Burial will be in Gilbert Cemetery in Ames. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p. m. today and 8 to 9:30 a. m. Thursday in Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud. ELDORADO -- Judy Faye Cunningham, 58, died at 12:10 a. m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, in Ferrell Hospital. Services will be at 1 p. m. today in Colonial Terrace Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. ELDORADO -- Charles W. Baugher Sr., 80, died at 12:24 p. m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, in Harrisburg Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a. m. Friday in Watson Funeral Home, with Dr. Blaine Welker officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p. m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Charles Grimes Sr.

WEST FRANKFORT -- Charles Russell Grimes Sr., 66, of West Frankfort, died at 5:30 p. m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at home. Services will be at 11 a. m. Thursday in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, with the Rev. David German officiating. Burial will be in Williams Chapel Cemetery in Ewing. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p. m. today in the funeral home.

GRANTSBURG -- William R. 'Bill' Arndt Jr., 56, died at 4:57 p. m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, in Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis. Services will be at 11 a. m. Friday in Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Rentfro Cemetery near Ganntown. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Hosea Dean Bradley

MARION -- Hosea Dean Bradley, 87, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at Heartland Regional Hospital in Marion. He was born Oct. 30, 1916, in Johnson County, to Walter Ray and Gertie (Malear) Bradley. He married Verble (Midgett) Bradley in 1939. She preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 1970. He married Edna (Williams) Bradley in 1974. She died in 1985. He married Wilmeeta 'Billie' (Followell) Bradley on June 27, 1987, in West Frankfort. She survives. He was a construction laborer with Local 557 before retiring. He was a proud member of Local 557 for more than 50 years. He attended McKinney Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming and gardening. He also liked to share what he had grown in his garden. He also enjoyed singing while on his tractor. Survivors include his wife, Wilmeeta 'Billie' Bradley of Marion; three sons and daughters-in-law, Everett Eugene and Margaret Bradley of Fitzgerald, Ga., Paul Lavern and Carmen Bradley of Warrenville, and Cecil Ray and Lisa Bradley of Marion; one step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Dennis and Kim Followell of Benton; one step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Brenda and Jerry McClerren of Murphysboro; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Mary Evelyn Bradley and Urel Hansel and Nina Bradley, all of Batavia; and one sister and brother-in-law, Rosalea and Jim Schuman of North Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; one daughter, Dorothy Irene Bradley; one granddaughter, Belinda Bradley; and six sisters, Amanda Mae Siercks, Mavie Peterman, Dimple (Bradley) Cook, Nora Overstreet, Clara Gillespie and Thelma Overstreet. Services will be 11 a. m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Dunford officiating. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery. Bertha May Toney

CHRISTOPHER -- Bertha May Toney, 83, died on Aug. 9, 2004, in Herrin Hospital. Services will be at noon Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004 in Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with Pastor Jeff Wiggs officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery in Buckner. Visitation will be from 10 a. m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 12, at the funeral home. Mrs. Toney was a homemaker. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Christopher. She was also a member of Eastern Star. She was born May 31, 1921, in West City, to Perry and Josephine (Sanders) Armstrong. Her husband, Carles Toney, preceded her in death on Sept. 31, 1979. Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Sue and Larry Martin of West Frankfort, Linda O'Dell of Christopher and Toni Marham of Sarasota; five grandchildren, Toni Martin, Tricia (Martin) Dick, Crystal Overturf, Nancy Bliss and Mark Mabrey; and two great-grandchildren, Tony Martin Jr. and Brandie Martin. Helen Harper

VIENNA -- Helen Harper, 82, passed away at 10:07 a. m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, in the Massac County Memorial Hospital in Metropolis. Helen was born Oct. 12, 1921, in the Taylor community in Johnson County. She was the daughter of John Preston and Velma Love (Harper) Kincannon. Helen was united in marriage to Tod Harper on Dec. 9, 1939, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1991. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Jackie Harper of Vienna and John F. and Liz Harper of Florence, Miss.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Velma Lauderdale of Wolf Lake and Mary Ellen and Richard Stroh of Marion; nine grandchildren and two grandchildren-in-law, Beth Hudson of Wolf Lake, Tim Lauderdale of Wolf Lake, Jerrod and Veronica Harper of Haslet, Texas, Lauren Harper of Florence, Miss., Emily Hofmister of Florence, Miss., Becca Harper of Paducah, Tod and Lindsey Childers of Buncombe, and Nicole Stroh and Daniel Stroh, both of Marion; six great-grandchildren, Nicole Hudson, Jamie Brandon, Clayton and Trenton Childers, and Zachary and Kaitlyn Harper. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Darrell Lauderdale, and a granddaughter, Angie Childers. Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed rug making and quilting and gave many of her handmade rugs and quilts to family friends. She had recently completed and donated quilts to the Methodist Children's Home. Helen was an avid reader and enjoyed writing. She had just recently finished writing her personal autobiography. Helen was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Helen was an active and dedicated member of the Taylor United Methodist Church. She also regularly attended the Pulley's Mill Pentecostal Church. Helen loved the Lord and her Christian service. She served as a Lay Minister and was a former board member for the Eagle House Ministries. Helen had been employed in the Dietary Department of the Vienna Correctional Center. She also served as a Johnson County election judge. Services will be held at 11 a. m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at the Taylor United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Dennis Fager and Alan Milligan officiating. Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p. m. today, Aug. 11, at Bailey Funeral Home. The body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a. m. Thursday at the church. CHRISTOPHER -- Thelma Brauker, 85, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, in the Parkview Care Center in West Frankfort. Services will be 11 a. m. today at the Masonic and IOOF Cemetery in Benton with the Rev. Joe Daniels officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Thelma Brauker was a homemaker. She was born May 12, 1919, in Valier to Andrew F. and Carrie Gertrude (Bennett) Hardell. Survivors include one brother, Roy Hardell of Spencerville, Ind.; and two cousins, Louis Furlow of Mulkeytown and Zola Houston of Tomball, Texas. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Ruth Lee Brown

MURPHYSBORO -- Ruth Lee Brown, 84, of Murphysboro, formerly of Union County, died at 3:30 p. m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004 at her home in Murphysboro. She was born July 10, 1920, the daughter of Harry L. and Cornelia (Balden) Brown. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Murphysboro. She was very active in Senior Citizens in Murphysboro and loved playing bridge with her friends. She was employed at Wal-mart in Murphysboro for more than 18 years. She is survived by her two sons, Ken Whitaker of Murphysboro and Bill Whitaker of Reno, Nev.; eight grandchildren; one brother, James Oakley Brown of Des Moines, Iowa; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Services for Ruth Lee Brown will be held at 11 a. m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Richard Pearce officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p. m. She was born Feb. 3, 1904, in Percy to Joseph and Lena (Sieberg) Willis. She married Vallie Moore in Percy. He died Sept. 20, 1981. Survivors include five daughters, Dorothy Knop of St. Louis, Juanita Ritter of Columbia, Helen Trantham of Cahokia, and Peggy Fulton and Mavis Grimm, both of Percy; two sons, Thomas Moore of Sparta and Bill Moore of Cadiz, Ky.; one sister, Virginia Hornbostel of Columbia; two brothers, Harry Willis of North Dupo and Fred Willis of Cutler; 33 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Mary Bobbish

ROYALTON -- Mary (Replyuk) Bobbish, 89, of Mission, Texas, formerly of Royalton, died at 1:20 a. m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, in the McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas. Mary was born Aug. 28, 1914, in Export, Penn., to Pete and Mary (Toth) Replyuk. She married Michael George Bobbish. He preceded her in death Nov. 22, 1998. Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Campbell of Mission, Texas; four grandchildren, Drew Campbell, Marre Brister, James Milliron and Kriston Echnoz; one brother, John Replyuk of Elmhurst; and three sisters, June Duchild of Elmhurst, Helen Pavone of Melrose Park and Sophie Copley of Niles. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and Ben Replyuk; one sister, Ann Twitty; and one daughter, Juanita Milliron. Mrs. Bobbish was a homemaker. She was a member of the Holy Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Royalton. Services for Mrs. Bobbish will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at the Holy Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Royalton with Father Demetrus Michaelis officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Orthodox Cemetery east of Royalton. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to gather at the church after 9 a. m. on Thursday. Woodrow William Whaley

CHRISTOPHER -- Woodrow William Whaley, 85, of Christopher, died Aug. 10, 2004, at home. He was born Nov. 14, 1918, to William and Isabel (Mann) Whaley. He married Marjorie Lacey on May 15, 1942, and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Ray Raparelli and Susan and Jim Kramer; three grandchildren and two grandchildren-in-law, Kathleen and Tom Gulla, Raymond and Anne Raparelli, and Stephen Raparelli; and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Caroline Gulla. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers. 'Woody' grew up on a farm in southern Illinois and joined the CCC in 1935 during the Great Depression. He served in the U. S. Army in 1942 to 1946. After he was discharged, he worked at the Flintoke Company in Chicago Heights for 45 years and retired in 1983, after which he and Marge moved to Christopher. Woody enjoyed gardening and reading. He was an active member of Christ View Christian Church. He was a kind and gentle man who will be missed. Services will be at 10 a. m. Friday, Aug. 13, at the Christ View Christian Church in Christopher. Burial will be in the Masonic and IOOF Cemetery in Benton. Services are being conducted by the Gilbert Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Christ View Christian Church. Memorials will be accepted at the church.

James Carr

HARRISBURG -- James R. Carr, 91, died 5:29 a. m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at the Hardin County General Hospital. Services will be held at 6 p. m. Thursday at the Trammel Cemetery in Stonefort. There will be no visitation. Felty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret L. Whiteside

VIENNA -- Margaret L. Whiteside, 82, of Vienna, died at 11:23 p. m. Saturday Aug. 7, 2004 at Meadowcrest Hospital in Gretna, La. She was born March 16, 1922, in Wolf Lake, the daughter of Lester Samuel and Ruth Victoria (Boyce) Hess. She married Derrel W. Whiteside on March 26, 1948, in Dongola. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Vienna. She was a veteren of World War II, serving with the U. S. Marine Women's Corps. She was employed at the Clyde L. Choate Mental Health and Development Center in Anna for several years. She is survived by her husband Derrel W. Of Vienna; one son and daughter-in-law, Derrel R. and Janet Whiteside of Thompsonville; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Steven Lay of Ozark; one sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and George Fitch of Anna; and five grandchildren, John Whiteside, Dana Whiteside, Amber Leek, Devyn Lay-Dooley and Nickolas Lay; seven great-grandchildren, Jordon, Nicole and Nathan Dooley, Austin, Taylor, Tyler, and Peyton Leek; several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ray Hess, an infant sister, Mary Ann Hess, and a sister-in-law, Pat Hess. Services for Marget L. Whiteside will be held at 1:30 p. m. today, Aug. 11, 2004, at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Ed Hoke officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 a. m. to 1:30 p. m. today at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Robert 'Bob' Robertson

GRAND TOWER -- Robert 'Bob' Robertson, 69, of Labaca, Texas, died at 3 p. m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at home in Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday, Aug. 14, in the home of his mother, Irene Robertson, in Grand Tower. Interment will be in Labaca, Texas. Bob was retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service. He was also retired from the River after 20 years. He was born Jan. 23, 1938, in St. Louis, to Lorene and Irene Robertson. Survivors include his mother, Irene Robertson; his wife, Annie Robertson; two sons; two daughters; eight brothers; five sisters; and many nieces, aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother. He will be loved and missed.

Edgar Wahlman

PERCY -- Edgar L. Wahlman, 83, died 3: 40 p. m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, in St. Ann's Healthcare Center in Chester. Services will be at 11 a. m. Thursday in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill, with the Rev. Dr. Alan Janneke officiating. Burial will be at the Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville. TAMAROA -- Dean Edie, 82, of Tamaroa, died at 1:48 a. m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, in Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin. Services will be at 10 a. m. Thursday in Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa, with the Rev. Jerry Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Tamaroa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. today in the funeral home.

Loyce J. Livesay

WARE -- Loyce J. Livesay, 75, of Ware, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, in Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 24, 1928, in Grand Tower, the son of John and Helen (Hale) Livesay. He married Mary Lou Copeland on Jan. 20, 1954, in Yazoo City, Miss. Mr. Livesay was a member of Ware Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Ky., where he served during the Korean conflict. He was a radio operator during this time. He continued to be a HAM radio operator, which was one of his many hobbies during the course of his life. He was a member of several local ham radio clubs, including SARA, MARA, SEMO radio club and the ARRL. He was an avid bicycle rider and was featured in an article in the Southeast Missourian supplement 'tby, the best years. 'He was a member of Caroll P. Foster VFW Post No. 3455. For many years he split his time between farming and working as an engineer at Central Illinois Public Service Company in Grand Tower, where he retired after 35 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Sherry Wilson of Wolf Lake; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Lynda Livesay of Witt; one granddaughter, Nikki and husband Toby Stoker of Mattoon; two grandsons, Jacob and Ian Livesay of Witt; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Evelyn Livesay of Jonesboro, Edwin and Barbara Livesay of Wolf Lake, and Keith and Jean Livesay of Ware; one sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Ralph Stroehlein of Cobden; one uncle, Robert 'Bud' and wife Doris Livesay; two aunts, Claire Franklin and Lucille Huston; lifelong friends Waymon and Barbara Belcher; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Lyndsay Livesay. Services will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, Aug. 21, in the chapel of Hileman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Kirby officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Caroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 Anna VFW. Ray Dean Cluck

BENTON -- Ray Dean Cluck, 43, of Benton, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 18, 2004, as a result of an auto accident in Benton. Ray was born July 20, 1961, in Franklin County, the son of the Rev. Ernest Edward and Wanda June (Williams) Cluck. Ray attended the New Life Church of God in Benton. He is survived by his mother, Wanda June Cluck of Benton; one son, Travis D. Cluck of Benton; one daughter, Aria L. Cluck of Benton; one grandson, Alayn Ray Cluck of Benton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Bob Norris of Benton and Nancy and Don Mrogenski of West Frankfort; one brother, Toby Cluck of Benton; one half-sister, Kim Hasten of West Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his father, by one infant son and by his grandparents. Services will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday, Aug. 21, in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, with the Revs. Rod Joplin and Melton Nelms officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton. Juanita Ann Behm

VALIER -- Juanita Ann Behm, 71, of Valier, passed away quietly at home at 10:15 p. m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004. Juanita was born July 7, 1933, in Ames, Iowa, to Raymond and Gladys (Zook) Warren. She was a school teacher before her marriage to John Behm May 24, 1953, in Nevada, Iowa. Juanita and John farmed in Wisconsin for many years and moved to Southern Illinois in 1973. They owned and operated the Zeigler A & W and sold it in the late 1970s. Juanita worked as a cook and waitress for many years in Zeigler, Christopher and Sesser. They retired to their family farm south of Valier. She was very active with the Homemakers Extension and Eastern Starfor 50 years. She was a member of the Valier United Methodist Church and also attended the First Baptist Church ladies group. Juanita leaves behind her husband of 51 years; four sons and a daughter, Douglas Behm of Christopher, Rodney and Gail Behm of Coello, Stanley and Lisa Behm of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Wayne and Michele Behm of Mulkeytown; Wanda and Walter Underwood of Christopher; 11 grandchildren, Drew and Kristi Barka, Joseph and Johnny Dollins, Scotty, Warren, Miranda, Dillon and Nicholas Behm also Jacob and Joshua Underwood; two greatgrandchildren, Ashley and Justin Barka; a brother and sister-in-law, Richardand Shirley Warren of Ames, Iowa; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth andCurtis Paulsen of Rensselaer, Ind., along with hundreds of friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest daughter, Peggy Dollins who also lost her fight with cancer three years ago. Services will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Quick of the Sesser-Valier United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Zeigler Cemetery.
