Mrs. Sehlke was born on Oct. 27, 1919, in Chicago, the daughter of J. Nelson Garfield Harrison and Olivia (Larson) Harrison. She married Willard Sehlke, and he preceded her in death in 1971. She was a retired liquor department manager with Walgreen's and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton. She is survived by one daughter, Pat Cutter of Benton; two sons, Jim Sehlke and Bill Sehlke, both of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister-in-law, Mary Harrison of Warner Robbins, Ga.; and one nephew, Danny Harrison of Warner Robbins. Mrs. Sehlke was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Ivan and Frank Harrison. in Benton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Tuesday at Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born on Feb. 24, 1924, in Ullin, the son of Orville Newton Johnson and Rosa (Hess) Johnson. He married the former Dorothy Kaiser on Sept. 21, 1942, and she survives. He was a retired timber dealer and was ordained minister with the Apostolic Lighthouse International, Inc. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. In addition to his wife Dorothy, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Rosa Lee and Bob Decker of Chester, Virginia and Roy Diamond of Cape Girardeau, and Margaret and Jeff Morris of West Frankfort; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Arnie Jr. and Nancy Johnson of Kentucky, Carl and Merry Johnson and Kenneth Johnson, all of Sanford, N. C. , and David and Sheila Johnson of Logan; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd Johnson of Cobden and Orville Johnson of Tamms; one sister, Nina Creekpaum of Sterling; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Peter Daniel Johnson; one granddaughter, Amy Johnson; three sisters; and two brothers.

James W. 'Jim' Hall
JOHNSTON CITY -- James W. 'Jim' Hall, 84, of Salem, formerly of Johnston City, died at 2:25 a. m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, in Salem Township Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, in Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home, with Scott Baird officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home. There will be a Kiwanis walk-through during the visitation. Mr. Hall was co-owner of Hall's Grocery Store, Restwell Motel and Hall's Service Station. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Salem American Legion, a charter member and past president of Salem Kiwanis, a life member Hixson Fellow of Kiwanis International, and a member of the 69th Veterans Corps. Jim served in the
Army in the South Pacific during World War II as a sergeant. While serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater he was the recipient of the Purple Heart, four Bronze Battle Stars, a Bronze Arrow Head, the American Defense Service Medal, seven overseas service bars, one service stripe and the Good Conduct Medal. He was born on Feb. 18, 1920, in Johnston City, to Robert Earnest and Nellie Mae (Williams) Hall. He married Patricia Ellis on May 26, 1947, in Morganfield, Ky. , and she survives. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hall of Salem; one son, James Robert Hall of Murphysboro; three nephews, James Randall Duncan, Cully Duncan and John Maroney; five nieces, the Rev. Peggy Wood, Lorna VanGorp, Beth Peterson, Terry Maroney and Jody Maroney; one godson, Jim Wehmeyer; and one special cousin, Marilou Zahn. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church.

John was born on Jan. 16, 1914, in Witt, to John and Anna (Stupak) Kisak. He married Anne Toschak on Jan. 25, 1936, in Nokomis. She preceded him in death on Nov. 8, 1999. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Joyce Kisak of Carterville; two grandchildren, Lauren Kisak Duncan and her husband, William, of Hurst and Michael Kisak of Carterville; two great-granddaughters, Andrian and Brianna Duncan; one brother, Steve Kisak of Witt; and one sister, Anne Holmes of Bethalto. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anne; an infant son, Thomas; one sister, Mary Lowe; and one brother, Michael Kisak. John was a retired custodian for Joliet Arch Diocese working at St. Michael's Church in Glendale. He was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carterville. John honorably served his country during World War II in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in Herrin. John was an avid baseball fan who never missed a game on TV, especially those of the Chicago Cubs.

Maurice was born on March 3, 1924, south of Pirates Cove in the Crab Orchard Lake area (Foreville Settlement), to Sherman and Lucy (Hindman) Fozzard. He married Velda McKenzie on Nov. 21, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. He is survived by his beloved wife, Velda; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary Fozzard and Jim and Glenda Fozzard, all of Carterville; his grandchildren and their spouses, Garrett and Jana Fozzard of Crainville, Julie and Tommy Jacobs and Kimberly and Kevin Kramer, all of Nashville, Tenn. , and Jamie and Darin Smith of Covington, Ga.; two step-granddaughters, Melissa Scheibal and Amanda Dolerto; five great-grandchildren, Garrett Wade Fozzard, Carly Ryan and Zachary Thomas Jacobs, Brett Logan Kramer, and Payton Lynn Smith; two step-great-grandchildren, Niko and Noah Scheibal; one sister, Wilma Chew of Cherry Valley, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Fayetta Robinson and Marjorie Hicks, both of Carterville; one brother-in-law and his wife, Bill and Norma McKenzie of Carterville; one cousin, Barney Fozzard of Carterville; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and one special nephew, Tom Fozzard of Carterville. Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Lucy Fozzard, and one brother, Jim Fozzard, who was killed in World War II. He honorably served his country in the U. S. Navy aboard the Cruiser USS Omaha (CL-4), the USS Orion and the USS Collingsworth. Maurice worked as a mechanic and retired after 22 years of service from GTE. He was a born-again Christian and a member of Crainville Baptist Church, where he was baptized in 1951. On Sept. 19, 1981, Maurice was certified as a Lay Minister under the leadership ministry of the Rev. Paul Maitland of Crainville Baptist Church, which is a part of the Great Rivers Region. On Feb. 28, 1982, he was licensed to preach at Crainville Baptist Church. He was ordained to the word of the Gospel Ministry by the Boskydell Baptist Church on March 24, 1983, and served as pastor. He also pastored at Willisville Baptist Church and Sato Baptist Church and filled in for the Bible Baptist Church. Maurice and a friend, who was a song leader from New York, began the Sunday service and Bible study at the Manatee R. V. Park in Palmetto, Fla. He preached and led the Bible study from November through April every year from 1986 until 1992. He was director of the Sunday chapel service, and in the absence of the pastor he was called upon to preach. From November through March of every year from 1992 to 1996, Maurice led the Bible study at the Pioneer R. V. Park in Bowling Green, Fla.

ZEIGLER -- Agnes (Bormann) Lingle, 104, of Florissant, Mo. , formerly of Zeigler, died at 1:55 p. m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, in DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton, Mo. Mrs. Lingle was born on Aug. 6, 1900, in Royalton, to Karl Leopold and Emilie (Ramm) Bormann. She married M. J. 'Shorty' Lingle on June 14, 1925, in Du Quoin. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1952. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Aloma and James Lynch of Florissant; two granddaughters and their husbands, Roxanne and Kevin Smith and Shelley and Jack Gott, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter and son-in-law, Idanell and Bud Harris; two brothers, Edward and Waldemar Bormann; and two sisters, Louise Bormann and Clara Barnes. Mrs. Lingle was a Protestant and attended First Baptist Church in Zeigler. She was a homemaker and worked at Gayer's Dress Factory in Zeigler after her husband's death. Services for Mrs. Lingle will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, in Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler, with Pastor Clifton Lingle officiating. Mr. Arbeiter was a retired custodian and bus driver for Trico School District in Campbell Hill. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill. He was a member of the 3rd Armored Division in the
Army during World War II, having served in France, Belgium and Germany. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 1096 in Campbell Hill. He was born on Feb. 17, 1919, in Gorham, to Fred and Magdalena Heescel Arbeiter. He married Ruth Ann Stegmann on Nov. 17, 1951, in Campbell Hill, and she passed away on Oct. 29, 1991. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary L. and Carl Lampe, and two grandchildren, Brittany Ann and Joy Brianna Lampe, all of Campbell Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers. Memorials may be made to the St. Peter Building Fund.

MARION -- George Junior Morgan, 60, of Marion, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, in Herrin Hospital. George was born on June 19, 1944, in Cobden, to Albert and Bessie (Jones) Morgan. He married Beverly Ann Leach on July 3, 1964, in Pittsburg. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann Morgan of Marion; one son, Robert Dale Morgan, and his fiance, Jennifer, of Herrin; two grandchildren, Richard and Brandy Morgan, both of Ozark; and one brother, Charles Ervin Morgan, of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents. George was a self-employed auto body man as well as a mechanic. He loved to tinker with automobiles and write songs, and he was the Southern Illinois Heavyweight Arm Wrestling Champion in 1982. At his request, he will be cremated and his ashes will be buried at a later date. Riggin-Pillatsch Funeral Home in Carterville is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Lee and Heather Norris of Pittsburg and Jeremy Norris and his fiance, Laura Murphy of Pittsburg; one daughter, Leslie Norris of Pittsburg; one grandson, Brinnen Norris; and his parents, Arthur E. and Eileen Norris of Pittsburg. Mr. Norris worked as a store manager of the West Frankfort Kroger. He had been with the Kroger Corporation since 1989. He was a member of First Apostolic Church in Marion. He loved to sing, play his guitar and spend time with his family and his church family.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Herrin. Earlier in life, she was an instructor at Don Roberts Beauty School in Chicago. She is survived by her beloved husband, Albert 'Bud' Krueger; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jim Sneed of Cleveland, Tenn.; three nieces, Sheila Kay Stansbury of Fort Madison, Iowa, Donna Boyer of Iowa, and Roseanne Camarato of Herrin; and five nephews, Danny Burns of Sikeston, Mo. , Tim Sneed of Cleveland, Tenn. , Bill Smith of Fort Madison, Iowa, Michael Smith of Iowa City, Iowa, and Brian Smith of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and two nephews, Jimmy Cunningham and Randy Camarato. Barbara's hobbies were picking four-leaf clovers and walking her dog, Angel. Barbara was a volunteer for Reach to Recovery, a program of the American Cancer Society. Her special friends were Lucille Woodford of Energy and Joyce Calvert of Herrin.

Jack P. Maddox
ANNA -- Jack P. Maddox, 86, of Anna, died at 12:35 a. m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, in Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born on Jan. 21, 1918, in Anna, the son of William and Lela Wall Maddox. He married Haskell Sally Goodman on May 14, 1938, in Jackson, Mo. , and she preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 1996. One daughter, Carolyn Kay Crooks, also preceded him in death. He has no known survivors. Jack was a veteran of the U. S. Navy in World War II. He was a life member of the Anna Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3455 and a member of the Anna Masonic Lodge No. 520 A. F. and A. M. He was a licensed pilot and a retired retail merchant. He lived at Anna Vista Highrise the last several years until recently becoming a resident of the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Anna. Visitation for Jack P. Maddox will be from 5 to 7 p. m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Masonic rites at 7 p. m. conducted by Lake Creek Masonic Lodge No. 729 of Johnston City. Albert was born on Aug. 12, 1920, in West Frankfort, the son of John and Ursula (Brazitis) Zukosky. He married Gloria Spees on June 4, 1966, in Marion. She preceded him in death on June 6, 1995. Albert was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMW. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy Seabees. He was a member of West Englewood Home Masonic Lodge No. 1074 and Orient American Legion Post No. 1961. He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley Zukosky of Illinois and Jacqueline and Jim Hess of Cambria; one granddaughter, Treva Hess, and other grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Sukoski of Norridge, Helen Zukosky of West Frankfort, and Anna Parreira of Granite City; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sisters, Emily and Josephine Zukosky; and five brothers, Joseph, Walter, John, Edward and Frank Zukosky.
