BUSH -- Jimmie Dale Judd, 38, died at 4 p. m., July 22, 2003 in Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Walker Funeral Home in Hurst, with the Rev. Naomi Carter officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Bush Auxillary, Route 1, De Soto, IL 62924. Mr. Judd was a former security guard. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a NASCAR fan. He was born on June 9, 1965, in Herrin to Jim Judd and Linda Prather. Survivors include his mother and father, Linda and Chuck Halley of Herrin; father, Jim Judd of De Soto and stepmother, Janice; lifetime companion, Norma Rich Kerley of Bush; maternal grandmother, Muriel Prather of Herrin; his children, Gretchen Kerley of Bush and J. R. Kerley, Justin and Tausha Kerley, and Angel Messick, all of Hurst; grandchildren, Billy and Victoria Kerley and Chloe Messick; two brothers, Scott Judd of Herrin and Charlie Judd or De Soto; two sisters, Charlotte Anderson of Herrin and Jamie Halstead of Hurst; a stepsister, Robin Beers of Thompsonville; nieces and nephews; his special aunt, Bessie Perryman; and special friend Jimmy Eldridge. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lizzie and John Judd; his grandfather, Romal Prather; and a stepsister, Krystal Halley.

Guyla Moreland
MOUNDS -- Guyla W. Moreland, 95, died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, in Daystar Care Center in Cairo. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Barkett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kelly Cox officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Dollie Hunter
MARION -- Dollie Hunter, 84, died at 2:42 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, at home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, at the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, with the Rev. Larry Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Becker Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Dollie was born on June 30, 1919, in Williamson County, the daughter of Clarence and Mylinda "May" (Comer) Rogers. She married Warner "Slim" Hunter on Sept. 3, 1936. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1986. Dollie was a homemaker and a member of the Liberty 6 Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Bob Frye of Johnston City, Patricia and Larry Milligan of Johnston City, and Nancy and Ted Edds of Marion; two grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa and James Nicholson of Marion, and Todd and Robin Dunning of Marion; one great-grandchild, Lezlie Nicholson; a brother-in-law, James Warden Hunter of Herrin; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Hunter of Johnston City; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful and caring neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Hughy, Ed, Louie, Charlie, and Garland Rogers, one sister, Lottie Mae Rogers, and one grandson, Michael Fyre.

Kevin Wayne Summers
WEST FRANKFORT -- Kevin Wayne Summers, 44, died at 6:20 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Parker-Reedy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Melton Nelms officiating. Burial will be in Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Billy Ray Hilliard
MARION -- Billy Ray Hilliard, 66, died at 10:28 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, in Fountain Nursing Home. Arrangements are incomplete at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.

Luella Henley
ROYALTON -- Luella Maurine Henley, 93, of Royalton and formerly of Cambria, died Friday, July 25, 2003, in Herrin Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Riggin-Pillatsch Funeral Home in Carterville, with the Rev. R. H. Chitwood officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Cambria First Apostolic Church.

Robert Schmitz
PRAIRIE DU ROCHER -- Robert J. Schmitz, 87, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, in Red Bud Regional Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, with the Rev. Albert Kreher officiating. Burial with military rites will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, with a prayer service 5 p.m. Sunday in Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud. Memorials may be made to masses or donor's choice.

Dorma Flowers
MOUNT VERNON -- Dorma Flowers, 89, died at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003 in Heritage Park Care Center in Dade City, Fla. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Oakwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Ken Dean officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.

WEST FRANKFORT -- Walter "Whitey" Koczorowski, 79, died at 12:07 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2003 in Carbondale Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete at Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort.

MARION -- Monta Claire Robertson, 84, died at 2 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, in Fountains Nursing Home in Marion. Arrangements are incomplete at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home in Marion.

Harmon Ray Fisher
DU QUOIN -- Harmon Ray Fisher, 74, died at 2:19 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, in Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, with the Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin, with military rites by VFW Post 513. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life.

Charles I. 'Chuck' Goodwin
MARION -- Charles I. "Chuck" Goodwin, 67, of Sun City Grand, Ariz., passed away at 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in the Veterans Affairs Nursing Care Center of Marion. He was born in Winthrop, Mass., on July 13, 1936, the son of Royal and Katherine Marie McClosky Goodwin. Charles answered the call of this nation by enlisting in the United States Air Force and was assigned with the Strategic Air Command 98th Bomber Wing during the Korean Conflict. He and his flight crew were shot down during combat and he was taken as a Prisoner of War. Charles was finally released as a POW and was later discharged after faithfully serving his four years of service with the rank of Staff Sergeant. His working career was with Brucker Company of Chicago as an HVAC Engineer. He was later given the task of opening the branch office of Brucker in Peoria, and his position there was Information Systems Administrator. Charles finally retired after 32 years of service in May of 2000. Chuck, as he was known by, was united in marriage to Sue Reese on June 19, 1976, in Marion. Together they have enjoyed the last 27 years. His church membership was with Prince of Peace Catholic Church of Sun City West, Ariz. Charles always became involved in the area where he resided. While living in Miami, Fla., he served as president of the Jaycees. When he lived in Central Illinois, he served as president of the Square Dance Club of Morton. He also served as a volunteer policeman for Peoria County, and more recently after his move to Arizona, served as captain of the Bocce Ball Team. Some of his other interests included woodworking of which he was an expert craftsman, dancing, golfing and listening to the music of big bands. He was always active and would do the best that he possibly could at whatever he did. He is survived by his wife, Sue, who was formerly of Marion, but now resides in Sun City Grand, Ariz.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Bruce Fisher of Carterville and Linda and Brian Trusty of Joliet; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tom and Carol Goodwin of Peoria, Allen and Lisa Goodwin of Decatur and Raymond Goodwin of Decatur; four grandchildren, Andy Freeman and Courtney, Ashley and Blake Goodwin; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Mike Manning of Pembrook, N. H.; other family members and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Lou Newton, and brother, Thomas Goodwin. Service for Charles I. "Chuck" Goodwin will be held at 10 a. m., Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, located at 316 W. Monroe St., Herrin, with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. The committal service and burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery of Marion. military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Heyde-Pillow Post 1301 of Marion. The time of visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today in Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, located at 900 N. Court St., Marion. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Barrows Neurological Foundation of Phoenix Ariz., and may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, P. O. Box 370, Marion, IL 62959.

Dollie Hunter
MARION -- Dollie Hunter, 84, died at 2:42 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, at home. Arrangements are incomplete at Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City.

Kathy Reeves
COBDEN -- Kathy Ann Flamms Reeves, 51 of Selah, Wash., formerly of Cobden, died at 8:30 p. m., July 22, 2003, at Oregon Health Science University Hospital in Portland, Ore. She was born Jan. 17, 1952, in Anna, the daughter of Edwin A. And Mary Clutts Flamm. She married John Thomas Reeves Aug. 29, 1970. He survives. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden and St. Paul's Cathedral in Yakima, Wash. Kathy graduated from Cobden High School in 1970. While in high school she was a member of the Beta Club, the Honor Society and was the president of the marching band for two years. She was interested in all athletics and was the captain of the cheerleading squad. She was on the newspaper staff, belonged to chorus, FHA and was voted best-dressed. She was the Cobden Peach Festival Queen in 1969. After high school she completed three years of college and was an administrative secretary for several hospitals as she and "Tom" traveled and completed their educations and entered the workforce. She was a devoted wife, mother and daughter, as she raised her family and lived to see Amanda marry and Julia graduate from high school. She and Tom have been sweethearts since 5th grade. Her hobbies included antiquing, camping, traveling short trips and enjoyed cooking for family dinners. She was a regular blood donor and hospital volunteer. Kathy fought cancer for seven years. The family has peace in that she fought the fight as well as possible and all was done on her behalf and by her family that was entirely possible. She is survived by her husband John Thomas Reeves of Selah, Wash.; two children, Amanda Renae and husband Jason Perraul of Selah, Wash., and Julia Aylene Reeves also of Selah, Wash.; two grandchildren, Mikaela Reeves and Joshua Perrault; two brothers, Larry E. Flamm and Alan J. Flamm both of Cobden; other relatives and many friends. Services for Mrs. Kathy Flamm Reeves will be held at 10 a. m., Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden with Father Jim Dougherty officiating. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Cobden. Friends may call at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 4 p. m., Monday, July 28, 2003. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Oregon Health Science University Hospital, or a donation of blood be given to the American Red Cross in Kathy's memory. Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden is in charge of the arrangements.
