MANITO ~ Jennifer Kay “Jenny” Hamann, 49, of 12921 Haas Court, Spring Lake Township, died at 11:49 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2005 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born July 28, 1955 in Sycamore to Harold Dean and Donna Lou Elliott McCain, she married Walter Orville “Walt” Hamann on October 10, 1980 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother of Pekin; two daughters, Hilarie E. (Rodney) Nehmelman of San Jose and Nicole M. Sutton of Manito; five grandchildren, Brody M. Sutton, Tyler J. Sutton, and Dakota M. Sutton, all of Manito, Austin G. Nehmelman of San Jose, and Wesley W. Holliger of Manito; one brother, Brad D. (Karen) McCain of Pekin; and one sister, Penny L. McCain of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her father on April 23, 1976 in Pekin, one sister (Lorrie A. McCain on September 4, 2003 in rural Manito), and one brother (Mark L. McCain on June 1, 1975 in Peoria).
A homemaker, she worked in the cafeteria at Spring Lake School in rural Manito for several years, last working in 2002.
She was a member of the Peoria Sportsman Club in rural Manito.
She enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, and her animals.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Cremation will follow the visitation. There will be no services.

GAYLE S. GARDINER
(1954~2005)
PEKIN ~ Gayle Sue Gardiner, 51, of 1421 Matilda Street, died at 6:37 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Pekin Hospital.
Born June 17, 1954 in Pekin to Alvin Leo “Al” and Edith Ellnora Stewart Harding, she married William Spencer “Bill” Gardiner. He survives.
Also surviving are her parents of Pekin; one son, Damon L. (Katie) Gardiner of Pekin; one daughter, Chana D. (Brian) Thousand of Creve Coeur; and four grandchildren, Zackery D. Gardiner and Victoria C. Gardiner, both of Elwood, Indiana, and Devin C. Thousand and Jaden M. Thousand, both of Creve Coeur.
Her grandparents preceded her in death.
Gayle had worked as the manager for the Atkins Apartments in Peoria for many years. She later worked as a caregiver for the Department of Rehabilitation Services in Pekin, last working in September of 2004. Previously, she worked at Wal-Mart, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Subway on North 8th Street, all in Pekin, and Professional Maintenance of Illinois in Peoria.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Pekin.
She enjoyed collecting knives and swords.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Christine A. Bell will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

MARGY A. SCHIEBERL
(1926~2005)
PEKIN ~ Margy Ann Schieberl, 78, of 7050 Madison Street, Willowbrook, died at 1:25 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Chateau Village Nursing Home in Willowbrook. She was formerly of Pekin.
Born December 23, 1926 in Pekin to John Edgar and Wilhelmina Annetta “Minnie” Koobs Wolfer, she married William Schieberl. He died in March of 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, nine brothers, and two sisters.
Surviving are two sisters, Muriel S. Buchanan of Pekin and Minnie E. (George) Wilson of Inverness, Florida; one brother, Dr. George K. (Natalie) Wolfer of Edmore, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
She worked as a nurse anesthetist at the Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale for many years.
She was a member of the Hinsdale Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hinsdale.
Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

PEKIN ~ Kimberly Ann Tackett, 32, of 2220 State Street in Pekin, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Pekin Living and Rehabilitation Center. She was formerly of Newton.
She was born January 17, 1973 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Lester and Virginia Leona Birch Tackett.
Surviving are her aunts, Alta M. (Jerry) Pullen of Clayton, Indiana and Donna F. Huddleston of Pekin, with whom she formerly resided and special friends who helped raise her, Rev. Norman and Debbie Jaegar of St. Louis and Peggy Smith of Clayton.
Her parents and grandparents preceded her in death.
She was a 1993 graduate of Pekin Community High School.
She formerly attended several area churches including Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.
Miss Tackett had formerly worked at Tazewell County Resource Centers, Inc. (TCRC) in both Peoria and Tremont.
Her funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Paul D. Myers will officiate. Visitation will be two hours before services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at noon Saturday at South Muddy Cemetery near Newton.

MACKINAW ~ Susanne Hoecker, 59, of 539 Heritage Drive, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at her residence
Born June 17, 1946 in Jacksonville to John William and Ruth Evelyn Roach Brown, she married Martin L. Hoecker on September 23, 1967 in Jacksonville. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Mark E. (Anouk) Hoecker of Mackinaw, Scott M. (Jennifer) Hoecker of rural Pekin and Jeff M. Hoecker of Springfield; two granddaughters, Baylee P. Hoecker and Brooke A. Hoecker, both of rural Pekin; two brothers, James A. Brown and John M. (Joyce) Brown, both of Ashland and six sisters, Sara E. (Rick) Alloway of Jacksonville, Patricia (Steve) Tribble of Bloomington, Rita R. Stuewe of Sherman, Jane M. Lair of Jacksonville, Jean M. (Mike) Murphy of Hettick and Phyllis A. (Chris “R.J.”) Graue of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant twin sister.
She received her associate’s degree in nursing from Illinois Central College in 1988. She then worked as a registered nurse in the mother-baby unit at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, last working in 2003.
A family oriented person, she was especially fond of her granddaughters.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton. The Rev. Mark DeSutter will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Burial will be in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.

PEKIN ~ Darrell Virgil Watson, 62, of 1906 Karo Street, died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Pekin Hospital.
Born January 21, 1943 in Rector, Missouri to Virgil and Ruth Elizabeth “Lizzy” Schaffer Watson, he married Elizabeth Ann Denton on October 10, 1987 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Edward V. Watson of Pekin and Jeffrey A. Watson of South Pekin; two daughters, Kathleen R. “Kitten” Watson of Montoursville, Pennsylvania and Tricia G. Watson of Woodson; three step-daughters, Connie L. (Jesse) Jackson, Joyce A. (Rogelio) Sanchez, and Kimberly D. (“Mo”) Ball, all of Pekin; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Earnest “Bud” Watson and Randy (Cheryle) Watson, both of Pekin, Charles “Chuck” (Sandy) Watson of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, John “Wes” Watson of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Rodger (Donna) Watson of Emden; and five sisters, Stella (Tori) Bowen of Virginia, Illinois, Ruth (Gerald) Campbell of Green Valley, Joann Miller of Pekin, Sally (Ty) Harbourn of Delavan, and Katie (Bill) Rawlings of Herod.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson (Larry D. “Little Larry” Dillon, Jr.), and one sister (Fran Cantrell).
Mr. Watson worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 31 ½ years, retiring in 2001 as an assembler at Mossville.
He enjoyed golfing 
, fishing, and watching NASCAR. He also was a Saint Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Bill Rawlings, his brother-in-law, will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005 at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Pekin.

NORTH PEKIN ~ James Russell Boyd, Sr., 84, of 140 Sunset Boulevard, died at 9:29 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005 in the emergency room of Pekin Hospital.
Born January 3, 1921 in Paragould, Arkansas to Jay Hugh and Inez Louise Hensley Boyd, he married Ruth Irene Funk on July 26, 1941 in Palmyra, Missouri. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, James R., Jr. (Bonnie) Boyd of Pekin; one daughter, Rozanna A. (Jerry) Gniadek of Pekin; three grandchildren, Stacey L. (Brian) Nannen and Christine K. (Rusty) Dunn, both of Pekin, and Chaney A. (Joanna) Gniadek of Tremont; and five great-grandchildren.
His parents and one sister (Sylvia L. Prince) preceded him in death.
Mr. Boyd worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 32 years, retiring in 1979 as a scribe mill operator in building LL in East Peoria. He previously worked at Koch Brothers Distributing in Peoria as a bottler and later at Corn Products Company in Pekin.
He was a member of the Caterpillar Retirees Club and the United Auto Workers Local 974 Retirees Club.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

BERNICE L. VETTER

PEKIN ~ Bernice Lorraine Vetter, 90, of 1416 North Capitol Street, died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Pekin Manor.
Born January 14, 1915 in Pekin to John and Mary Smith Farrow, she married Emil Albert Fornoff on August 3, 1931 in Valparaiso, Indiana. He died May 16, 1949. She later married Philip G. Vetter on October 27, 1950. He died March 3, 1986 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son (Robert D. Fornoff on May 9, 2004 in Pekin), four sisters, and five brothers.
Surviving are one son, Bill E. (Patricia) Fornoff of Charlotte, North Carolina; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Fornoff of Pekin, who helped care for her; four grandchildren, Stephen L. (Debra) Fornoff of Washington and Diane L. Fornoff of Pekin, both who helped care for her, Tracy (Kevin) Grove of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Kristen (Shawn) Brodof of Charlotte, North Carolina; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Merle (Betty) Farrow of Pekin; and one sister, Juanita Hall of Pekin.
She was a bookkeeper for Drs. Wherry, Werner, Helden, and Colson in Pekin for many years.
She was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, where she was a member of the Concordia Society.
She formerly enjoyed to knit, bowl and camping.
Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The Rev. Rodger P. Abatie will officiate. There will be no visitation.

CREVE COEUR ~ Harold Sprague Mouck, 61, of 308 Glendale Street, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at his home.
Born October 9, 1943 in Pekin to Louis Robert and Martha Irene Boyer Mouck, he married Kathryn Lucille Hultquist on December 14, 1974 in Pekin. She died September 28, 1999 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
Surviving are one son, Andrew S. (Mary Youngren) Mouck of Creve Coeur; two daughters, Amy S. (William Bailey) Mouck of Peoria and Melanie J. (Kenny) Mouck of Creve Coeur; six grandchildren; two brothers, Gene K. Mouck of Las Vegas, Nevada and Raymond G. Mouck of Pekin; and four sisters, Gloria I. Mouck and Mary L. (Richard) Bierhaus, both of Virginia, Illinois, Shirley J. Cassidy of Springfield, Missouri, and Verna A. Lacey of Creve Coeur.
Mr. Mouck worked for Peoria Disposal Company for 28 years, retiring in October of 2004.
He was a United State
Army veteran of the Vietname War and Desert Storm.
He was a member of the Phoenix Chapter in Sunnyland.
He enjoyed listening and recording music. He also enjoyed playing video poker.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. The Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2005 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, where military rites will be conducted by the Inter-veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
GARY D. HUFFMAN, SR.

PEORIA ~ Gary Dean Huffman, Sr., 61, of 915 South Helen Street, Apartment 101, died at 2:16 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born July 10, 1943 in Peoria to Louis Franklin Sr. and Evelyn Margaret Brown Huffman.
Surviving are two sons, Gary D. Jr. (Brandy) Huffman and Billy Joe (Christie) Huffman, both of Marquette Heights; three daughters, Lynn Sue (Eddie) Garcia of Roanoke, Deana L. (Glenn) Theinert of Hanna City, and Sherri J. Huffman of Peoria Heights; twenty grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Ervin W. Huffman, Sr. of Peoria; and one sister, Sharon L. Test of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother (Louis F. Huffman, Jr.), and one nephew.
Mr. Huffman was a well known painter at area autobody shops for 30 years. He later was a bartender at several taverns in Peoria. In the early 1970’s, he was a truck driving instructor at Illinois Central Illinois in East Peoria.
He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Peoria.
He enjoyed watching TT

racing and cooking.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. Private Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
