KARNAK -- Doris Cline, 71, of Paducah, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, in Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Arrangements are incomplete at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.

Casey Moore
MACEDONIA -- Casey M. Moore, 69, died at 1:44 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, in Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Ten Mile Baptist Church in McLeansboro, with the Rev. Richard Hart, the Rev. Geoffrey Bond and the Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will be in Ten Mile Cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Ten Mile Baptist Church Building Fund.

Joseph Congiardo
CHESTER -- Joseph Anthony Congiardo, 79, died at 7:55 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, in Chester Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester, with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 7:30 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Welge- Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester or Knights of Columbus 3790 in Chester.

Louie Grammer
MARION -- Louie Earl Grammer, 54, died at 8:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, in St. John's Breech Medical Center in Lebanon, Mo. Arrangements are incomplete at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.

Michael Tyler Crabtree
WEST FRANKFORT -- Michael Tyler Crabtree, 17, of West Frankfort, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2003, in West Frankfort. He was born April 28, 1986, in West Frankfort, to Michael and Susan (Lee) Crabtree. He is survived by his parents of West Frankfort; one brother, Timothy Crabtree at home; his maternal grandparents, John and Linda Lee of West Frankfort and his paternal grandparents, Larry and Bonnie Crabtree of West Frankfort and by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Tyler was a Junior at Frankfort Community High School and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in West Frankfort. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at the Calvary Baptist Church in West Frankfort, with the Rev. Lloyd Whittaker and the Rev. Brett Beasley officiating. Burial will be in the Denning Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday to the Calvary Baptist Church in West Frankfort. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Calvary Baptist Church. Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort is in charge of arrangements.

Alex M. Moore
WEST FRANKFORT -- Alex M. Moore, 43, of West Frankfort, died Aug. 23, 2003, in his home. He was born March 28, 1960, in Herrin to Roy Antonini and Anna (Moore) Antonini. He was married to Carol Moore, and she survives, of Herrin. Also surviving are his mother, Anna Sheridan of West Frankfort; two daughters, Amber Moore of Benton and Alayna Moore of Du Quoin; two grandchildren, Billy Joe Moore of West Frankfort and Gwendolyn Whitt of Benton; his father, Roy Antonini of Dowell and an aunt and uncle, Ramona and Roscoe Melvin of Carlsbad, N. M. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alecia Moore. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in West Frankfort, and was a self-employed engine mechanic. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, in Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with the Rev. Barbara Gardner and the Rev. Wayne Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Thompsonville. Friends may visit after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort.

Leo Harry Gosnell
HERRIN -- Leo Harry Gosnell, 80, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, in his home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, in Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin, with the Revs. Don Colson and Ralph Brandon officiating. Interment will be in Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois Inc., 1110 N. Johnson St., Marion, IL 62959-1665, and will be accepted at the funeral home. Leo was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Herrin, to Harry Gosnell and Mona Watson Pierce. Leo was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He proudly served our great nation with the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles and parachuted into France the night before D-Day. He was at Bastogne for the Battle of the Bulge and at the end of the war, Leo was at Berchtesgaden, Germany, also known as Hitler's Eagle's Nest. Leo was a member of the barbershop quartet and enjoyed collecting guns and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Bill Drake of Herrin; one niece, Sharon and Steve Carr of Bloomington; one great-nephew, Stephen and Michelle Drake-Carr of Montana; two great-great-nieces, Avery and Caroline of Montana; one aunt, Fern Stineman of Salem; and many cousins and friends. Leo leaves two hunting dogs, Spunky and Whimpy, and one special cousin and caregiver, Bruce Gosnell and his wife Paula, who stayed with Leo to the end. Leo is preceded in death by his parents, one aunt, Cielcle Long, and stepmother, Laura Hartwell Gosnell. Leo made his profession of faith several weeks ago and is now with our beloved savior.

Louise R. Hodge
METROPOLIS -- Louise R. Hodge, 86, of Metropolis and formerly of McClure, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in Metropolis Rehab Center. Louise was born Aug. 22, 1917, the daughter of A. R. and Ola Cleaver Rogers. She was a beautician and operated a shop in McClure for many years. She also worked for many years as a cook on a river boat. She married Howard Hodge in 1975. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1997. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter and one brother, Leroy Rogers. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross in Metropolis. Survivors include her mother-in-law, Mildred Hodge of Metropolis; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Annie Blaylock, Jean and Marshall Moss, all of Anna, Leoda Watkins of Ware, Wilma Colyer of McClure and Doris and Kenny Jobe of Virginia; one brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Lea Rogers of Sun City, Ariz.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lester and Rosalie Barger of Metropolis; many nieces, nephews and friends, including Bo and Buffy. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, in Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. David Deem officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lourdes Hospital. Hileman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn M. Fedderke
MURPHYSBORO -- Evelyn M. Fedderke, 68, of Murphysboro, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at her residence in Murphysboro. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at Pettett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ted Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery at Steeleville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family to be used for the future education of Evelyn's grandchildren. She was born on Nov. 6, 1934, in Randolph County, to William Andrew Faverty and Edith Victoria (Ninness) Faverty. Evelyn had worked as a restaurant cook, she had worked in the bakery at Boren's IGA in Carbondale and had also been a cook at the Immanuel Lutheran School. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro and a member of the V. F. W. Ladies Auxiliary at Chester. She married William Bill Fedderke on July 22, 1956, in Chester, and he survives. Other survivors include their daughter, Cynthia Talley of Murphysboro; six grandchildren, Brad Short, Sammie Short, Stephanie Short, Jeff Talley, Tony Talley and Nick Talley, all of Murphysboro; one sister, Iva Ann Brockmeyer and her husband Irvin Brockmeyer of Sparta, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Leemon, Curtis and Daniel Faverty; one sister, Neva Faverty and her parents.

PINCKNEYVILLE -- Beulah Zoller, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, in Collinsville Care Center. Arrangements are incomplete at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home.

JONESBORO -- Mary Elizabeth Varnum, 87, died at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, in Jonesboro Healthcare Center. Arrangements are incomplete at Pyatt-Harrawood and Epplin Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Kathryn Richardson
GRAND CHAIN -- Kathryn Reichert Richardson, 87, died at 12:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in Southgate Care Center in Metropolis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Catherine Church, with Monsignor Bill McGhee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jane Schultz
WEST FRANKFORT -- Jane Ellen Schultz, 44, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Larry Lemay officiating. Burial will be in Tower Heights Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at Stone Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church.

Marcel Bruyere
BENTON -- Marcel "Gene" Bruyere, 54, died at 8:03 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Wolf Prairie Cemetery in Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Michael Sheets officiating. There will be no visitation. Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is in charge of arrangements.
