Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph s Catholic Church, Ivesdale, with the Rev. Greg Nelson officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Bement High School Gymnasium. Burial will be in St. Joseph s Catholic Cemetery, Ivesdale, with military rites by Albert Parker American Legion Post 620, Bement. Roux-Hinds Funeral Home, Bement is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Walsh was born Oct. 16, 1951, in Urbana, the son of Raphael E. "Ray" and Patricia Ann Patty Loftus Walsh. He was a farmer. He was a member, usher and trustee of St. Michael s Catholic Church, active in Bement Athletic Boosters, past president of Bement School Board, Lake Fork Ditch Community, assistant Bement High School girl s basketball coach, as well as coach of various little league, pony league and major league baseball teams. He also coached girl s softball and was past president of Bement Grain Co., Illinois Farm Bureau and the Illinois National Guard. He recieved the Bement High School Volunteer Award on May 16, 2002, for his many hours of volunteer work within the school. He married Gloria A. GloAnn Hendrix on April 11, 1970 in Bement.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Tim (Jeanniene) Walsh of Effingham; Kevin Michael Walsh of Bement; daughter, Julie Walsh of Bement; grandchildren, Makayla, Christian and Kennan; mother, Patricia Ann Patty Walsh of Bement; brothers, Chuck, Tom and Steve Walsh, all of Bement; sisters, Sue Walsh and Dianne Walsh, both of Bement; Carol Bates and Janet Jennings, both of Ivesdale; Ellen Barrett of Monticello.
He was preceded by his father and one sister.

Dorothy was born Sept. 12, 1932, in Decatur, the daughter of Edgar L. and Doris Coffey Adams. She was employed by Illinois Bell in Decatur until 1967 when she moved to Florida and completed 40 years of service as an operator before retiring from Southern Bell. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Surviving are her stepsister, Shirley Cross and her husband Tom; nephew, Michael Cross and his wife Barbara of Schaumburg; two great-nephews; one great-niece; several cousins, including Frank Godsey and wife Frances of Dalton City; and special friend, Judy Power of Groveland, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Juanita Adams.

Mrs. Benge was born May 5, 1919, in Macon County, the daughter of Frank and Lena Jostes Phillips. She was formerly an operator for the Telephone Office in Macon. She was a member of Macon Presbyterian Church. She married Thomas Benge on Oct. 3, 1943, in Decatur.
Surviving are her husband of Macon; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, one great-grandniece and one great-grandnephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Merle Phillips and Raymond Phillips; sister, Dorothy Powell.

DECATUR -- Charles W. "Bill" Claypool, 68, of Decatur died 8:25 a.m. Thursday (March 6, 2003) in his residence.

Bill was born Sept. 24, 1934, in Clark County, the son of Joseph and Stella Thompson Claypool. He was a retired and very dedicated member of Laborers Local 159. He was a strong supporter of the Democratic Party. His passions in life were restoring vehicles, auctions and watching his grandchildren grow.
Surviving are his wife, Lyda "Tootie" Claypool of Decatur; sons, Charles "Bud" Claypool and wife Lori of Decatur; Mike Auton and wife Pam of Mount Zion; Larry Auton and wife Shelly; Rodger Auton and wife Karen of Decatur; Steve Auton and wife Perri of Antelope, Calif.; daughters, Debra Paslay and husband Dan of Mount Zion; Dawn Watts of Decatur; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Powers Claypool and wife Judy of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, one son, one daughter and one grandson.
