Imboden

DECATUR -- Edward Ponting Imboden Jr., 81, of Decatur passed away Saturday (March 29, 2003) in his home.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Macon County Honor Guard.

Edward was born April 22, 1921, in Decatur, to the late Edward P. Imboden Sr. and Mary Blanche Davis Imboden. He served in the Army with the 609th Armored Ordnance Battalion during World War II and was employed with Wagner Castings Co. for 28 years. He was a 20-year member of the Macon County Honor Guard, a member of First United Methodist Church and a life member of American Legion Post 105 and VFW Post 99. He was a member of Elks Lodge 401, and his nephew, Larry Grabb, shared the same interests of antique cars with his "Uncle Eddie." His family and friends remember Eddie always putting the needs of others before his own. Eddie lived on the Imboden family farm. As an adult, he built the new family home in South Shores. He lived in the neighborhood he knew from the 1920s until his death. He married Dorothy Grabb in February 1948 in Decatur.

Surviving are his daughter, M. Jill Sobottka and husband Frank of Eagle River, Alaska; son, Edward Doug Imboden of Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, John G. Imboden II.

He was an expert auto mechanic, a loving father and a beloved husband. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Glasscock

DECATUR -- George M. Glasscock, 50, Wausau, Wis., formerly of Decatur, dentist, died Sunday (March 30, 2003).

Memorial services: 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau. Visitation: 4 p.m. until services.

Air Force veteran. Member: WDA and ADA. Survivors: wife, Teresa; parents, David and Mary Glasscock, Florida; daughters, Allison Oja-Haus, St. Paul, Minn.; Rachel Oja, Orlando, Fla.; brother, David Glasscock, Denver, Colo.; sister, Vickie Ehrmann, Denver. Preceded by: grandparents and one brother.

Duckworth

DECATUR -- Russell Larry Duckworth, 65, of Decatur died 3:30 p.m. Monday (March 31, 2003) in his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Kent officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Millikin University Scholarship Fund.

Russell was born Aug. 26, 1937, in Garrett, Ind., the son of Russell Sherman and Jesse Matteson Duckworth. Russell served in the Army, stationed in Japan from 1955 to 1958. He was employed by Rand McNally Printing in Decatur before owning and operating Franklin Fastprint for 20 years. Russell was currently employed by Bachrach Clothing Corp. office. He married Jean Ann Evans on Sept. 2, 1960, in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife; daughter, Jacqueline McQuality of Forsyth; sons, James of Decatur; Jeffrey and wife Rita of Fairview Heights; grandsons, Mitchell and Sean Duckworth of Decatur; granddaughters, Brittany McQuality of Forsyth; Jacoby Duckworth of Fairview Heights; sister, Rosalee Duckworth of Cerro Gordo; brother, Burton and wife Susie of Milwaukee, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lamb

DECATUR -- Annie Margaret Blackwelder Lamb, 82, of Pueblo, Colo., formerly of Decatur, died 11:50 a.m. Friday (March 28, 2003).

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home with visitation one hour before services. Memorials: Central Christian Church, Pueblo, or donor's choice.

Mrs. Lamb was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Fort Mill, S.C., the daughter of Charlie Miller and Dovie Roberta Harris Blackwelder. She was a bookkeeper and receptionist for Roby & Roby Real Estate. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Decatur, Shriners Ladies, Daughters of the Nile, Ruhamah Temple 71 and Central Christian Church of Pueblo. She married Cecil M. Lamb on Jan. 11, 1941. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are her son, John G. Lamb of Pueblo; daughter, Ruth Anne Pearce and husband William of Pueblo; brother, C.M. Blackwelder and wife Sarah of Fort Mill; sister, Nancy Triyon of Pueblo; half brothers, John B. Blackwelder and wife Alice of Fort Mill; James O. Blackwelder and wife Louise of Wingate, N.C.; Paul W. Blackwelder and wife Joyce of Fort Mill; special niece, Cathie Lamb Hamilton and husband Julius of Rockhill, S.C.; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

McKeown

DECATUR -- John Henry McKeown, 84, of Decatur passed away Monday (March 31, 2003) in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Nie Funeral Home Inc., Ann Arbor, Mich., is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Millikin University.

John was born on Christmas, Dec. 25, 1918, in Jacksonville, the son of William and Edistina McKeown. He moved to Decatur at an early age and remained a lifelong resident. John achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Millikin University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. John also served his country as a major in the Marines during World War II. He was rotarian and past president of the Rotary Club, a member of the Decatur Club and Country Club of Decatur. He was an owner of Swain and Myers Sales Co. in Decatur and most recently a stockbroker. John was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur, where he was an elder and deacon.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret; children, John Randolph (Elaine) and Margaret (Patrick) Shaul; grandchildren, John Doake McKeown, Karen Nicole McKeown, Sarah Lynne Shaul and Scott Connell McKeown; three sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Romans

DECATUR -- Barbara J. Romans, 72, of Decatur died 12:40 a.m. Sunday (March 30, 2003) in McKinley Court.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Memorials: McKinley Court.

Barbara was born May 25, 1930, in Heyworth, the daughter of Glenn P. and Mary Lou Wilson. She was a homemaker. She married Walton Romans on April 2, 1950. He preceded her in death April 15, 1991.

She leaves her six children, Gary W. Romans and wife Patty of York, Neb.; Val C. Romans and wife Cindy of Baytown, Texas; Jeff G. Romans and wife Mary of Springfield, Mo.; Barbara "Lindy" Warren and husband Kenny of White Pigeon, Mich.; Lori A. Romans of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Barbara, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, confidante and mentor slipped gracefully to the other side. She was an amazing woman who found beauty in the world around her and took delight in simple pleasures. Kind, generous and talented, we never lacked for someone to turn to when in need of encouragement, conversation or companionship. Each life she touched was made richer. Rest well, Mom. The hard part is over.

Rubin

DECATUR -- Beulah Fern Haynes Rubin, 77, of Decatur passed away Sunday (March 30, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home and one hour before services in Miller Funeral Home.

Beulah was born Aug. 28, 1925, the daughter of James A. and Maud M. Sumption Haynes. She attended Central Baptist Church and was a volunteer at Good Samaritans. She was a retired housekeeper for St. Mary's Hospital.

She was the beloved mother of Carolyn Greve of Beardstown; Connie Golladay and husband Kevin of Decatur; Pam Vadenburg and husband Harvey of Stafford, Va.; sister to Dutch Haynes and wife Betty of Vandalia; Cecil Haynes and wife Jo Ann of Clearwater, Fla.; grandmother of eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and two grandsons.

She will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her.

Brown

DECATUR -- Cortnee A. Brown, 20, Decatur, died Friday (March 28, 2003).

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation: one hour before services in the church. Burial: North Fork Cemetery. Arrangements by: Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service Inc. Memorials: Victims of Violent Crime or Webster Cantrell Hall.

Hart

OAKLEY -- Herbert Hart, 41, Oakley, died Tuesday (April 1, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes.

Jividen

DECATUR -- Owen W. Jividen, 86, Sebring, Fla., formerly of Decatur, died Friday (March 28, 2003).

Private family services. Arrangements by: Morris Funeral Chapel, Sebring.

Spoonamore

DECATUR -- Charles Curtis Spoonamore, 65, of Decatur died 3:30 a.m. Tuesday (April 1, 2003) in his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield. Memorials: Shepherds Baptist Ministries, 1805 15th Ave., Union Grove, WI 53182-1597.

Charles was born June 28, 1937, in Springfield, the son of Taylor and Winnifred Smith Spoonamore. He served in the Army from 1960 to 1962 and was a member of the Army Band. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, Barbershoppers and Central Illinois Adjusters Association for many years. He was a claims manager with Federal Kemper Insurance for 29 years. He married Willa Dowis on Aug. 16, 1958, in Springfield.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Brian Charles Spoonamore of Jacksonville; Douglas Andrew Spoonamore and wife Shannon of Clermont, Fla.; brother, John Spoonamore and wife Janet of Bartlett, Tenn.; sisters, Martha Schmelz of Springfield; Betty Sellers of Chicago; Mary Catherine Theobald and husband Duane of Springfield; Shirley Jiardina of Kincaid.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert, missing in action in World War II.
