Edward Lannon

CHESTER -- Edward J. Lannon, 80, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Memorial Hospital in Chester. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, with the Rev. Eugene Wojcik officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the Schroeder-McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester. Memorials may be made to Masses.

Ruby (Spann) Motsinger

SESSER -- Ruby (Spann) Motsinger, 74, died at 5:01 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, in Davis Funeral Chapel, located at Route 148 and Park Street Road between Sesser and Christopher, with Brother Dan Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Davis Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA-TIP Hospice, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Mrs. Motsinger had retired after many years as a cook. She was a Baptist. She lived in Sesser all her life. She was born on April 16, 1930, in Sesser, to Myrtle L. (Galloway) and Luther B. Morris. Survivors include three sons, Warren Spann and friend Tammy Strange of Du Quoin and Wendell and Larry Spann of Sesser; two daughters and one son-in-law, Marsha Wilt and friend Ron Bishop of Sesser and Carmella and Rick Mitter of Hurst; 10 grandchildren, Carla and husband Bobby Neikes of Sesser, Wesley and Jennifer Wilt of Pinckneyville, Brandi Bizaillion of Sesser, Ryan Spann of Benton, Danny Spann of Herrin, Mark Strange of Du Quoin, Rebecca, Jennifer and Caleb Spann, all of Sesser, and Christopher Mitter and friend Sarah Smith of Hurst; five great-grandchildren, with another bundle of joy on the way; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, Maxine and Pete Helmer and Louise and Ruth Garner, all of Sesser. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.

Burnette Campbell

MARION -- Burnette Campbell, 91, of Marion, passed away at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in Heartland Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, in Mitchell- Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with Dr. Joey Brent officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Marion Civic Center Foundation or the First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and may be mailed to P. O. Box 39, Marion, IL 62959. Burnette was born on Sept. 23, 1913, in Marion, to Pearl and Sarah Logan Henderson Deaton. She married Roy Campbell on June 12, 1938, in Paducah. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1983. Mrs. Campbell was the retired co-owner of Stylart Ladies Apparel for more than 60 years. She lived in San Francisco and New York while her husband, Roy, served in World War II. She and Roy traveled worldwide. Burnette loved to play bridge and enjoyed animals, mostly dogs, her entire life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marion and a former member of the Fortnightly, Hospital Auxiliary and the Delta Theta Tau Sorority. Survivors include one son, Joe Campbell of Marion; one daughter, daughter, Cindy (Campbell) Hunt of Marion; one son-in-law, Brad Hunt of Marion; two grandchildren, Logan Hunt and Campbell Hunt, both of Marion; step-grandchildren, Emily Hunt Kincaid and Scott Hunt; one step-great-grandchild, Madelyn Kincaid; one niece, Sue McCoskey of Marion; two great-nephews, Brad and Lorin McCoskey of Boca Raton, Fla., and Jeff McCoskey of Marion; and one great-niece, Cortney McCoskey of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy Campbell, two sisters, Bea Ford and Berniece Thaxton, and a step-granddaughter, Audra Moroni.

Lorn S. Johnson

JONESBORO -- Lorn S. Johnson, 81, of Metropolis, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Southgate Health Care Center in Metropolis. He was born on Jan. 4, 1923, in Cypress, the son of Adam and Dollie (Alexander) Johnson. He married Bertha G. Helm on June 26, 1943, in Caruthersville, Mo. She preceded him in death Feb. 17, 1975. He later married Kathryn Land in 1978, in Jackson, Mo. He worked as a mechanic for Atlas Plastic and was a pastor. He was a member of the Conran Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Johnson of Metropolis; two daughters, Lorna Jackson of New York and Yvette Johnson of Idaho; brother, Clyde Johnson of Leasberg, Mo.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Stanley and Sybil Hurley and two brothers, James and Claude Johnson. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Hileman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Abanathy officiating. Interment will be in Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Bonnie A. Grass-Bauman

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS -- Bonnie A. Grass-Bauman, 83, of Southern Illinois, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in Herrin Hospital. She was born on May 8, 1921, in Buncombe, the daughter of Otis and Mary (Jenkins) White. She married Elmer 'Red' Grass in 1938, in St. Genevieve, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1980. She later married George Bauman in 1981, and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was a retired nurse's assistant from the Kankakee State Hospital. She and Red Grass also owned and operated Anna Sheet Metal Works for many years. She was a volunteer for the Marion Hospital Auxiliary, TIP Home Health in Johnson County and Senior Citizens Center in Marion. She was a member of the Johnson County Home Extension and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Survivors include son, Roger Grass and wife, Pat of Kankakee and their children Jeff and wife, Lorraine Grass, Jamey and wife, Anja Grass and their children Josh and Payton Grass, Amy and husband, Mat Pepin; son, Norman and wife, Judy Grass of Jonesboro and their daughter, Brianna Grass. Bonnie was from a family of 10 children and has one sister surviving, Faye and husband, Junior Pierce of Corning, Ark. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Services will be at noon Monday in Basler Funeral Home in St. Genevieve. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Hileman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ivalee Travelstead

MARION -- Ivalee H. Travelstead, 95, died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Parkway Manor in Marion. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, in Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home of Marion, with Dr. Joey Brent officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with an Eastern Star Service of Remembrance at 5 p. m., conducted by the members of the LeRoy A. Chapter 350 Order of the Eastern Star in Marion.

Anna Mooney

KELL -- Anna Mooney, 92, of Kankakee, formerly of Kell, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Miller Health Center in Kankakee. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Jonathan Schnautz officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Frank Ellingsworth

MOUNT VERNON -- Frank Alfred Ellingsworth, 97, of Mount Vernon, died at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Nature Trail Health Care Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Logan Street Baptist Church, with the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Dahlgren. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in the church. Hughey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William Lamphere

CREAL SPRINGS -- William 'Bill' Lamphere, 75, of Creal Springs, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Cosby-Sloan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eddie Lamphere officiating. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

John Pistono

WEST FRANKFORT -- John Pistono, 95, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, in Westside Care Center in West Frankfort. Arrangements are incomplete at Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort.

Robert Kosman

JOHNSTON CITY -- Robert Kosman, 70, of Johnston City, died at 11:40 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, in Herrin Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete at Murman and Wilson Funeral Home.

Fornie Bagwell

ZEIGLER -- Fornie B. Bagwell, 89, of Zeigler, died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Fornie was born on Oct. 28, 1915, in Ragland, Ala., to Otis Lester 'Buster' and Babe (Campbell) Bagwell. He married Doris Estelle Jones on Nov. 14, 1937, in Zeigler. She preceded him in death on Jan. 21, 2001. He is survived by one daughter, Leuna P. Bagwell of Zeigler; one son and daughter-in-law, Howard F. and Judy Bagwell of Duluth, Ga.; three grandchildren, Kevin and wife Marvette Bagwell of Port Orange, Fla., and Mark and wife Connie Bagwell and Melanie Bagwell, all of Duluth; three great-grandchildren, Mandi, Kelley and Mark Bagwell Jr., all of Duluth; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joan and Dale Rhodes of Zeigler, Rosemary and Wade Moorman of Tolono and Ruth Jones of Jupiter, Fla., and one brother and sister-in-law, Ernest Ray and Bobbi Bagwell of Norfolk, Va. His parents; four brothers, Dean, Ralph, John and Jeffry Bagwell; and three infant siblings also preceded him in death. Mr. Bagwell was a member and trustee of the First Baptist Church in Zeigler. He was a coal miner who last worked for the Old Ben No. 21 Mine in Sesser and retired in 1978. He was a member of the UMWA local union. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Zeigler American Legion, Patrick McClellan Post 177. He was well known for his woodworking skills. Services for Mr. Bagwell will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, in the First Baptist Church in Zeigler, with the Rev. Clinton Woodfin officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy, with graveside military rites by the Zeigler American Legion. Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Bagwell may be made to the Zeigler First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church or may be mailed to the church at 106 S. Pine St., Zeigler, IL 62999.
