Violet May Poynter of Des Plaines
Services for Violet May Poynter (nee Baker), 87, will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday, at G. L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines.
Born Jan. 12, 1912, in Logansport, Ind., she died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at home.
Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
A 30-year resident of Des Plaines and a homemaker, she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She was the wife of 64 years of the late Russell M.; mother of Billy Joe (Geneva) Poynter, Russell LeRoy (Darlene) Poynter and Delores Jean Poynter; grandmother of six; and great-grandmother of 10.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Laury J. Rautenberg of Wheaton/Carol Stream
Services for Laury J. Rautenberg (nee Bovee), 39, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 144 N. Prince Crossing Rd., West Chicago. Please meet at the church.
Born March 18, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, she died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of the Wheaton and Carol Stream area, she was a 1977 graduate of Wheaton Warrenville High School and a 1981 graduate of Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind. Mrs. Rautenberg was also an interior designer for Tom's Price Furniture Store in Wheaton.
She was the beloved wife of Robert; loving mother of Bryan, Jeffrey and Lauren; devoted daughter of Betty Jean and the late Robert Bovee; fond sister of Deborah (Robert) Hansen and Suzanne (Carl) Gullang; dear daughter-inlaw of Marlene and Fred Rautenberg; and dear sister-in-lawof Nancy (Larry) Breen and Thomas (Maria) Rautenberg.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday, at Williams Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd. (one block east of Naperville Rd.), Wheaton.

Joan C. Regner of South Barrington
Services for Joan C. Regner (nee Scanlan), 69, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.
Born June 14, 1929, she died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Mrs. Regner had been a resident of the area for 40 years and was a member of the Palatine Township Republican Women's Club.
Surviving are her husband, David J. Regner of South Barrington; son, David M. (Donna J.) Regner of Schaumburg; and grandchildren, Jennifer and David.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Rita-Jo Rivituso of Hoffman Estates
Services for Rita-Jo Rivituso (nee Waugh) will begin with prayersat 9 a.m. Wednesday, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road), Roselle, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at Church of the Holy Spirit.
Mrs. Rivituso died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
She was the beloved wife for 39 years of Felix P. Rivituso; devoted mother of Joseph Rivituso, Mary Glick, Anna (Jim) Murphy, Phillip Rivituso and Nancy (John) Galgano; loving daughter of the late John and Evelyn Waugh; dear sister of Maureen (Bob) Morrison, Eileen (Mike) Nudd, Sheila (Dave) Paravich, Mary Ward, Patrick Waugh, Timothy (Sharon) Waugh, Michael (Jody) Waugh, Jonathan Waugh and the late John and Christopher Waugh; and proud grandmother of Daniel, Anthony, Sarah, Marco and Carmen.
Rita loved her family and friends very much and she will be missed dearly by all of them.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral chapel.

Fred W. Royce of Wayne Township
Funeral services for Fred W. Royce, 77, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St. (Route 64), St. Charles. Rev. Steve Miller will officiate.
Born April 4, 1921, in Cody, Wyo., the son of George and Stella Royce, he died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Burial will be in North Cemetery, St. Charles.
During World War II, Mr. Royce served in the Army. Fred was employed for 42 years as a tool and die maker for Applied Components, formerly Hawley Products, in St. Charles. Fred was an avid fisherman and loved to work in his garden.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Vivian; daughters, Jan Johnsen of Genoa, Ill. and Marlene (Carl) Klingner of Wayne Township; son, Ron Royce of Batavia; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters; and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 9a.m. until the time of services Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Rose M. Schindlbeck of Batavia
Services for Rose M. Schindlbeck, 76, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia.
Born Nov. 18, 1922, in Chicago, to Edward and Rose (nee Budka) Fertig, she passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at Delnor-Community Hospital, Batavia. Interment will be in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia.
Mrs. Schindlbeck was a member of Holy Cross Church of Batavia, the Batavia VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1197, the Elburn American Legion Auxiliary Post 630, and the Fox Valley Dog Club.
She had worked at Furnas Electric for nearly 25 years when she retired in 1989. She was also a noted cook. Rose will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jacob J. Schindlbeck, to whom she was united in marriage Sept. 28, 1943, in Chicago; daughters, Georgianna (Jerry) Zakosek of Virgil Township and Rebecca Davis of Jonesboro, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Nelson of Florida; sons, Edward (Brenda) Schindlbeck of Geneva, Jeffrey (Sandy) Schindlbeck of Batavia and Tim (Nancy) Schindlbeck of Lisle; 27 grandchildren; and threegreat-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother, Benjamin `Budd' (Frances) Fertig of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jacob J. Schindlbeck Jr.; brothers, John and Howard Fertig; and sister, Evelyn Drinkwater.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Edmund W. Scholer of Elgin
Funeral services for Edmund W. Scholer, 95, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Evangelical Covenant Church, with the Rev. Herbert Hedstrom officiating.
Born Feb. 14, 1903, in Ontarioville, Ill., the son of Emil and Caroline Scholer, he passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Sherman Hospital. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Ed was educated in the local school system, and attended Metropolitan Business College in Elgin. He also studied corporate tax laws at Roosevelt College in Chicago. He began his banking career on Aug. 19, 1921 at the First National Bank of Elgin, and retired as senior vice president in 1968. For many years he served on the Elgin Zoning Board of Appeals, and he had been on the advisory board of the Salvation Army since 1947. He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Elgin, a former member of the Elgin Council of Churches and the Elgin Council of Christian Education.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by hisparents; stepfather, August Anderson; wife, Margaret, in 1978, whom he married Sept. 15, 1928; brothers, Fred and Emil; and sisters, Emma Schartow, Elsie Thies, Anna Timm and Caroline Martens.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the church.
Memorials may be made to the church or the Salvation Army.

Louis A. Stasiak of Des Plaines since 1964
Mass for Louis A. Stasiak, 83, will be celebrated at10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Zachary Church.
Born Aug. 25, 1915, in Chicago, he died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Stasiak had been a foreman for MagnaFlux in Harwood Heights (now known as ITW). An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of St.
Zachary's Golden Agers, St. Raymond's Senior Club and St. Emily's Gems.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Regina B. (nee Czeblinski); son, Ralph A. (Betty) Stasiak of Lexington, Ky.; daughter, Christine M. (Richard A.) Weise of Addison; grandchildren, Michael A. (Lisa) and Scott A. (Sherry) Weise, Mary K. (Kory) Lettenberger, and Jeremy M., Renee M., Jason L.
and Justine P. Stasiak; great-grandchildren, Jacob Weise and Kayla and Samantha Lettenberger; sisters, Agnes Stolzman of Arlington Heights and Margaret (Bill) Crennell of Orlando, Fla; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.

Gladys B. Urbanek of Long Grove
A memorial service for Gladys B. Urbanek (nee Barbara), 73, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Long Grove Community Church.
Born Sept. 7, 1925, in Chicago, she lost her courageous, 5 1/2 year battle with ovarian cancer on Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Lake Forest Hospital. Burial will be in Long Grove Community Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Urbanek was a Chicago resident for most of her life, moving to Long Grove in 1969. She was a graduate of Taft High School and worked for the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank for 12 years, including as the executive secretary to the executive vice president, Ernest Harris. She was a former Camp Fire Girl leader and a former member and Sunday school teacher at Edison Park United Methodist Church. Later she was a member and former assistant Sunday school superintendent of Long Grove Community Church. She was also the founder of the Long Grove Pedal Peddlers bicycle group. An avid bowler, Mrs. Urbanek bowled in the Swinging Cats, the Over the Hill Gang and the Long Grove Mixed leagues at Hawthorn Lanes until the week of her death.
Gladys was caring, helpful and kind to all she met and will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends, both here and in Spooner, Wis., where she and her husband, James, owned a summer home and vacationed for 48 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, James Urbanek; and was the dearest mother of Barbara (William) Spigner of Vernon Hills and Susan (Mark) Pinsler of Vernon Hills; and cherished grandmother of Robert and James Spigner, and Eric and Ross Pinsler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore and Susannah Barbara; and her brother, Robert.
Memorials to Long Grove Community Church, Robert Parker Coffin Road, Long Grove, IL 60047, or to the oncology department of Lake Forest Hospital, 600 N. Westmoreland Road, Lake Forest, IL 60045, are appreciated.

Bruce E. Vodicka of Arlington Heights
Services for Bruce E. Vodicka, 55, will begin with prayers at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, and continuewith Mass at 11 a.m., at St. Mary Church, Buffalo Grove.
Born Oct. 12, 1943, in Chicago, he died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Elk Grove Village.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Buffalo Grove.
Mr. Vodicka was an attorney at law and a faculty member of Keller Graduate School of Management. He also served as the chairman of the finance committee for St. Mary's parish in Buffalo Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Vodicka (nee Mueller); daughters, Juliana Marie and Melissa Anne, both of Arlington Heights; mother, Edith Vodicka; sister, Darryl Vodicka; brothers-in-law, Dr. Robert (Margaret) and Dr. George (Karen) Mueller; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Vodicka.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of donor's choice in Mr. Vodicka's name would be appreciated.
