A native of Chicago, Ken graduated from DePaul University and received his MBA from Roosevelt University.

He worked for more than 13 years climbing the ladder from product manager to vice president of sales and marketing in the Communication Business Systems Division. He became a professor at J. L.
Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, Stuart School of Business, IIT, Keller Graduate School of Management and DePaul University. His students remarked that his wit, wisdom, humor and high energy made him a dynamic mentor. He taught with a sword instead of a pointer.
The door then opened for Ken to become a seminar leader for AMA, and consultant to top corporations such as IBM, Alltech, W. W. Grainger, W. R. Grace, Lucent Technologies, Westfalia Dairy, Ciba Specialty Chemicals and 3M.
In 1997, with more than 30 years of channel management experience, Ken wrote a book entitled, `Managing Channels of Distribution,' distributed through Amacom Books, in which he developed `Ken Rolnicki's Tried and True 11-Step Channel Design Sequence.' Channels ofDistribution is one of the hottest ideas in sales and marketing today.
Ken's WOWS (words of wisdom) and expertisespread both nationally and internationally.
After coming home from a 10-day seminar trail in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, Ken became exhausted and was having trouble breathing. Upon seeking medical attention, he was shocked tolearn he had mesothelioma, a rare cancer associated with asbestos poisoning. After an almost two-year battle and three operations later, Ken died at Lake Forest Hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughters, Melissa and Heather; his mother and father, Harriette and Norbert; and brother, Michael.
