Pamela J. Miller, 58, Watseka, IL
Pamela J. Miller, 58, of Watseka died on Friday, December 4, 2009 at her home. A private family service will be held at a later date with cremation rites to be accorded.
Mrs. Miller was born July 7, 1951 in Springfield, MO, a daughter of Darold A. Sr. and Imojean Atchison Miller. She married Howard Miller in Oct., 1985 in Gilman, IL. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1994.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Rich Harrison of West Lafayette, IN and Amy and Tim Sullivan of Decatur, IL; one son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Melinda Miller of Watseka; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Ron Lowrance and Debra and Jim Prusa, all of Effingham, IL; two brothers, Darold Miller of Sheldon, IL and Dennis Miller of Effingham, IL; seven grandchildren, Jacob Sullivan, Jesse Sullivan, Nathan Harrison, Nikki Harrison, Caitlyn Lease, Brianna Osenga and Emily Miller; and eleven nieces and nephews, Hope Timmons, Callie Verkler, Chelsi Lowrance, Kera Prusa, Britni Prusa, Justin Prusa, Jeremy Lowrance, Jaclyn Merkley, Judith Miller, Jerod Miller and Marissa Miller.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Miller worked as a CNA at the Gilman Nursing Home for serveral years. She loved shopping, fishing and collecting angels.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice, American Cancer Society or Options of Watseka, IL.

Marie E. Steiner, 89, Cissna Park, IL
Marie E. Steiner, 89, of Cissna Park, IL died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Illinois Knights Templar Home in Paxton, IL.
Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park, and from 1 pm on Sunday, Nov. 1 until the 2 p.m. service at Cissna Park United Methodist Church. The Rev. Janet Longtin will officiate. Burial will be in Rankin Union Cemetery in Rankin, IL.
Mrs. Steiner was born August 10, 1920 in Rankin, a daughter of Edward and Jennie Kuntz Ingold. She married Joseph J. Steiner on April 30, 1943 in Reno, NV. He preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2008.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Ross Butzow of Wellington; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Karen Steiner of Reedsburg, WI; three grandchidren and their spouses, Doug and Linda Butzow of Paxton, Andrea and Denny Glotzbach of Hoopeston and Anne Marie Steiner of Coon Rapids, MN; five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Gage and Emma Glotzbach, and Lincoln and Zoe Butzow; and one sister, Frances Oesch of Hopedale, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Steiner had been a homemaker and was a member of Cissna Park United Methodist Church. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, baking and gardening.
Memorials may be made to Cissna Park United Methodist Church.

Dorthy Jean Hendricks, 59, Rankin, IL
Dorthy Jean Hendricks, 59, of Rankin, IL died on Monday, October 26, 2009 at her home.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, until the 12 p.m. service at Knapp Funeral Home in Rankin. The Rev. Janet Longtin will officiate. Burial will be at Rankin Union Cemetery in Rankin.
Mrs. Hendricks was born March 29, 1950 in Paxton, IL, a daughter of Joe and Myrtle Leigh Roe. She married Delmer Dean Hendricks on July 6, 1990 in Danville, IL and he survives.
Other survivors include a cousin, Terry Walhood of Rockaway Beach, OR; one brother- and sister-in-law, Mark and Sherri Hendricks of Rankin; one nephew, Jeff Hendricks, and one niece, Alicia Hendricks, both of Rankin.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Hendricks was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary; the Humane Society of the United States; and Rankin United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and loved her cats and dogs.
Memorials may be made to Rankin United Methodist Church.

Wilford LeRoy Stevens, 75, Watseka, IL
Wilford LeRoy Stevens, 75, of Watseka, IL died on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Watseka Rehab and Health Care Center. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Mr. Stevens was born October 10, 1934 in Watseka, IL, a son of Ernest and Elsie Carlock Stevens. He married Patricia Hougland on November 27, 1959 in Alabama and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Willy Larsen of Chebanse, IL; two sons, Steven Stevens and his fiancee, Tina Huckleby of Milford, IL and Joe Stevens of Watseka; one sister, Wilda Wright of Woodland, IL; one brother, Wendell Stevens of Payson, AZ; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Stevens had been in the U.S. Navy and was a farmer. He enjoyed bowling, racing and playing pool.

Judith J. Howe, 57, Sheldon, IL
Judith J. Howe, 57, of Sheldon, IL died on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon, where services will be held at ll a.m. on Wednesday, October 28. Rev. Van Haas will officiate. Burial will be in Sheldon Cemetery.
Mrs. Howe was born October 8, 1952 in Watseka, IL, a daughter of Robert and Verna Knerr Rudisill. She married Gilbert K. Howe on November 6, 1983 in Watseka, IL. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2006.
Survivors include one son, Sean Howe of Tinley Park, IL; her mother, Verna Howe of Sheldon; her father and step-mother, Robert and Pat Rudisill of Kentland, IN; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Rodney Rudisill of Ohio, Craig Rudisill of West Lafayette, IN and Russell and Linda Rudisill of Rankin, IL; one sister and brother-in-law, Ginny and Bernie McGraw of Brook, IN; one step-brother, Scott Howe; and three step-sisters, Jana Henke, Deanna Cannon and Lisa Shields.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Bailey.
Mrs. Howe enjoyed music, drawing, playing cards and writing poetry.
Memorials may be made to the National Autism Association.

Anita M. Hendershott, 82, Kankakee, IL
Anita M. Hendershott, 82, of Kankakee, IL, formerly of Chebanse, IL, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Miller Center in Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, October 25 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 26, at the United Church of Chebanse. The Rev. Connie Williams-Moodie will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Chebanse.
Mrs. Hendershott was born May 29, 1927 in Chebanse, a daughter of Bernie J. and Mabel Lane Burling. She married Clifford “Doc” Hendershott on September 7, 1946 in Chebanse. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1988.
Survivors include three sons, Jay Hendershott of Los Angeles, CA, Alan “Tyke” Hendershott of Kankakee and Robert Hendershott of Lake Lure, NC; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Hendershott had been the Assistant Vice-President at Federated Bank. She was a member of the United Church of Chebanse, where she had been the Financial Secretary; a member of the Iroquois County Educational Secretaries Association; and the Past President of the Kankakee Chapter of the Bank Administration Institute.
Memorials may be made to the United Church of Chebanse or Donor’s Choice.

Margaret Uebele Strough, Gilman, IL
Margaret Uebele Strough, 93, of Gilman, IL died on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 until the 11 a.m. service at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga. The Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate. Burial will be at Lyman Twp. Cemetery in Roberts, IL.
Mrs. Strough was born April 10, 1916 in Olney, IL, a daughter of Alfred and Grace Mericle Legan. She married Herman Uebele on Nov. 24, 1934 in Roberts, IL. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1962. She later married Everett Strough on July 17, 1963 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1987.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and George Harvick of Gilman, IL; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Linda Uebele of Mahomet, IL; one sister, Jean Pratt of Springfield, IL; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; four sisters; one step-son; and one step-daughter.
Mrs. Strough was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Roberts and was active with Ladies Aid. She later attended the Onarga Christian Church in Onarga. She worked at Melinds Factory and retired in 1982 after 27 1/2 years of service. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling and reading.
Memorials may be made to the Onarga Christian Church.

Everett L. McNeil, 85, Onarga, IL
Everett Lee McNeil passed away August 12, 2009.
He was born May 7, 1924, in rural Thawville, Illinois to Chester Lee and Ruth McNeil. Everett graduated from Onarga High School in 1942. He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater in the occupation of France and Germany. He was honorably discharged on December 18, 1946. He then married Avalon Haas on June 7, 1947. They continued to farm in the Ridgeville/Onarga area for 46 years before retiring in 1993, spending winters at their new home in Phoenix, Arizona. Everett was a member of the Onarga Methodist Church and also a lifetime member of the American Legion. No matter how busy Everett was with his farming and livestock, along with part time employment, he always had time to stop and talk to friends. He always made time to attend all school functions in which his children were involved. Everett’s passions included his family, dancing with Avalon, hunting with his coon dogs and bird dogs, raising his prized fighting chickens, and playing cards with his friends.
Everett is survived by his wife, Avalon, of 62 years; two daughters, Barbara McNeil of Marietta, Ohio and Diane (Mike) Lee of Hawesville, Kentucky; one son, Kenneth Lee (Kathy) McNeil of Geneva, Illinois; two grandsons, Kyle and Matthew McNeil; one brother, Wayne McNeil of Fowler, Indiana; three nephews, Mark McNeil of Seattle, Washington, Tim McNeil of Florida and Kevin McNeil of Fowler, Indiana; and one niece, Dee Ann (Ron) Storch of Peoria, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his oldest grandson, Johnathon Lee McNeil, on February 5, 2009.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Onarga Methodist Church. Rev. Elizabeth Reis and Rev. Tom Jones will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Onarga Methodist Church.
Arrangements are by Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga.

Betty J. Albright, 84, Donovan, IL
Betty J. Albright, 84, of Donovan passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
Mrs. Albright was born October 5, 1925 in Martinton, a daughter of John F. and Tena Johnson Neal. She married Byron Albright on February 23, 1946 in Martinton. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1999.
Surviving are two nieces: Alice (Whitey) Davis and Phyllis Meier all of Watseka; one nephew: Larry (Claudia) Schultz of Sheldon and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother: Wayne Neal.
Mrs. Albright was a member of the Donovan Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka with visitation being held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Pastor Kevin Wolfe and Pastor Terry Horn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or Donor’s Choice.

Raymond Wolford, 81, Beaverville, IL
Raymond Glenn “Duke” Wolford, 81, of Beaverville died Friday, October 9, 2009 at Danville V.A. Medical Center in Danville.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon with visitation from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Joe Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in Beaver Cemetery, Donovan with military graveside rites by Watseka American Legion Post #23.
Mr. Wolford was born March 16, 1928, in Donovan, a son of Phillip Cyrus and Ruby Constance Winslow Wolford. He married Eudora “Jackie” Carlson in April 1977 in Morocco, IN. She preceded him in death on May 5, 1999.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law: Lester (Bea) Wolford of Beaverville and Elmer (Rosie) Wolford of Sugar Creek, TN.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Wolford served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Jessie William Ball, Sr., 76, Thawville, IL
Jessie William Ball, Sr., 76, of Thawville, IL died on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at his home.
Cremation rites will be accorded with Burial at a later date in West Virginia.
Mr. Ball was born July 3, 1933 in Lex, WV, a son of William and Carolyn Witt Ball. He married Lucille Roberts in January, 1954 in Litwar, WV and she preceded him in death in October, 1969. He later married Betty Chandler on July 22, 1972 in Virginia and she survives.
Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jessie and Kat Ball, Jr. of Thawville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lola and Robert Holmberg of Babson Park, FL, Carol and Louie Blackburn of Auburndale, FL and Linda Hartman of Thawville; five brothers; three sisters; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchidren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Ball was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Panther, WV. He enjoyed woodworking, watching movies and playing the guitar.
