Wilbur “Dale” Lade, 68, Donovan, IL
Wilbur “Dale” Lade, 68, of Donovan, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
Dale was born July 21, 1942 in Morocco, IN, a son of Wilbur H. and Dorothea A. Potts Lade. He married Glenda J. Brewer on March 2, 1963 in Nahanah, GA and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Dorothea Lade of Watseka; two daughters, Cindy (Mark) Hemp of Donovan and Sherri M. (John) Siegenthaler of Port Orange, FL; two sons, Jeff (Kate) Lade of Port Orange, FL and Michael Scott Lade of Lafayette, IN; three brothers, Terry (Wanda) Lade of Florida, Danny (Linda) Lade of Reed Springs, MO and Dennis (Karen) Lade of Watseka; two sisters, Carol A. Jackson of Marion and Mary Hull of Sheldon; sister-in-law, Elaine Lade of Beaverville; two granddaughters, Holly N. Lade of Port Orange, FL and Audra Byle of Donovan; one grandson, John Ryan Siegenthaler of Port Orange, FL; and one great-grandson, Adam James Byle of Donovan.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Lee Lade.
Mr. Lade served in the Navy. He was of Baptist Faith and loved fishing, boating, racing, motorcyles and traveling.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. memorial service on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon. Joe Hughes will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice.

Ethel L. Morgeson, 95, Milford, IL
Ethel L. Morgeson, 95, of Milford, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Hoopeston Community Memorial Nursing Home.
Ethel was born November 19, 1915, in Milford, a daughter of Francis Marion and Bertha Mae Mott Watts. She married Wilbur R. Morgeson on December 22, 1935 in Rossville and he preceded her in death on January 7, 2003.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Morgeson of Stockland and W. Dean (Frances) Morgeson of Mt. Zion; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; two daughters, Gloria Joanne Lienbach and Judith Ann Atkins; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Ethel was a member of the Milford Christian Church, Women of the Moose – Chapter 216 – Danville, College Regents and a past member of Rebekkahs and Lioness Club.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Milford Christian Church. Rev. Gary Milton will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery in Stockland.
Memorials may be made to the Milford Ambulance Service.

Eva E. Strand, 88, Iroquois, IL
Eva Elaine Strand, 88, of Iroquois, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
Eva was born November 24, 1922, in Steger, a daughter of Nils T. and Eva P. DuFrain Kronvall. She married Vernon Strand on November 14, 1946 in Sheldon and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2002.
Surviving are two grandsons, Darrin (Joy) Carlson of Donovan and Jeff Carlson of Iroquois; three great-grandsons, Kaleb, Drake and Conner Carlson; one son-in-law, Donald Carlson of Donovan; one niece, Sue (Jack) Hutchinson of Watseka; and one nephew, Gerald Kronvall of Chesapeake, VA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carol Carlson; and one brother, August Kronvall.
Eva was a member of the Iroquois Methodist Church. She had worked in the accounting department at T.R.W.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon. Rev. Paul Copeland will officiate. Burial will be in Beaver Cemetery in Donovan.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or Iroquois Methodist Church.

Linda D. Smith, 59, Martinton, IL
Linda Dale (Chappell) Smith, 59, of Martinton, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Watseka Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Linda was born December 12, 1951 in Chicago, a daughter of Lester Dale and Lorraine Chappell. She married James Smith on December 19, 1971 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wilsonville and he survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jimmy (Mary Jo) Smith of Watseka; three grandchildren, Megan, Michelle and Vaughn of Watseka; four sisters, RuthAnn (Thomas) Dolliger of Bourbonnais, Nancy Rhoads of Oconomowoc, WI, Barbara (Van) Baker of Wilsonville and Cathleen Edwards of Gillespie; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Thomas Rhoads.
Mrs. Smith owned, operated and managed “Last Call” in Martinton until retiring in 2009. She was known for her laughter and sense of humor.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Joe Hughes will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or American Cancer Society.

John W. Dirks, 78, Watseka, IL
John W. Dirks, 78, of Watseka, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
John was born November 2, 1932, in Woodland, a son of Dirk “Dick” and Elise Kohler Dirks. He married Marjorie Sweeney in June 1959 in Watseka and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Bill (Pam) Dirks of Watseka, Doug (Pam) Dirks of Watseka and Steve Dirks of Columbia; two sisters, Luella Dubea of Iroquois and Lucille Clark of Donovan; three grandsons, Chris Dirks, Brett Dirks and Marc Dirks all of Watseka; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Dirks.
Mr. Dirks served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka, was a former Sunday School Superintendent, was a trustee for Middleport Twp., worked for several area factories and farmed for many years. John enjoyed farming, boating and fishing.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka. Rev. Donald Love will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka with military graveside rites by Watseka Amerian Legion Post #23 and Iroquois County VFW Post #7450.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka, American Cancer Society or Donor’s Choice.

James H. Brown, 87, Watseka, IL
James H. Brown, 87, of Watseka, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
Jim was born in Sheldon, IL on October 18, 1923, the son of William Floyd and Lena Webster Brown. He was a graduate of Sheldon High School class of 1941. Prior to joining the Army in January 1943, he was employed as a clerk in the Post Office. Upon completion of basic training, he was assigned to the Infantry School at Fort Benning, GA. Jim later transferred to the Army Air Force and spent eleven months with the 25th Bomb Group in England. In January 1945, during the Battle of the Bulge, Jim, along with six other volunteers from the 25th Bomb Group, volunteered to return to the U.S Army and were assigned to the 90th Infantry Division. He was a Rifle Squad Leader in Company E, 359th Infantry. His citations included: Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star Medal, American Campaign Medal, European Theater Medal with One Silver and One Bronze Battle Star, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. Jim celebrated a final victory lap with other World War II veterans on an Honor Guard Flight to Washington, DC in August 2010.
Jim attended St. Joseph College and the University of Miami. He was employed for more than 40 years in Personnel/Human Resources Management for a number of area companies, retiring from UARCO, Inc. in May 1990. After one year of retirement, Jim became a part-time bartender at the Buckhorn Inn and Miss Karol’s in Watseka. Jim was also involved in many other clubs and organizations during his lifetime, often serving in leadership roles. He was a 19 year member of the Unit 9 Board of Education, serving as President and Secretary at various times. He was a past Commander of American Legion Post 23 and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7450. He was a longtime member of Shewami Country Club and the University of Miami Hurricanes Club. He proudly served as a Board member for the 25th Bomb Group and was a member of the 90th Infantry Division Association.
On January 23, 1949, Jim married Janice Johnston of Watseka. She preceded him in death in May 1977. On May 22, 1981, Jim married Marie Redman in Champaign, IL. She survives in Watseka. Other survivors include two sons and three daughters: Jeff (Dawn) Brown of Rock Falls, IL, Greg (Joyce) Brown of Rockford, IL, Pamela (John) Baldwin of Greenville, SC, Jill (Gary) Law of Perkasie, PA and Debbie (Steve) McCullough of Watseka, IL. Jim had eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two more great-grandchildren on the way. Also surviving are brother-in-law, Marion (Fran) Johnson and sister-in-law, Carolyn (Mike) Gerkin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Karl Jorgensen; one brother, Louis Brown; and one daughter, Rebecca Brown.
Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2011 and 1 hour prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Monday May 9, 2011 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Rev. Joel Brown will officate. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Watseka with military graveside rites by Watseka American Legion Post #23 and Iroquois County VFW Post #7450.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice, St. Peters Lutheran Church or Honor Flight Chicago.

Myrtle C. Schupbach, 97, Cissna Park, IL
Myrtle C. Schupbach, 97, of Cissna Park, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Hoopeston Community Memorial Nursing Home.
Myrtle was born June 1, 1913, in Kawkawlin, MI, a daughter of James and Margretta Lasher Shaver. She married George Albert Schupbach on December 4, 1947 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on July 31, 1997.
Surviving are one son, Gerald (Claire) Schupbach of Jacksonville, FL; one daughter, Pattie (Walter) Strobel of Corpus Christi, TX; three grandchildren, Jennifer Adkins, Dawn (Jeff) Johnson and Bradley (Brook) Schupbach; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and six sisters.
Mrs. Schupbach was a member of Christian Bible Church in Cissna Park. She was a former 4-H and Cub Scout Leader and enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Christian Bible Church in Cissna Park. Pastor Bud Pederson and Pastor Herbert Flinkman will officiate. Burial will be in the Cissna Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Christian Bible Church, Carle Hospice or Donor’s Choice.

Carol A. Reder, 68, Rantoul, IL
Carol A. Reder, 68, of Rantoul, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Asta Care Center in Paxton.
Carol was born May 15, 1944 in Chicago, a daughter of John A. and Eleanor Ruth Wojnowiak Reder Sr.
Surviving are one brother, John A. Reder Jr. of Lubbock, TX; three daughters, Diana Leonard of Lubbock, TX, Sierra Reder of Springfield and Lisa Reder; two sons, David Reder and Davion Reder both of Rantoul; and many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Reder was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Rantoul.

Stephen A. Domogala, 71, Watseka, IL
Stephen A. Domogala, 71, of Watseka, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011.
Stephen was born October 20, 1939, in Mosinee, WI, a son of Andrew and Anna Domogala. He married Donna Walver on November 24, 1979 in Lake Station, IN and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Dean Domogala of Indiana and Stephen (Claudia) Domogala II of Indianapolis, IN; one daughter, Beth (Daniel) McCabe of Hammond, IN; one brother, John (Linda) Domogala of Schererville, IN; his mother, Anna Gagnon of Watseka; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchldren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Domogala was an East Chicago, IN Policeman for 20 years. He loved Purple Martin Birds.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Mary Misenhelter, 71, Rankin, IL
Mary Misenhelter, 71, of Rankin, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Mary was born July 30, 1939, a daughter of John and Mary McKnight Holmes. She married Oran C. Misenhelter Jr. in Chicago and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2007.
Surviving are four daughters, Mary (John) Keehma of Minooka, Valerie (Michael) Driver of Orland Park, Kathleen Johnson of Watertown, SD and Doris (Martin) Varela of Rankin; two sons, Thomas Misenhelter of Rankin and Mark (Bridget) Misenhelter of Rantoul; seven grandchildren; two brothers; and four sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Mary enjoyed playing bingo.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Knapp Funeral Home in Rankin. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Lemont.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.

Norma I. Roth, 81, Clifton, IL
Norma I. Roth, 81, of Clifton, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at her home.
Norma was born December 13, 1929 in Stockwell, IN, a daughter of Ora L. and Marguerite M. Ryan Brooks. She married Merle T. Roth on August 18, 1973 in Kankakee and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1991.
Surviving are two daughters, Merri (Randy) Rieken and Cindy Saxma all of Clifton; five step-children; three sisters, Beverly Hunter of Lake Station, IN, Gloria Hill of Florida and Patricia Brown of Missouri; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Mrs. Roth was a member of the United Church of Christ in Chebanse.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. Deacon Ron Gagnon will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chebanse.
Memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice.
