decatur, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 18, 2003).

Sharing of memories will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Sundown Tavern. The family requests a side dish be brought. Arrangements are by Owens Mortuary, Holbrook, Ariz.

Gerry was born Aug. 1, 1945, the son of Robert and Lorretta Jestis.

Surviving are his mother, daughters, Tanya Martin, Robin Barton and Star Jestis; son, Troy Jestis; four brothers; two sisters; four stepchildren; seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Jestis, and father.

Crow

DECATUR -- Margaret Rose Crow, 89, of Decatur died 6:52 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 18, 2003) in Lincoln Manor.

Funeral liturgy will be 1 p.m. Friday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with 8 p.m vigil prayer service. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials: St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Mrs. Crow was born Dec. 29, 1913, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Harry McLaughlin and Amelia McFarland Coburn. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was a loving homemaker. She married Harold J. Crow on March 16, 1935.

Surviving are her husband; daughters, Norma Cooper and husband Floyd and Gloria Shutter and husband Gary, all of Decatur; sister, Mary Spidle and husband Clark of Flint, Mich.; grandchildren, Leesa Lauderdale and husband Richard of Streator; Laura Armon a
nd husband Tony of Salt Lake City, Utah; Stacey Hedden and husband Brad, Shannen Ray and husband Josh, and J.J. Shutter, all of Decatur; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Lincoln Manor for all their loving care. Margaret will be sadly missed by everyone.

Dillon

DECATUR -- James R. Dillon, of Decatur, formerly of Sesser, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 18, 2003) in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mount Zion.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bear Point Church, Sesser. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home, Sesser, and one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery, Sesser.

Mr. Dillon was born Oct. 5, 1921, in Sesser, the son of Charles and Mabel Dillon. He was formerly a farmer in Sesser and retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 27 years. He married Ruth Fite in 1943.

Surviving are his son, Robert (Marilyn) Dillon of Dalton City; daughter, Diana (Jim) Taylor of Decatur; brothers, Bill Dillon of Cahokia, Mo.; Tom Dillon of Fairview Heights; Fred Dillon of Tuscola; sisters, Marie Smith of Carbondale; Luella McFarland of Rolla, Mo.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, eight brothers, one sister and one great-grandson.

Green

DECATUR -- Floyd Green Sr., 67, Decatur, died Wednesday (Feb. 19, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Walker Funeral Service and Chapel.

Thomas

DECATUR -- Warren "Bubby" Thomas, 55, of Decatur departed this life Sunday (Feb. 16, 2003).

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Church of the Living God CWFF, with Overseer Harry Hendricks officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Walker Funeral Service and Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Bubby was born Aug. 19, 1947, in Decatur, the son of Henry and Katie Thomas. He att
ended Decatur public schools and later furthered his education in Los Angeles, Calif. He graduated from the National Engineering and Technical School with a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering. At an early age, he enrolled in the Navy Reserve, receiving an honorable discharge. He has worked many jobs in his career. He has been employed by Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Decatur; Caterpillar Inc. in Decatur and Peoria, and Ford Motor Co. in Indianapolis, Ind. He had worked in Terre Haute, Ind., with CDI Co. in Ypsilanti, Mich., and then transferred to Warren, Mich. He worked there as an electrical and mechanical designer. He worked for Green Valley Co. in Mount Zion and his career ended with Air Caster in Decatur. He was a member of Night Owl motorcyle Organization and Church of the Living God CWFF. He married Martha L. Cliff on Oct. 31, 1964.

He leaves not to mourn, but to cherish fond memories, his lifelong friend and wife; sons, Diangilos Thomas, Karlondus (Melinda) Thomas, Sunseray (Shirlene) Thomas, LaWarren (Qiana) Thomas and Andre Brown, all of Decatur; Elfaygo (Patricia) Thomas of Indianapolis; daughter, Warrenette Thomas of Decatur; brothers, Darryl (Eola) Thomas of Chicago; Bobby Charles Holloway of Milwaukee, Wis.; 22 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Martha Cliff; sisters-in-law, Nanny (James) Lee of Chicago; Barbara (Harry) Hendricks of Hawthorne, Calif.; brother-in-law, Thomas Cliff of Decatur; aunts, Betty Jean Turner and Velorice Collins, both of St. Louis, Mo.; many special nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Bishop E. A. Morgan; Robert Kennedy; Dr. Peter Birk; Larry Hayes; Levoy Reed.

He was preceded in death by his son, LaWarren DeLeon Thomas, parents, brother, sister, grandmother and father-in-law.

The family would like to thank DMH Cancer Care and the wonderful fifth floor staff. A special thanks to Dr. Valasco.

Bubby will be missed by everyone.

DECATUR -- Donald W. Wright, 68, Decatur, died 9:55 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 16, 2003).

Graveside services: 10 a.m. Friday, Boiling Springs Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes.
