MARY LOU SEELYE
(1928~2005)
PEKIN ~ Mary Lou Seelye, 76, of 341B Country Club Drive, died at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin.
Born April 19, 1928 in Harrisburg to Ralph Henry and Delia Melinda Walker Bath, she married Richard James “Dick” Seelye on June 22, 1947 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Margaret S. “Marggie” Seelye of Pekin; one sister, Sally J. Ennis Neale of Naples, Florida; one nephew, Steven J. (Connie) Ennis of East Peoria; and two nieces, Julie A. (Albert Jr.) Hettel of Marseilles and Maribeth (Bruce) Kendrick of Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brother-in-laws (James Ennis and Gerald Neale).
In 1972, she and her husband began The Greenhouse Flower Shoppe in Pekin which they operated until January of 1991 when the business was sold to their daughter. Previously, she worked at Central Bank in Peoria as a teller and in the office of Pekin Hospital, where she was instrumental in starting the billing department.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Pekin Country Club, where she golfed in the women’s league for many years. She was a former member of the Pekin Hospital League and the Illinois State Florists’ Association.
She enjoyed golfing 
, reading, knitting, and playing cards and Mah Jongg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Dwight E. Borden and Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Cremation will be accorded.

RANDY G. BRASHIER
(1959~2005)
SAN JOSE ~ Randy Gene Brashier, 45, of 15208 North County Road 3800 East, died at 1:55 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the Methodist Medical Center of Illinois in Peoria.
Born March 27, 1959 in Florence, Alabama to Tom and Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Hunt Brashier, Jr., he married Holly Denise Hackney on June 21, 1991 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of North Pekin; one son, Mitchell Wade Brashier at home and one daughter, Brooke Elizabeth Brashier at home.
His grandparents preceded him in death.
He worked for River City Construction for 11 years, last working as a Carpenter's Superintendent in October, 2004. He was a member of Carpenters Local 183 in East Peoria since January 16, 1989.
He was a member of McArthur Drive Baptist Church in North Pekin.
An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping and mushroom
hunting. He also enjoyed woodworking and especially enjoyed spending time with his children.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Bobby E. Barnhill will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

RUBY K. MORGAN
(1915~2005)
PEKIN ~ Ruby Katherine Morgan, 89, formerly of 336 Matilda Street, died at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at ManorCare at Riverview in East Peoria.
Born August 29, 1915 in Mason County to Robert Lee and Allie Druien Thomas, she married Wilton Leroy “Chick” Morgan on September 28, 1940 in Fairfield, Iowa. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Gayle Ann (Michael) Mirande of Bartonville; one son, Thomas J. (Kathy) Morgan of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Michael A. (Molly) Mirande, II of Westfield, Indiana, Stephen P. (Sharon) Mirande of West Chester, Ohio, Jessica A. (Josh) Weiss of Madison, Wisconsin and Theresa K. Morgan of Paradise, California; five great-grandchildren and one sister, Rosemary Schulz of Bedford, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Mary Catherine Mirande and one sister, Margaret T. Hooker.
She worked at Pekin Community High School District 303 for 19 years, retiring in 1975 as the cafeteria manager at West Campus.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and the former Altar & Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Tri-S Club at the Pekin YWCA.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing cards.
Her funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. The Rev. Timothy Nolan and Deacon Martin A. Pogoli will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.

VERA M. MCKINLEY
(1921~2005)
PEKIN ~ Vera Marjorie McKinley, 83, of 901 Illini Drive in East Peoria, died at 8:25 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Methodist Medical Center of Illinois in Peoria. She was formerly of 1505 North 11th Street in Pekin.
Born July 19, 1921 in Havana to John and Marjorie Johnson Sieberborn, she married John Wayne McKinley on October 3, 1940 in Bloomington. He died January 9, 1977 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by one infant son, Dennis McKinley; two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Daniel L. (Lisa Engel) McKinley, Dean D. McKinley and Dale A. McKinley, all of Pekin; two daughters, Donna K Hays of Warrensburg, Missouri and Diane R. Ray of Havana; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 42 years, retiring May 31, 1986 as an inspector in the seal room at Building NN in East Peoria.
She was a member of the Caterpillar Retirees Club. She also enjoyed camping at Kentuckiana at Hopedale and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Dwight E. Borden will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.

PEKIN— Kenneth James Cornwell, 70, of 259 Koch St. died at 12:25 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2005 at Pekin Hospital..
Born June 19, 1934 in Pekin to James Avery and Edith Katherine Hill Cornwell, Jr., he married Linda Lou Bitner on August 19, 1956 in Tazewell County. She died June 16, 1985 in Peoria. He later married Sharon Lucille Marshall on July 1, 1988 in Tazewell County.
Surviving are his wife; 5 sons, Kenneth D. Cornwell, James M. (Debbie) Cornwell, Gary S. Cornwell, Russell E. (Cindy) Cornwell, and Charles W. Cornwell, all of Pekin; 3 daughters, Tammie L. (Timothy) Calvin and Jody K. (Ronald) Hunt, both of Pekin, and Julie D. (Jessie) Hollis of Seabrook, Texas; 1 step-son, James (Glenna) Hayden of Pekin; and 1 step-daughter, Stephanie Hayden of Springfield; 33 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by 2 grandsons; 1 brother; and 1 sister.
Mr. Cornwell was a self-employed auto body and auto salvage technician.
He was an honorary member of Amvets Post #235 in Pekin.
He enjoyed old Western movies and building model cars.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. Rev. Quinn McKenzie will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
BONNIE M. DICK
(1943~2005)
TREMONT ~ Bonnie May Dick, 61, of 113 West Ripley in Tremont, died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, January 23, 2005 in Pekin. She was formerly of 1301 Fenley Street in Pekin.
Born December 16, 1943 in LaPrairie Township, Marshall County to Harry LeRoy and Grace Leona Stotler Colwell, she married Bernard Stanley “Bernie” Dick on November 24, 1962 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Scott Allan (Lonna) Dick of Longview, Washington; two daughters, Kelly Michelle Albrecht of Morton and Brenda Lynnette (Gary) Waremburg of Tremont; seven grandchildren, Ashley N. Albrecht, Philip M. Albrecht, Sarah E. Albrecht, all of Morton, Lacey D. Dick, Brittany A. Dick, Jay T. Jacobs and Bret M. Jacobs, all of Longview, Washington; five brothers, Miles (Catherine) Colwell of Glasford, Charles (Dollie) Colwell of Peck, Idaho, Kenneth (Linda) Colwell of Sparland, Wayne (Mary) Colwell of Chillicothe and Ralph (Janet) Colwell of Genesee, Idaho and three sisters, Mary (Ed) Bireline, June Vonk, both of Chillicothe and Nancy (Alvin) Smolinski of Orofino, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Jordan Alexander Dick; one brother, Harry Colwell, Jr. and a son-in-law, Kirk Albrecht.
She worked in housekeeping at the former Holiday Inn in Pekin and then for the Fireside House. She then worked as the activities director at the former Perino’s Nursing Home and later at the Galena Park Nursing Home. She later worked in the housekeeping department at the Riverview Retirement Community in East Peoria. She last worked part time for H&M Campers in Pekin.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pekin, where she helped several years with the youth program for high school students. She also was a member of the Heaven Bound Sunday school class at the church.
She was a charter member of the Heart of Illinois Jay Trackers Camping Club. Along with traveling Bonnie enjoyed rubber stamp card making. She also baked and decorated cakes for special occasions out of her home for many years.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Pekin. Pastor Mark D. Friday will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:15 p.m. Thursday at the church. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.

GENE E. WILLIAMS

PEKIN ~ Gene Edward Williams, 22, of Pekin, was pronounced dead at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at his residence.
He was born June 5, 1982 in Pekin to Eugene and Janice Ann Coram Williams. His father preceded him in death on August 5, 1983 in Marion.
Surviving are his mother of Pekin; two sisters, Janet M. Williams of Peoria and Gena M. (Riley) Whitener of North Pekin; one niece, Shyanne Alyssa Whitener of North Pekin; three step-sisters, Barb E. Dancel of Pekin, Karen S. Bennett of Paducah, Kentucky and Robin L. (Donald) Freeman of Canton; one step-brother, Larry D. Williams of Pekin and his maternal grandfather, Cleveland R. Coram of Pekin.
He worked for Burger King in Pekin for the past 3 years, last working Monday.
An outdoorsman, he loved to go fishing and camping.
His visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. Burial of ashes will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Marion at a later date.

BONNIE A. CAMPBELL

PEKIN ~ Bonnie Arline Campbell, 74, of 7300 Oleander Avenue, Port St. Lucie, Florida, died at 12:20 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2005 at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was formerly of Pekin.
Born February 15, 1930 in Fryatt, Arkansas to William Luther and Florence Catherine Robertson Flynn, she married Charles Thomas Campbell on June 18, 1948 in Pekin. He died September 19, 1975 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons (Martin C. Campbell and Jeffrey B. Campbell), and one sister-in-law (Shirley Flynn).
Surviving are one son, Eric S. (Vicki Hayes) Campbell of Fort Pierce, Florida; four grandchildren, Michael S. Campbell and Jeremy E. Campbell, both of Fort Pierce, Florida, Jessica L. Laws of Scott Air Force Base, and Justin S. Keyes of Pekin; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, E. Ruth (Ray) Bianchi and Roberta L. (Paul) Campbell, both of Pekin, Carol L. (Bob) Lumley of Ozark, Missouri, and Aleta V. (Sal) Way of Topeka; and three brothers, Aubrey R. Flynn of Green Valley, Roy H. (Janice) Flynn of Manito, and Kenneth L. (Vivian) Flynn of Pekin.
A homemaker, Mrs. Campbell was an avid reader and enjoyed writing short stories, poetry and songs. She also enjoyed flower gardening.
She formerly attended First Assembly of God in Pekin.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Quinn E. McKenzie will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

PEKIN— Robert Kenneth “Peanuts” Stanton, 74, of 1403 West Shore Drive died at 6:24 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2005 in the emergency room at Pekin Hospital.
Born April 12, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to Paul and Alvina Grindel Stanton, he married Wilma Lorraine Harvey.
He later married Mary J. McCulloch on March 3, 1977 in Pekin.
Surviving are his wife; 1 son, Robert A. Stanton of Pekin; 5 grandchildren; 2 step-granddaughters; 3 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Darlene (John) Norton of Roswell, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by 1 son, Denny Lee Stanton on February 22, 2004 in Peoria; 1 step-son, David Knapp on January 22, 1998 in South Carolina; and 1 brother, Richard Stanton.
Mr. Stanton was a tool and die maker and a machinist for 51 years. He last worked for Illinois Tool and Machine Company in North Pekin for 10 years. Previously, he had worked at H. Felde Tool and Machine Company in Peoria for 20 years, and Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for 21 years.
He was a former member of Pekin Moose Lodge #916. He was a avid bowler, participating in the Peoria Journal Star Brothers Bowling Tournament for many years.
He enjoyed gardening.
He served with the U.S.
Army in Korea from August 23, 1951 to October 25, 1952.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Private Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

FREEMAN M. CORDLE

PEKIN ~ Freeman Miller Cordle, 60, of 1003 Jefferson Street, died at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Manor Care Health Services in Peoria. He was formerly of 717 Maple Avenue in Galesburg.
Born June 24, 1944 in Dundas, Virginia to Claude H. and Margaret Eubank Cordle, he married Ruth Carolyn Newcomb on June 28, 1963 at the Plantersville United Methodist Church in Fort Mitchell, Virginia. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Ronda G. Taylor of Pekin; one son, Roger D. Cordle, Sr. of Colonial Heights, Virginia; three grandchildren, Rananda A. Taylor and Renee A. Taylor, both of Pekin, and Roger D. Cordle, Jr. of Colonial Heights, Virginia; two brothers, Harris Cordle and Herman (Judy) Cordle, both of Galesburg; two step-sisters, Naomi (Frank Jr.) Peterson of Galva and Maxine (Herbert) Nasland of Victoria; and several nieces and newphew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father (Orval Gates), two grandsons (Robert L. Taylor and Maxwell M. Cordle), two brothers (James D. Cordle and Edward Cordle), and one step-sister (Dalene Cramer).
Mr. Cordle worked for OMC Lawn Boy in Galesburg for 22 years in machinery repair, last working in 1985 when the plant closed. He then worked for Illinois Power in Galesburg for 15 years as a garage technician, retiring in 2000.
He was a former member of the Eagles Lodge and was a former social member of the American Legion, both in Galesburg.
He attended Pekin First Church of the Nazarene and formerly attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing , and trap shooting. He also enjoyed doing mechanical and automobile bodywork.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the Pekin First Church of the Nazarene, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Greg Mason will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at East Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg.
Arrangements are by the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
