CLINTON -- Brandon David Basden, infant son of Shane Basden and Amy Ard of Clinton, died 10:30 p.m. Tuesday (April 29, 2003) in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Private family services will be Monday with the Rev. Marsha Frederick officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Bement Township Cemetery. Roux-Hinds Funeral Home, Bement, is in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are his parents; brother, Daniel Bartley of Clinton; grandparents, Steve Ard of Bement; Janet Tharp of Clinton; Yvonne Basden of Decatur; great-grandparents, Jay and Ann Ard of Bement; Stella Henry of Clinton.

Berg

LOVINGTON -- Galin Eugene and Sebastain Kirk Berg, infant twin sons of Shanna Leach and Benjamin Berg, died Thursday (May 1, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.

ROBINSON -- Norma Rebecca Bollinger-Plant, 85, Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Robinson, died Tuesday (April 29, 2003).

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Oak Grove Cemetery, Palestine. Memorials: Coronary Care Unit, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson.

SHELBYVILLE -- Helen Buelah Boorom, 82, Shelbyville, formerly of Mattoon, nurse's aide, died Thursday (May 1, 2003).

Graveside services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Mattoon. No visitation. Arrangements by: Schilling Funeral Home, Mattoon.

CLINTON -- Roy A. Campbell, 91, Clinton, died Thursday (May 1, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton.

CERRO GORDO -- Emily Lorene Oliver, 87, Cerro Gordo, died Thursday (May 1, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo.

OLNEY -- Gail L. Lathrop, 78, Olney, died Wednesday (April 30, 2003).

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, First Presbyterian Church, Olney. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney. Burial: Crest Haven Cemetery, Claremont, with military rites. Memorials: First Presbyterian Church.

ROBINSON -- Tom Obst, 79, Robinson, retired pipefitter, died Tuesday (April 29, 2003).

Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Lady of Lourdes Church, Oblong. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, with 5 p.m. prayer service. Burial: Robinson New Cemetery. Memorials: St. Elizabeth Catholic Church Building Fund, Robinson.

Poff

NOBLE -- Nora A. Poff, 96, Noble, died Thursday (May 1, 2003).

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Noble. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Greenhill Cemetery, Noble.

Porter

NEWMAN -- Marcus A. Porter, 79, of Newman died 4:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 30, 2003) in his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Hume United Methodist Church with the Rev. Erin Weatherspoon officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Newman. Joines Funeral Home, Newman, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Hume United Methodist Church.

Mr. Porter was born June 17, 1923, in Metcalf, the son of Marcus G. and Dorothy Mitchell Porter. He was a member of Hume United Methodist Church and Hume American Legion. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired farmer in the Hume area. He enjoyed playing tournament checkers. He married Audrey Baxter on Dec. 24, 1949, in Newman United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Edward Porter of Orlando, Fla.; James Porter of Oakland; daughters, Marian Porter of Orlando; Carol Pearson of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Norma Job of Hume; Helen Bundy of Tuscola; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Potsick

MOWEAQUA -- Lois Marie Potsick, 68, of Moweaqua died 12:15 a.m. Thursday (May 1, 2003) in her home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Moweaqua, with Father Angel Sierra officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, with 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana. Memorials: St. Jude Children's Hospital or Moweaqua Public Library.

Marie was born Oct. 18, 1934, in Moweaqua, the daughter of Lyle and Agnes Clark Harbarger. She was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church. She married Joseph Potsick on April 1, 1966, in Moweaqua.

Surviving are her husband; brother, Charles Harbarger and wife Arlene of Assumption; many nieces and nephews, of whom she was very fond.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Duff

BIBLE GROVE -- Clarence Duff, 60, Bible Grove, welder, died Wednesday (April 30, 2003).

Services: 11 a.m. Sunday, Mount Pleasant Mortuary, Harlan, Ky. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Burial: Duff Cemetery, Harlan. Arrangements by: Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora.

Ray

SORENTO -- Howard Ray Jr., 57, Sorento, formerly of Centralia, died Wednesday (April 30, 2003).

Services: 3 p.m. Saturday, Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home, Greenville. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial: Brown Cemetery, Greenville. Memorials: to the family.

Sanders

MATTOON -- Dennis Lee Sanders, 65, of Mattoon passed away 4:40 p.m. Wednesday (April 30, 2003) in his home.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Apostolic Center Church, Mattoon, with the Rev. Derold Doughty officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, Mattoon. Interment will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon. Memorials: Apostolic Center Church.

Dennis was born Dec. 29, 1937, the son of Thomas and Edith Mae Redmon Sanders. He was a devoted member of Apostolic Center Church, where he was former youth leader and member of the men's quartet. He lived to serve his faith. He was retired owner and operator of Sanders Hauling and former employee of Western Union, Brown Shoe Co. and Community Unit 2. He enjoyed passing the time by woodworking and deer hunting and will be remembered for his whistling and harmonica playing. He married Patsy Evonne Packer on Aug. 18, 1956, in Corinth, Miss.

Surviving are his wife; children, Roger Sanders and wife Barbara, Phillip Sanders and wife Georgia, Annette Franklin and husband Brad, Denise Belcher and husband Allen and Julie Miller and husband Michael, all of Mattoon; brothers, Donald of Charleston; Forrest, Leon "Tub" and Robert, all of Mattoon; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Swadener

TUSCOLA -- Ann G. Swadener, 90, of Savoy, formerly of Tuscola, died 11 a.m. Thursday (May 1, 2003) in Windsors of Savoy.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Joines Funeral Home, Newman, with the Rev. Clyde Snyder officiating. Visitation will be two hours before services. Burial will be in Albin Cemetery, Newman. Memorials: Tuscola United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Swadener was born Nov. 22, 1912, in Decatur, the daughter of Clark and Rosa Anderson White. She was a member of Tuscola United Methodist Church, past member of Tuscola Home Extension and member of United Methodist Women. She attended Bradley University in Peoria and worked in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., during World War II. She married Marion Swadener on June 22, 1947, in Homer. He preceded her in death in 1981.

Surviving are her sisters, Martha Lewis and Millie Allen, both of Newman; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister.

Vitali

LANGLEYVILLE -- Marian D. Vitali, 75, of Langleyville died 10:18 p.m. Wednesday (April 30, 2003) in Taylorville.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville, with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville, with 7:30 p.m. wake service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. Memorials: National Alzheimer's Foundation or St. Vincent Memorial Hospice.

Marian was born May 15, 1927, in Taylorville, the daughter of Louis and Ermenia Gassia Menichetti. She was a retired ASCS office secretary and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Clinton Indiana Bocci Ball Hall of Fame. She married Silvio Vitali on May 12, 1947, in Taylorville.

Surviving are her husband; daughter, Dr. Connie Vitali, MD, and husband Dr. Mark Bradel, DDS, of South Beloit; son, Dr. Albert Vitali, DVM, and wife Kathy of Gainsville, Ga.; grandchild, Joseph Bradel of South Beloit; sister, Flora VanMeter of Temple City, Calif.; sister-in-law, Bertha Menichetti of Taylorville; brother-in-law, John DeMichiel of Taylorville; friends, Carolyn and George Cloe and their children.

She was preceded by her parents; brothers, Oliver and Alex Menichetti; and sisters, Eva DeMichiel and Olga Feco.

Watson

ALTAMONT -- Donna Watson, 69, Altamont, died Thursday (May 1, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont.

Webb

PANA -- Barbara Webb, 67, Pana, Pastime Club owner/ operator, died Wednesday (April 30, 2003).

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Mound Cemetery, Pana.
