Evelyn E. Narten of Lisle
A short memorial service for Evelyn E. Narten, will be held at 3 p.m. today, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, Route 53 and Short Street, Lisle.
Mrs. Narten died peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999.
She was the wife of Edwin C. Narten; mother of Susan Karian; and grandmother of Stephen and the late Michael.
She will be remembered by family, friends and caring neighbors.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Harry B. Nyberg of Batavia
Memorial services for Harry B. Nyberg, 84, of The Holmstad in Batavia, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 30, at The Holmstad's Ahlstrand Chapel, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia. Rev. Donna Nelson and Rev. Ronald Magnuson will officiate.
Born May 10, 1914, in Chicago, the son of Karl B. and Hilma (nee Carlson) Nyberg, he passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at the Michealsen Health Care Center in Batavia. Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Three Oaks, Mich.
Mr. Nyberg worked for 40 years for US Steel until his retirement in 1975.
He was a 51-year Master Mason of the Masonic Boulevard (AF & AM) Lodge #882 in Evergreen Park and amember of the Harbert Community Covenant Church in Harbert, Mich. He enjoyed travels to Sweden, gardening and sports. He was a resident of The Holmstad Retirement Community for 15 years, and will be missed by his many friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Maynette A. Nyberg; son, H. Bruce Nyberg of St. Joseph, Mich.; daughter, Sandy (Dr. Leon) Sherburn of Berrien Springs, Mich.; grandchildren, Lars, Amelia and Rebekah Sherburn; cousin, Raymond Nyberg of Oak Lawn; and numerous cousins in Sweden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cousin, Ralph Nyberg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Princeton Covenant Children's Home, 502 Elm Place, Princeton, IL 61356 or Harbert Community Covenant Church, 6344 Harbert Rd., P. O. Box 197, Harbert, MI 49115-0197.

Daniel P. O'Shea, 69, of Carol Stream, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999. Arrangements were made by Gibbons Funeral Home, Elmhurst, (630) 832-0018.

Cornelius O'Shea of Arlington Heights
Services for Cornelius O'Shea, 91, a native of Newmarket, County Cork, Ireland, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.
Born June 10, 1907, in Ireland, he died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mr. O'Shea was a retired supervisor for the Chicago Transit Authority and was a member of Local 241.
Survivors include his son, Michael (Marti); daughter, Ellen (Douglas) Closs; grandchildren, Michael (Jean Marie), Keith, Brian and Dawn (Tom) Suarez; and sisters, Lucille (John) Herlihy, Kathleen and Peg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen O'Shea (nee Hanley); sisters, Ann, Nell, Eva and Mary; and brother, Charles O. C. S. O.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Eva A. Palmer of Round Lake Beach
Funeral services for Eva A. Palmer, 86, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25510 W. 134, Long Lake, Ill.
Born Nov. 5, 1912, in Sweden, she passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Winchester House in Libertyville. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Friends of the family may visit at the church Monday from 6 to 9 p.m., with Eastern Star Rites being conducted at 8 p.m.
Arrangements were made by Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake.

Annetta M. E. Parkinson, 95, of Carol Stream, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999. Arrangements were made by BrustFuneral Home, Lombard, (630) 510-0044.

Darlene M. Patterson formerly of Round Lake Beach
Memorial services for Darlene M. Patterson (nee Stock), 56, most recently of Colonial Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Princeton, Ill., will be held at 11 a.m. today, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.
Charles Haley and Pr. Phil Mehel of the Christian Assembly of God will officiate.
Born Dec. 17, 1942, in Chicago, to William and Dorothy (nee Gaspar) Stock, she went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Colonial Hall, after battling breast cancer. Cremation was accorded and a private interment will take place at a later date.
Darlene had made her first home in Cicero, later moving to the Willowbrook/Westmont area, and finally settling in the Lake County area. Shewas a 1977 graduate of the College of Lake County and worked in social service with the Crisis Connection Hotline prior to her falling ill in 1997. She also volunteered her time both for PADS and as a swim coach for handicapped children, and also helped in the pharmacy at Midwestern Hospital in Zion. She was a member of the Christian Assemblyof God, where she assisted in the library and was a newsletter editor for the Compassionate Friends. She was also a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association.
Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Stock of Darien; son, David P. (Karen) Henrikson; granddaughter, Elizabeth Joy of Wyanet, Ill.; sister, LaVerne (William) Klinksiek of Virginia; and nephew, John (Lauren) Miller of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Stock, in 1994; and son, John C. McCullagh, in 1988.
There will be no visitation.

Joanne Perez (nee Senatore), 55, of Wood Dale, died Thursday, Jan. 21. Arrangements were made by The Oaks Funeral Home, Itasca, (630) 250-8588.

Vera Hughes Fehrman Perry of Harvard
Family and friends of Vera Hughes Fehrman Perry (`Grandma Prairie'), 100, will meet Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at McHenry County Memorial Park Chapel, Woodstock, for an 11 a.m. memorial service. Reader Jane Setzler will officiate.
Born May 24, 1898, in Woodstock, the daughter of Earl C. and Mary (nee Wiedrick), Hughes, she died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Harvard Hometown Care Center. Graveside services will be held in McHenry County Memorial Park.
Mrs. Perry was a lifelong member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Woodstock. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Seneca Grange and McHenry County Teachers Retirement Association. She taught school for 42 years in the county and was awarded `Outstanding Retired Teacher of the Year' in 1988. She was a native historian with articles published in the Northwest Herald in 1988 titled `Echoes Across the Prairie.' On June 25, 1924, she married Walter G. H. Fehrman. They made their home on the family farm on Hughes Road in Hartland Township. She married Stanley Perry from Evansville, Wis., in 1962.
She is survived by daughters, Vergene Fehrman (James) Wilson of Woodstock, Mary Fehrman (George) Kiefer and Irene Fehrman Kayser of Green Valley, Ariz.; grandchildren, Steven Henry of Albuquerque, N. M., Dena Czarnecki of Woodstock, Douglas (Michelle) Kiefer of Harvard and Lisa (Keith) Teuber of Sharon, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Scott and Jennifer Henry of Alburquerque, N. M., Jennifer and Walter Czarnecki of Woodstock, Nicholas (Sheila) Roberts of Belvidere, Gretchen Roberts of Harvard, April and Kyle Rivera of Sharon, Wis. and Ryan Schiller, also of Sharon, Wis.; and great-great-grandchild, Brandon Roberts of Belvidere.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; sister, Mary (Irving) Eppel; brother, Earl M. Hughes; and granddaughter, Pamela Henry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Harvard Hometown Care Center or the First Church of Christ Scientist, Woodstock.

Eugene I. Peterson of Round Lake
Services for Eugene I. Peterson, 67, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Ltd, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake. Elizabeth Tsang, chaplain at Provena St. Therese Medical Center, will officiate.
Born Oct. 5, 1931, in Chicago, he passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in Avon Centre Cemetery, Grayslake, following the services.
Mr. Peterson had made his home in Round Lake for the past 49 years. A veteran, he had served during the Korean War. He had retired in 1992 from CHF Industries in Grayslake, where he was employed in custom cabinetry.
He leaves his brother, Vergne Peterson of Florida; and dear friends, Robert (Christina) Novak and family of Neosho, Mo., Kim (Edward) Clingerman of Round Lake Beach, Jim Walsh of Mundelein, Ted Lechowicz of Chicago, Rich (Crystal) Reid and family of Grayslake, Carlo (Santina) Moreci and family of Round Lake, Pam Hensmann and family of McHenry, Bill (Sharon) Williams of Oklahoma, Bill F. Williams Jr. and family of Seneca, Mo., Jason Williams and family of Neosho, and Ann Millerand family of Lake Villa.
Friends of the family may visit from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral chapel.

Marie A. Reid of Woodstock
A funeral Mass for Marie A. Reid (nee Troller), 74, formerly of Lake in the Hills, will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 176 Oak St., Crystal Lake.
Born Dec. 7, 1924, she died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
Mrs. Reid was a retired registered nurse and director of nursing for various nursing homes in the community.
Survivors include her daughters, MariKay (Joseph) Molnar of Marengo, Jennifer (William) Thompson of North Aurora and Jean Marie A. Reid of Springfield; and six grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, George R. (the late Peg) Troller of Neptune Beach, Fla., Ralph (Henrietta) Troller of Dyer, Ind., and Thomas (June) Troller of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Jean (Raymond) Pecor of Lockport, Ill.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:30 Monday, at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church or to Catholic Charities.

Nellie M. Ritcheson of Elgin
Services for Nellie M. Ritcheson, 94, will be held at 4 p.m. today, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin.
The Rev. Titus Soloman will officiate.
Born July 20, 1904, in McLeansboro, Ill., to Harvey and Amy White Ritcheson, she died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Pineview Care Center, St. Charles.
Graveside services will be held in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, McLeansboro.
Miss Ritcheson had been a resident of Elgin for most of her life and was employed by the Elgin National Watch Company for 45 years before retiring.
Survivors include her niece, Ella Mae (James) Farmer of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; great-nieces, Cindy Farmer of Elgin and Karen Woodburn of Batavia; and great-nephew, Bruce Farmer of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and one brother.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 4 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Gloria J. Schueman of Schaumburg
Mass for Gloria J. Schueman (nee Gillie), 69, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Marcelline Church, Schaumburg.
Born Jan. 3, 1930, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at her home in Schaumburg. Burial will be in Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.
Ms. Schueman was a manager for International Market.
She is survived by her sons, Scott (Theresa) Cesar and Kenneth (Jeanine) Schueman; daughters, Janice (James) Skerski and Deborah (Cary) Dudczak; brother, Raymond Gillie; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Martin Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Road, Roselle.
