DECATUR -- Joyce E. Phillips Kunski, 64, of Decatur, died 1:29 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 27, 2003) in her home.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Memorials to: American Cancer Society.
Joyce was born March 21, 1938, in Decatur, the daughter of C. Willard and Millie J. Phillips. She retired from Macon Resources as a developmental technician and while at General Electric Co.was elected as the financial secretary for the union. She was a volunteer for the March of Dimes, an active blood donor and loved arts and crafts. She married Leonard Kunski on Jan. 20, 1986, in Decatur.
Surviving are her husband, Leonard of Decatur; daughter, Mona Brimberry and husband Kent of Decatur; sister, Nancy Eubanks and husband Mike of Mahomet; Patricia "Getz" Kieser of Hallendale, Fla.; granddaughter, Marsha Rucker and husband Jeremy of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Corinna Lindsay and Audrey Rucker; two nieces; six nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

DECATUR -- Martha May "Marty" Voorhees, 58, of Decatur died Tuesday (Feb. 25, 2003) in her sister's home in Grand Blanc, Mich., after a long battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Monday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour before services. Memorials: Lutheran School Association.
Mrs. Voorhees was born March 4, 1944, in Caraway, Ark., the daughter of John and Arah Mae Petty. She worked at K's Merchandise home office for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She married Jerry Voorhees.
Surviving is her husband of Villa Grove; daughters, Michelle Hazelrigg and husband Matthew of Decatur; Tracy Gilbert and husband Jeff of Kenosha, Wis.; sisters, Betty Krause and husband Herb of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Patty Wallace and husband Randy of Grand Blanc, Mich.; brothers, Duane Petty and wife Ada of Gardanelle, Ark.; Hoyt Petty and wife Sue of Flint, Mich.; Dave Petty and wife Sarah and Jim Petty and wife June, all of Burton, Mich.; grandchildren, Brittany, Jacob and Sam Hazelrigg, all of Decatur; Cortney Gilbert of Sheboygan, Wis.; Grayson Gilbert of Kenosha, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dean.

LOVINGTON -- Betty Allen, 84, of Upland, Calif., formerly of Lovington, died Wednesday (Feb. 26, 2003).

Mrs. Allen was born July 1, 1918, in Lovington. She lived 23 years in Lovington. She was a high school graduate and a homemaker. She married Benjamin F. Allen. He preceded her in death.
Surviving is her daughter, Patricia A. Cook of Los Angeles, Calif.; sons, Charles W. Ballinger of Arcadia, Calif.; John C. Ballinger of Alvin, Texas; sister, Ruth Weaver of Decatur; brothers, Rush Weeks of Flatwoods, Ky.; George Weeve of Vine Grove, Ky; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Roger W. Ballinger; one grandchild.

ARTHUR -- Lucille M. Hayse, 76, of Arthur died 1:13 a.m. Friday (Feb. 28, 2003) in her home in Arthur.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Shrader Funeral Home, Arthur, with Bill Johnston officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Arthur Cemetery. Memorials: Roman Road Baptist Church, Arthur.
Mrs. Hayse was born July 9, 1926, in Falls of Rough, Ky., the daughter of Marion and Julia Rogers Allen. She worked for Schrock Cabinets in Arthur as a sander. She was a member of Roman Road Baptist Church. She loved gardening, flowers and yard work. She married Robert Hayse on Oct. 19, 1943, in Owensboro, Ky. He preceded her in death Sept. 28, 1994.
Surviving are her sons, Robert Hayse and wife Kathleen of San Antonio, Texas; Ronald Hayse and wife Marsha and Marion Hayes, all of Arthur; daughters, Barbara Mosley and husband Michael of Tuscola; Jackie Tholen and husband Jim of Atwood; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Sol Allen of Caneyville, Ky.; sister, Nola Wilhelm of Tuscola.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
