BROWNSTOWN -- James T. Lemaster, 70, Louisa, Ky., wife formerly of Brownstown, retired Kraft Foods truck driver, died Friday (March 7, 2003).

Graveside services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Old Loogootee Cemetery, Loogootee. Arrangements by: Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown. Memorials: Community Hospice, Ashland, Ky.

Member: United Baptist Church. Survivors: daughter, Pamela Mae Shannon, Louisa; sisters, Fannie Williams, Ashland; Lillie Attaway, Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Preceded by: parents, wife, Margaret, one son.

McDaniel

STONINGTON -- Minnie K. McDaniel, 93, of Stonington died 11:20 a.m. Friday (March 7, 2003) in her home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Old Stonington Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joel W. Lohr officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. in Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery.

Mrs. McDaniel was born Sept. 13, 1909, in Brownstown, the daughter of Ward and Gertrude Turner Miller. She was a retired homemaker and a member of Old Stonington Baptist Church and ABW Old Stonington Baptist Church. She married Robert Hancock, then George McDaniel.

Surviving are her son, Larry and wife Pat McDaniel of Fort Worth, Texas; daughters, Beulah Argo and Marguerite Hendricks, both of Taylorville; Pat and husband Buck McVey of Assumption; Barbara and husband Bob Halford of Oldetown, Fla.; brother, Howard Miller of Centralia; sisters, Velma Hancock of Taylorville; Mary Lentz of Donaldson; Lola Schultz of Caseyville; Grace McCracken of Springfield; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; sons, Stanley and Leslie Hancock.

Meador

VERNON -- Charleen Meador, 81, Vernon, died Friday (March 7, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia.

Nantkes

NOKOMIS -- Esther P. Nantkes, 97, Orlando, Fla., formerly of Nokomis, retired school teacher, died Wednesday (March 5, 2003).

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial: Nokomis Cemetery.

Survivors: son, Donell, Orlando. Preceded by: parents, husband, one sibling.

VANDALIA -- Burt Powell, 89, Vandalia, formerly of Brownstown, died Saturday (March 8, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown.

Riley

PANA -- Kevin Eugene Riley, 30, Pana, died Saturday (March 8, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana.

Romine

TUSCOLA -- Ned B. Romine, 85, of Tuscola died 12:25 p.m. Friday (March 7, 2003) in the Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola, with the Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until services Monday. Burial will be in Cartwright Cemetery, Tuscola. Memorials: Zion United Church of Christ, Arthur.

Mr. Romine was born June 1, 1917, in Tuscola, the son of Lawrence Foster and Anna Eva Brian Romine. He married Lois Harder on May 31, 1947, in Louisville, Ky. She preceded him in death Jan. 21, 1993. He married Mary Helen Collins Clausen on Feb. 26, 1994. She preceded him in death March 23, 1996.

Mr. Romine was the youngest of five children. He was raised on a farm five miles west of Tuscola. He graduated from Tuscola High School in 1935. He was a sergeant in the Army during World War II. He was retired from farming, having farmed in Garrett Township for 35 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tuscola, where he served as a deacon and elder. After his marriage to Mary Helen Clausen, he became a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Arthur. He was a member of the Tuscola Masonic Lodge 332, AF & AM, the Springfield Consistory and Ansar Shrine Temple, Springfield. He was a life member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge 729. He was a member of the Douglas County Farm Bureau. He was a former board member and chairman of the Production Credit Association.

Surviving are his stepdaughter, Katherine Drake and husband Larry of Tuscola; two stepgrandchildren; two great-stepgreat grandchildren; nieces, Jo Ann Kennedy Karrenburg of Long Beach, Calif.; Patricia Ann Brindle of Auburn, Ind.; nephew, Lawrence Richard Romine of Bedford, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Romine; sisters, Carmoleta Kennedy; Lenore Riggs; Amy Henderson.

Russell

OLNEY -- Hazel I. Russell, 86, Olney, died Friday (March 7, 2003).

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Monday, Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo. No visitation. Arrangements by: Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney.

FLORA -- Cecil Guy Schell, infant, Henderson, Ky., parents formerly of Flora, died Wednesday (March 5, 2003).

NOKOMIS -- Audrey Siebert, 73, Nokomis, retired waitress, died Wednesday (March 5, 2003).

Graveside services: 10 a.m. Monday, Rosemond Grove. No visitation.

Survivors: daughters, Terry Smith and Debbie Hadras, both of Nokokis; sisters, Roberta McAfee, Rosamond; Evelyn Barnstable, Esther Klaus and Shirley Boland, all of Nokomis; stepbrother, Anthony Stauder, Nokomis. Preceded by: parents, three husbands, one sister; one stepsister; one stepbrother.

Tucker

WITT -- Inez Tucker, 87, Witt, house painter, died Saturday (March 8, 2003).

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial: Witt Cemetery.

DECATUR -- Dorothy Jane Adams, 70, Clermont, Fla., formerly of Decatur, died Thursday (March 6, 2003).

Cunningham

DECATUR -- Wilmoth Crowe Smith Cunningham, 92, of Jackson, Tenn., formerly of Decatur, died Friday (March 7, 2003) in Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lloyd Mealer officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Mrs. Cunningham was born Dec. 1, 1910, in Mansfield, the daughter of the late George Robert and Georgia Allen Crowe. She attended Brown's Business College and upon graduation accepted a teaching position for the next four years. She later was employed with the Lexington Kentucky Blue Grass Army Depot and retired with 20 years of service. She first married Harlan Joseph Smith, who preceded her in death in March 1951. She then married Lloyd Cunningham in July 1957.

Surviving are her husband; sons, Bill Smith of Jackson; George Bryon Smith of Decatur; daughter, Mitzi Smith Parker of Decatur; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; sisters, Blanche Crowe Gowler, Marcella Crowe Singer; brothers, Murrel Crowe and Jack Allen Crowe.

Finks

DECATUR -- Alfred R. Finks, 85, Decatur, retired from Caterpillar Inc., died Saturday (March 8, 2003).

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Lockart & Sons Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Survivors: sons, Lonnie Finks, Chicago; Julius Leon Finks, Toledo; Alfred Eugene Finks, Morris; Russell Finks, Lakewood; David Michael Finks, Albany, N.Y.; daughters, Marjorie Starwalt, Hidalgo; Janet Stephens, Herrick; Judith Ann Froelich, Decatur; Donna Jean Mowell, Mattoon; several grandchildren. Preceded by: parents; wife, Geraldine; son in infancy; one brother.

Oxley

WARRENSBURG -- Harriett Lelia Oxley, 84, of Warrensburg died 3:37 p.m. Thursday (March 6, 2003) in Lincoln Manor.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery. Memorials: Crones Foundation or donor's choice.

Mrs. Oxley was born June 24, 1918, in Macon County, the daughter of John E. Marshall and Adelaide Gilman Marshall. She was a teller and supervisor for 43 years at Millikin National Bank. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and AARP. She married Jack Oxley in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1969.

Surviving are her sister, Marian Oliver of Harristown; brother, Eugene Marshall and wife Shirley of Warrensburg; nieces, Gloria Reece and husband Tom of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Patricia Slenn and husband Walter of St. Charles; Nancy Boland and husband Charles of Oakley; Sheila Patterson and husband Ronald of Niantic; Betsy Reinstorf and husband James of Harristown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Brandon

ARGENTA -- Ruby L. Brandon, 74, Argenta, died Sunday (March 9, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta.

DECATUR -- Janet Lee Hullinger, 63, Decatur, homemaker, died Friday (March 7, 2003).
