Violet May Poynter of Des Plaines
Services for Violet May Poynter (nee Baker), 87, will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday, at G. L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines.
Born Jan. 12, 1912, in Logansport, Ind., she died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at home.
Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
A 30-year resident of Des Plaines and a homemaker, she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She was the wife of 64 years of the late Russell M.; mother of Billy Joe (Geneva) Poynter, Russell LeRoy (Darlene) Poynter and Delores Jean Poynter; grandmother of six; and great-grandmother of 10.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
Memorials to the American Diabetes. Association, are appreciated.

Laury J. Rautenberg of Wheaton/Carol Stream
Services for Laury J. Rautenberg (nee Bovee), 39, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 144 N. Prince Crossing Rd., West Chicago. Please meet at the church.
Born March 18, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, she died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of the Wheaton and Carol Stream area, she was a 1977 graduate of Wheaton Warrenville High School and a 1981 graduate of Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind. Mrs. Rautenberg was also an interior designer for Tom's Price Furniture Store in Wheaton.
She was the beloved wife of Robert; loving mother of Bryan, Jeffrey and Lauren; devoted daughter of Betty Jean and the late Robert Bovee; fond sister of Deborah (Robert) Hansen and Suzanne (Carl) Gullang; dear daughter-inlaw of Marlene and Fred Rautenberg; and dear sister-in-lawof Nancy (Larry) Breen and Thomas (Maria) Rautenberg.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, at Williams Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd. (one block east of Naperville Rd.), Wheaton.

Joan C. Regner of South Barrington
Services for Joan C. Regner (nee Scanlan), 69, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.
Born June 14, 1929, she died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Mrs. Regner had been a resident of the area for 40 years and was a member of the Palatine Township Republican Women's Club.
Surviving are her husband, David J. Regner of South Barrington; son, David M. (Donna J.) Regner of Schaumburg; and grandchildren, Jennifer and David.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Marie A. Reid of Woodstock
A funeral Mass for Marie A. Reid (nee Troller), 74, formerly of Lake in the Hills, will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 176 Oak St., Crystal Lake.
Born Dec. 7, 1924, she died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
Mrs. Reid was a retired registered nurse and director of nursing for various nursing homes in the community.
Survivors include her daughters, MariKay (Joseph) Molnar of Marengo, Jennifer (William) Thompson of North Aurora and JeanMarie A. Reid of Springfield; and six grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, George R. (the late Peg) Troller of Neptune Beach, Fla., Ralph (Henrietta) Troller of Dyer, Ind., and Thomas (June) Troller of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Jean (Raymond) Pecor of Lockport, Ill.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:30 Monday, at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church or to Catholic Charities.

Fred W. Royce of Wayne Township
Funeral services for Fred W. Royce, 77, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St. (Route 64), St. Charles. Rev. Steve Miller will officiate.
Born April 4, 1921, in Cody, Wyo., the son of George and Stella Royce, he died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Burial will be in North Cemetery, St. Charles.
During World War II, Mr. Royce served in the Army. Fred was employed for 42 years as a tool and die maker for Applied Components, formerly Hawley Productsin St. Charles. Fred was an avid fisherman and loved to work in his garden.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Vivian; daughters, Jan Johnsen of Genoa, Ill. and Marlene (Carl) Klingner of Wayne Township; son, Ron Royce of Batavia; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters; and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Maynard L. Saxby of Island Lake
A home going celebration for Maynard L. Saxby, 64, will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, at Lake Zurich Community Church, 23286 N. Quentin Rd., Lake Zurich.
Born Sept. 19, 1934, in Litchfield, Ill., he died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in Island Lake. Private interment will be for family only.
An elder and lay-pastor of Lake Zurich Community Church, he was a member of Gideons International, N. E. A. and a PromiseKeeper.
He was the husband of Kay; father of Kevin (Mei-Ching) of Alaska, Tamara (Robert) Zimmerman of Lake Zurich, Kathy (Dominick) Ascone of Macomb, Debra (Daniel) Berg of Antioch and Keri (Christoper) Rohde of Island Lake; brother of Norma Jean (William) Howe of East Alton; and grandfather of Jasmine and Nathan Saxby, Jason and Jennifer Hansen, Shaina, Claire and Alexis Ascone, Josiah, Attalyssa and Mariah Berg, and Makenzie and Regan Rohde.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of home going celebration Tuesday, at the church.

Gloria J. Schueman of Schaumburg
A funeral Mass for Gloria J. Schueman (nee Gillie), 69, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Marcelline Church, Schaumburg.
Born Jan. 3, 1930, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at home.
Burial will be in Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.
Manager at International Market, she was themother of Scott (Theresa) Cesar, Kenneth (Jeanine) Schueman, Janice (James) Skerski and Deborah (Cary) Dudczak; sister of Raymond Gillie; and grandmother of six.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Martin FuneralHome, 333 S. Roselle Rd., Roselle.

Luther F. Stanzel formerly of Rolling Meadows
Services for Luther F. Stanzel will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Aurora Community Church in Aurora.
He passed away peacefully in Sacramento, Calif., Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at the age of 78.
Luther was loved for his humor, kindness and free spirit, and he was very special to his children. Luther was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Dec. 30, 1920. He graduated from Ohio State University and served as a pilot in the Navy. He married Marilyn Schuster in 1950, and together they had three daughters, Holly Dyer, and Laurel and Lynn Stanzel.
In 1965, the family relocated to Rolling Meadows and Luther made a career in marketing with Clow Corporation until retiring. He spent his last years in Sacramento enjoying his motorcyle, gardeningand reading.
He is survived by his daughters, Holly Dyer and Lynn Stanzel; and was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, and daughter, Laurel.

LaVon Storch of Naperville
Private services will be held for LaVon Storch (nee Schlup), age 82.
Born Oct. 21, 1916, in Decatur, Ind., Mrs. Storch died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at ManorCare Health Services in Naperville.
A Naperville resident since 1996, she was a longtime resident of Fostoria, Ohio from 1965 to 1996, Hillsdale, Mich. from 1955 to 1965 and Fort Wayne, Ind. until 1955.
Survivors include her son, Robert M. (Susan nee Bragalone) Storch of Basking Ridge, N. J.; and grandchildren, Alex and Anna Storch of Basking Ridge.
She was preceded in death byher husband, Robert W. Storch in 1996.

Hildegard Elizabeth Webster of Palatine
In loving memory of our mother and grandmother, Hildegard Elizabeth Webster, who passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, a memorial service will be held in San Francisco, Calif.
She was born May 12, 1914, in Hotenleben, Germany. A resident of Palatine for 19years, she was a member of TOPS, the Willow Creek Senior Citizens, and the Rolling Meadows Rolling Senior Citizens.
She was the beloved mother of Orland (Marcia) Webster and Carolyn Funk of Palatine; cherished grandmother of Kerry (Peter) Howard, Kristy (James) Lunardelli and Wendy Webster; and great-grandmother of Ashley, Jessica and Jimmy Lunardelli, and Justin, Bridgette and Peter Howard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orland Webster; parents, Henry Fricke and Emma Chandler; and brothers, John H. and O. Fred (Helen) Fricke.
We said our goodbyes to a very special and vivacious lady who will always be remembered in our hearts.

Edith Bryant
Graveside services for Edith Bryant, 73, of Tulsa, Okla., will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at River Valley Memorial Gardens.
Born in Wheatcroft, Ky., to Dan and Henrietta (nee Skinner) Smith, she died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at St. John's Hospital in Oklahoma.
Surviving are her son, Charles Bryant of Oklahoma; daughter, Glennia Lindell of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Arrangements were made by Madison Funeral Home, Elgin.
