MCLEANSBORO -- Louisa Bond, 80, died at 12:05 a. m. Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. Services will be at 11 a. m. Tuesday at Blooming Grove Baptist Church, near McLeansboro, with the Rev. John Lee and the Rev. Leland Wick officiating. Burial will be in Blooming Grove Cemetery near McLeansboro. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. today at the church. Memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Home or Blooming Grove Baptist Church. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of arrangements.

Valley Eugene Mays

ORIENT -- Valley "Bigfoot" Eugene Mays, 67, passed away at 9:30 a. m. Friday, July 16, 2004, at home. Mr. Mays was born Dec. 31, 1936, in Herrin, to Valley D. and Geneva (Keeler) Mays. He married Justina (Harrod) Mays on Nov. 19, 1994, in Freeman Spur. She survives. Masonic rites will be performed by Herrin's Prairie Lodge 693 at 7 p. m. Sunday.

Bobby Boyer

CARPENTERSVILLE -- Bobby Forrest Boyer, 75, died at 12:50 p. m. Friday, July 16, 2004, in Mcleansboro. Services will be held at 1 p. m. today, July 18, 2004, at the Harre Funeral Home in Mcleansboro, with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be in the Old Cottonwood Cemetery in Ridgeway. Visitation was at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p. m. Saturday, July 17, with a Masonic Service at 7 p. m. Memorials will be accepted for the Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Alice M. Warn

NAPERVILLE -- Alice M. Warn, 77, of Haines City, Fla., died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, due to heart failure. She was born March 6, 1927, in Naperville, to Joseph and Theresa Sagen. She married Albert E. Warn and he preceded her in death Dec. 6, 2003. She moved to Haines City, Fla., from the Crystal Lake area in 1987. Mrs. Warn was a grocery store clerk for Jewel Crocery and Eagle Food Store for 30 years. She attended St. Ann Catholic Church in Haines City, Fla. She was active in the Moose Lodge in Crystal Lake. She was a former member of the Eagles Lodge in Bareboo, Wis. She was also active in many bowling leagues and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Survivors include her sons, Robert A. Warn of Terre Haute, Ind., and Thomas E. Warn of Shawnee, Kan.; daughters, Sandra L. Caby of Cutler, Linda L. Emery of Crystal Lake and Deborah S. Warn of Haines City, Fla.; brothers, Joseph, Edwin, Harold, Donald, and Richard Sagen, all of Naperville; and a sister, Barbara Lederman of Tennessee; and 10 grandchildren. Mrs. Warn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sisters, Kay Coletta and Mickey Bonkowski. Services are at 6:30 p. m. today at the Oak Ridge Funeral Care Center at Haines City, Fla. Visitation was 5 to 7 p. m. Saturday at the funeral home. McDaniel Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of local arrangements.

Herbie Lee Morris

CHRISTOPHER -- Herbie Lee Morris, 57, died at 6:05 a. m. July 17, 2004, at home. Mr. Morris was born Jan. 23, 1947, in Chicago, to Edress Morgan. He married Sharon Young. She survives. He was a retired dispatcher. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Christopher. He was an Army veteran having served three tours in Vietnam. He belonged to the VFW in Du Quoin, the Am Vets in Christopher and the VVNW Post in Du Quoin. Survivors include his wife; his children, Brian and Amy Morris of Benton, and Kevin Morris of Percy; grandchildren, Noah Summers, Deacon and Preston Morris all of Benton, and Jesse Phipps of Carterville; brothers and sisters, William Morgan and Theodore Morgan Jr. of Georgia, and Ella Mae Morgan of Indiana. Services will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with the Rev. David McConnell officiating. Burial will be in the Mulkeytown Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p. m. Monday, July 19, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Theresa Carol McGee

SPILLERTOWN -- Theresa Carol McGee, 45, passed away at 12: 30 p. m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, at home. Mrs. McGee was an administrat- ive assistant and CNA at the Cancer Care Center in Marion for Southern Illinois Healthcare. She also worked PRN at the Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. She was a member of the American Heart Association. She was born Dec. 6, 1958, in Marion, to Charles W. Hill and Shirley (Varner) Hill. Theresa was united in marriage with Frank D. McGee on Dec. 29, 1979, at the Scottsboro Baptist Church in Marion. He survives of Spillertown. Also surviving are, two sons and a daughters-in-law, Christopher (and fianc Miki Kincheloe) McGee of Marion, and Justen and Bonnie Vojvodich of the Lake of Egypt; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirlie and Cleveland Tubbs of Fairbanks, Ark., and Tammi Diaz of Marion; seven grandchildren, Ashley Ward, Payton Crowell, Brittaney Vojvodich, Nicolas Diaz, Nathaneal Diaz, Darius Tubbs, and Christian Vojvodich; father, Charles W. Hill of Herrin; mother, Shirley Hill of Carterville; four brothers, Gene Country Hill of Johnston City, Michael Lynn Hill of Marion, Mike Laverne Hill of Paulton, and Jason Hill of Marion; one sister, Marilyn Zavala of Johnston City; grandmother, Dorothy Jones of Pittsburg; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Gene McGee of Marion; sister-in-law, Pauletta Wiggs of Marion; and a brother-in-law Jeff McGee of Kansas City, Mo. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Cole Ryan Crowell; sister, Crystal Sea Hill-Smith; and a brother-in-law, Jerry McGee. Services will be 1:30 p. m. today, July 18, 2004, at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin, with the Rev. Jerry Schell officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in rural Carbondale. CARRIER MILLS -- Jenell Martin, 89, died at 6:30 a. m. Saturday, July 17, 2004, at home. Services will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Burial will be in the Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Donald C. See

CARBONDALE -- Donald C. See, 72, of Carbondale passed away at 1:44 p. m., Friday, July 16, 2004, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Donald was born Feb. 16, 1932, in New York, to Charles Edward and Florence Nora (Mueller) See. He married Janet Kay Giberson on April 18, 1965, at Carbondale. Survivors include his wife; one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia Nora and Jim Schlindwein of Carterville; two grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary both of Carterville; one brother, Kenneth See of Yonkers, N. Y.; one sister, Lorraine McGuire of Linden, N. J.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Donald was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Carbondale and the American Legion Post 127 of Murphysboro. He served during the Korean conflict with the U. S. Army. Mr. See retired from Tesa Tuck Tape after 48 years of service. He was a supervisor. Donald was an avid reader, having read more than 700 books in his lifetime. He also enjoyed playing poker and he always had a special place in his heart for all God's creatures, especially dogs. A memorial service will be held at a future date. There is no visitation or services scheduled at this time. Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale has assisted the family with arrangements.

CARTERVILLE -- Ann P. Gundrum, 90, died Friday, July 16, 2004, at South East Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Services will be at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carterville, with Father Chris Piasta officiating. Friends may call after 9 a. m. Wednesday morning at the church. MCLEANSBORO -- Maude Williams, 97, died at 11:25 p. m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. Services will be held at 11 a. m. Theresa Carol McGee

Daisy Hellien Browning

MARION -- Daisy Hellien Browning, 98, of Marion, passed away at 2:05 a. m. July 14, 2004, at Fountain Nursing Home in Marion. Private services were held at 10 a. m. Friday, July 16, 2004, at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Blue Funeral Home in Marion was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Browning was born Oct. 14, 1905, in Hardinsburg, Ky., to William Alfred and Mamie (Pate) Hawkins. She married Paul Browning in 1936 in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Browning was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of the American Nurses Association. She loved her cats and her flowers. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Calvin Baker of Marion and Shirley and Mick Riley of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Tim and Tracy Baker, Tina and Vic Pease, Rick and Tracie Blades and Darrin and Dana Blades; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Phillip Redman

MURPHYSBORO -- Phillip Dale Redman, 87, of Murphysboro, passed away at 11:05 p. m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, at the Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County in Murphysboro. His body will be cremated, and burial will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton. There will be no services and Pettett Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society or the Alzheimer's Association. Phillip was born on May 8, 1917, in Clinton, to David Redman and Bessie Fern (Blue) Redman. He had retired as a school custodian in Pinckneyville, but he was known for his wood-craft work in this area. Mr. Redman was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, and a member of the Pinckneyville Lion's Club since 1975. He is survived by his wife, Lula Gertrude Massey, whom he married in 1993; a very special adopted granddaughter, Pam, and one great-grandson, Anthony; 10 stepchildren and their spouses, Mesker and Sara Massey and Robert and Kathy Massey, all of Murphysboro, Tom and Tina Massey of Florida, William and Debbie Massey of Washington, Sidney Massey of Steeleville, Joyce and Roger Treftz of Arizona, Martha and Ken Miller of Oklahoma City, Tina and David Dominick of Georgia, Melissa and Steve Winterberg of Fla., Raymond and Cynthia Massey of Carbondale; 27 step great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Edward Redman; one brother, David Redman; one sister, Lucille Miller, and his parents.

William Frank Hartman

PERCY -- William Frank Hartman, 93, of Percy, died at 2:01 p. m. Tuesday, July 13, 2004, in Oak Grove Nursing Home in Carbondale. Services were at 10 a. m. Friday in Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, with the Rev. Larry Revelle officiating. Burial was in Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation was from 5:30 to 8 p. m. Thursday and 7:30 to 10 a. m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Mr. Hartman was born June 12, 1911, in Steeleville, to William Herman and Frances (Ivans) Hartman. He married Ardath L. Lohrding on Aug. 22, 1931, in Wine Hill, and she passed away Dec. 11, 2003. He was retired from American Device and was previously a coal miner at Moffat Mines in Sparta. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Arkel and Dephane Hartman of Marion and Robert and Erjuana Hartmann of Percy; one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Bill Lively of Percy; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruth Zeidler of Steeleville, Florence Lehnhoff of San Jose, Calif., and Anita Whittier of Independence, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Bud Eastwood

CARBONDALE -- Ralph "Bud" G. Eastwood Jr., passed away at home in peace at 12:37 p. m. Wednesday, July 14, 2004. Bud was born on Jan. 18, 1948, in Carbondale, to Ralph G. and Jeraldine (Lipe) Eastwood. He married Scherrie Humphrey on Jan. 29, 1968. Survivors include his four children, Donya L. Shackleton and fianc, Mike Wright, Kimberla F. Eastwood, Jennifer N. Harris and husband, Mike Harris, and Clint G. Eastwood. Bud's greatest joys in his life were his grandchildren, Stephan Shackleton, Teal Shackleton, Derek Finster, Grace Harris and Grant Harris. Bud is also survived by his sister, Rebecca Russell, her husband, Jack, and their family, and his favorite fishing buddy, "Uncle" Wally Davie of Carbondale. His parents preceded him in death. Since his retirement, Bud loved to paint and fish. He was a plumbing estimator for Weller's, Inc., and later the owner of H and E, Inc. Services will be at 11 a. m. today at Huffman-Harker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes. Association, P. O. Box 146, Carterville, IL 62918. Everyone loved Bud's laugh and quick wit; he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Matthew Fisher

MARION -- Matthew Logan Fisher, son of Don and Ginger Fisher, brother of Katherine Fisher, father of Landon, died Wednesday morning in Rehoboth Beach, Del., peacefully in his sleep of cardiac arrest. Matt was born April 20, 1972, in Cape Girardeau. He graduated with a B. S. in automotive marketing management from Northwood University in Dallas. He recently moved to Delaware, readying a business in Rehoboth Beach. An aunt, Saundra Colley; uncle, Chuck Solbrig; two cousins, Stephanie Solbrig and Brooke Harrell, also survive. Matt was loved by many. Visitation will be today at 5 p. m. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Bi-Polar and Manic Society.

Robert Hilderbrand

TILDEN -- Robert F. Hilderbrand, 89, died at 12:55 p. m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004, Randolph County Care Center in Sparta. Services will be at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday, July 14, 2004, in Tilden City Cemetery, with the Rev. Wilbur M. Franklin Sr., officiating. Burial will be in Tilden City Cemetery. Wilson's Funeral Home in Tilden is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Tilden. Mr. Hilderbrand was member of First Baptist Church and a member of Teamsters Local. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Essex, Mo., son of William and Mary (Tucker) Hilderbrand. He married Bertha B. Rody in July 1960 in Missouri. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2003. Survivors include four daughters, Amy Hilderbrand and Melissa and Danny Smith, all of Marissa, Della Mae Dunn of New Johnsonville, Tenn., and Marilyn Richards of Pinckneyville; one stepdaughter, Linda Nagel of Tilden; four sons, Donald Hilderbrand of Dexter, Mo., Robert S. Hilderbrand Jr., and wife, and William D. Hilderbrand and wife, both of San Antonio, Texas, and Roy Eugene and wife of Gatewood, Mo.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Carolyn Sue Bailey

CARTERVILLE -- Carolyn Sue Bailey, 63, of Carterville, died at 10:40 p. m. Wednesday, July 14, 2004, in Herrin Hospital. Services will be at 10 a. m. today in Blairsville Cemetery, with the Rev. Robbie Chitwood officiating. Mrs. Bailey's wish was to be cremated. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery. Gilbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bailey was born Nov. 18, 1940, to Raymond and Pauline (Hock) Wagoner. She married Floyd R. Bailey and he survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church of Cambria. She always gave all she had to those she loved and set the example on how to live a good, kind and decent life. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Bailey of Herrin; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mike and Theresa Bailey and Scott Bailey, all of Carterville; a brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Wilma Wagoner of Valier; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne and Ron Skilbeck of Springfield, Vicky and Mike Curlee of Alaska and Cindy and Mike Flatt of Mulkeytown; all Bailey brothers- and sisters-in-law; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Her parents and one brother, Herb, preceded her in death.

Eva 'Maxine' Duschl

JONESBORO -- Eva "Maxine" Duschl, 78, of Effingham, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2004, at her daughter's home in Effingham. She was born Feb. 28, 1926, in Wolf Lake, the daughter of Samuel and Della Brothers Boshera. She married Elmer M. Duschl on Oct. 25, 1947, in Marion, Ark. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1964. She was also preceded by her parents; three brothers, Paul, Norman and Louie Boshera and sisters, Jeanette Farris and Geneva Boshera. She worked at Choate Mental Health and Development Center for many years. Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Erwin and fiance Joe Borries of Effingham, Diane and husband, Norman Miller of Effingham, Karen and husband Stephen Borres of DeSoto; sister-in-laws, Phylliss Boshera, Josephine Mueller and Louise Woodard; brother-in-law, Otto Duschl; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a. m. Monday, July 19, in the chapel of Hileman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p. m. Sunday and until the funeral hour Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Alto Pass Cemetery. Memorials may be made to P. A. W. S. Hileman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

TAMAROA -- Idas Mae Horton, 71, of Tamaroa, died at 5:12 p. m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, at home. Services will be at 10 a. m. Monday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with the Rev. C. L. McKinnies and the Rev. Dan McKinnies officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Burial will be in I. O. O. F. Cemetery at Du Quoin. Memorials may be made to Luke Memorial Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Jack Pittman

CHESTER -- Jack L. Pittman, 73, of Hermitage, Tenn., formerly of Chester, passed away at 1 a. m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, at home. Jack was a member of Oakland St. Church in Clarksville, Ark. He was also an Army veteran and a member of the American Legion in Clarksville. He worked as maintenance Engineer at Herbst Shoe Co. (now Munro Shoe Co. ) He was born on Feb. 12, 1931, in Chester, the son of John Irvin and Roxie Elie (Tindall) Pittman. He married Barbara Jean Riddle on Jan. 6, 1951, at the Methodist Church in Chester. He is survived by his step-father, George Layne of Murphysboro; his wife, Barbara Jean Pittman of Hermitage, Tenn.; two sons, Michael Lee and wife Nancy Pittman of Nashville, Tenn., and Ronald Scott and wife Mickie Pittman of Leesville, La.; two sisters, Beverly and husband Delaine Edwards and Sue and Terry Givens both of Murphysboro; and one grandchild, Marshall Lce Pittman. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronald. Services will be at 2 p. m. Sunday, July 18, 2004, at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Rockwood, with the Rev. Frank Vorhees, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Rockwood. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p. m. today, from 7:30 to 11 a. m. Sunday at the Schroeder-McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester, and from noon to time of service Sunday at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Rockwood. Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Disease Association, Pediatric Diabetes. Clinic Vanderbilt Hospital, Hospice or Ebenezer Cemetery.
